Taraji Henson is one of the world's best actresses, but too often she takes fluffy, happy roles. This role is brutal, and she shines...possibly Oscar-quality. It's also great to see Tyler Perry make a serious movie, with a social conscious script about trying to survive abject poverty in today's America. The movie also addresses the cultural sensitivities of local police versus the heavy-handedness of federal police.
Unfortunately, the stupidity of the dual-ending removed the power of emotion that built during the climax. Obviously, Perry couldn't make up his mind about how to end the film, so he showed two different endings which removed the emotional grip that had been heretofore attained from his audience. The poor ending does not take away from the superb acting or good storytelling up until then. But it does take us out of the story, and it dropped my grade from a 9 to a 7.

Blue Lights is superb. England, of late, is making a lot of really good police shows. They tend to eschew all of the blood and gore that American shows, particularly the crap on Netflix, like to show.
This is a show about humanity and relationships, including those of the "bad" guys. And you never know what twists and turns the plot will take.
The acting is very professional and believable without any "superstars". But it is the scripts that truly stand out. Plenty of action. Plenty of suspense. And plenty of humor.
It all takes place in Belfast, several decades after "The Troubles". The citizens are still wary of the police and there is a flourishing drug trade.
Sometimes, you can never be right.

The acting is a solid 0! The directing, well there wasn't any. And the camera work. Oh my God, this must have been shot with an iPhone. Lots of close ups of bad facial expressions. I wasted ten whole minutes of my life before junking it.
The couple live in an expensive apartment, yet they're broke. Nothing in this movie makes any sense, and I'm certain it didn't make any bucks either. A ha ha LOL. I have to write 200 more characters but there's nothing to write about. The cop was the worst actor in the whole movie, if that is even possible.
Six hundred characters is a lot when there is nothing but slop to write about. I can't believe that Amazon was so desperate that they either bough or financed this crap! Wow, I'm done.
