No shade to Tim. He makes me laugh more than anyone. However, many if these jokes seem sophomoric and it's obvious he's can be more clever and just funny in general. Honestly, he is SO GOOD at doing his off the cuff rants on his podcast... it might be more "him" to do a Kill Tony style show, but instead of comedy he gives each selected audience member a minute to talk about various topics that change throughout the night (controversial opinions, traumatic stories, embarrassing moments, illegal actions, etc.
Anyways, love and will always love Tim. Just feel like he's above making trans jokes (nothing wrong with making jokes about trans people, as with any group of people - it's just that EVERY COMEDIAN that isn't clean does trans jokes and it's far from intriguing).
His best talent, in my opinion, comes from his natural speech, on the spot rants and generationally great ability to be engaging, insightful, cynical, and dramatic/hyperbolic as a conversationalist.
I'll watch anything Tim puts out there. I enjoyed the creativity in his other recent show "This it's your Country". I hope he does more projects along that vein.

It was good. Not great, just good - funny a lot of the times. But you could literally watch his pod and laugh just as much. Specials for me should feel special. This was good.
With these kinds of specials you can feel that this isn't old bits he's been working on for a long time and saved them for a special. I bet if he did this material for a couple of years they could be great. But Tim doesn't have a couple of years, so gluttony is the word I'd use for his life now. I can't argue - I'd be the same. I am the same - whenever there is a meal to be had, whenever there is money to be made - I am there. Netflix wants to throw money at you? Sure - go for it

Saw Tim live last year. His set has gone downhill fast. This was kinda hard to get through. He was trying hard almost struggling to craft a joke up there. Hanging out with terrible comedians like Joe Rogan has rubbed off on him. I don't even know who this was for. Even a 5 rating is generous. His last special was a little rough too but not even close to this bad. It's weird but both times I've seen him live, his sets been way better than the specials he's put out. This one's going to get some tough comments. At times it felt like he was having a panic attack or something. Also there's a decent bit of repetitive jokes if you listen to his podcast. We wish him luck though.

In a comedy landscape that feels sanitized and risk-averse this is a breath of fresh air. This is one of the funniest, smartest specials of the year. Beneath the sarcasm and bravado is a sharp critique of the world, yet he never comes off as preachy. Instead, he invites you to laugh at the chaos with him. Whether he's jabbing Hollywood elites, mocking suburban family dynamics, or diving into the darker corners of American culture, his delivery is pitch-perfect.
Tim leans into his signature style, blending the absurd with the all-too-real in a way that leaves you laughing even as you're questioning your own sanity. He doesn't tiptoe around sensitive topics he charges at them with a flamethrower, exposing hypocrisy, delusion, and the weirdness of our cultural moment.

I've seen comedy shows for decades. I'd have been embarrassed had I attended this "show". I would have walked out on him. This guy is not at all funny. His prepared material was not at all funny. He tells these off beat stories that are supposed to be based on reality. He claims to be friends with RFK Jr and Cheryl Hines and that RFK Jr. Wanted him to repeat his poor impression of him.
The two stars was for the few minutes of crowd work that bordered on grin worthy. I watched this so called performance for about 30 minutes. I can't have that time back. I watched and asked myself "What can I be doing instead of watching this garbage?" Don't waste your time.

I watch a lot of comedy specials, and this has to be the best one I've seen in years. It's honest, raw comedy at its absolute best. Tim Dillon smashed it with sharp, unapologetic takes that cut through the noise. The timing, delivery, and confidence are unmatched-he's not afraid to say what others won't, and that's what makes this special so refreshing. Every bit had me laughing while also thinking, which is rare. Easily one of the most fearless and hilarious performances I've seen in a long time. Tim's on another level, and this special proves he's one of the greats. Well done Tim this was amazing can't wait to see more.

It was okay. There where a few funny jokes but also a few that were so unfunny, I was questioning whether the laughs I was hearing were actually real. I'm sure he wrote a ton of jokes, but it felt like the whole special only had 5 jokes, and less than half of them were actually funny.
Tim Dillon clearly leans a a certain way politically speaking, but he tries so hard to be perceived neutral, it kind of kills the jokes. I think he should either go all in and be a bit more creative or just avoid political topics at all.
All in all, it was moderately entertaining but I wouldn't really recommend it or watch it again.

Is Netflix trying to ruin comedy??? They keep putting these terrible comics from the Rogansphere on this platform even though they keep failing. I don't understand this business model. Tim Dillon was the awkward, unconvincing, and really just needs to stop doing everything and take care of his body. He looks sick and at any moment his belly could tip him over. There is Ozempic, he has money, has he not connected the dots??? I would pass, this is luke warm, trailer trash, horse trough water. Stay away. Rogan is destroying comedy by recommending all his friends to Netflix. This must end or comedy will die forever.
I am honestly in shock how good this was. I was so mad it was only 41 minutes long, he could've went thrice as long and I never would have gotten bored. Anyone who gave this a bad rating must have not actually watched the whole special, or they simply don't like this style of comedy. However, for anyone who likes irreverent comedy i.e. South Park type humor, you will enjoy this. If you're super partisan and love one political party at all costs, this isn't for you. If you're overly Christian or overly liberal, you won't like this. If you think comedy should not go back to the way it was 20+ years ago, this definitely isn't for you. If you prefer 2025 Stephen Colbert to 2007 Stephen Colbert, this certainly isn't for you.

I watch a lot of stand up, I heard about him and thought I'd give him a try. I wasn't expecting much, but I struggled to laugh even once during this show, so disappointing.
I'm not sensitive to any topics, so it wasn't about any subject he tried, it's just that he wasn't funny. At all.
I keep reading that people are saying that Rogan is to blame, that Dillon is his friend and he recommended him to Netflix, but I watched Rogan and laughed my ass off at some of his jokes.
I felt deadpan the whole time I watched this show, this is not acceptable from a comedy show, and even less so from a special.

"I'm Your Mother" is a well-written, heart-breaking special that is dulled by the lack of exaggerated character/POV on stage.
Tim Dillon is a satirist. He uses cynicism, absurd heightening, and extreme character to get his point across.
I watch "the best of Tim Dillon podcast" once a month ish. His stupid rants bring me joy. Largely because Tim is so... grotesque. A caricature. Not a real person. In his bizarre sun-glasses and stylish (hehe) outfit it's "Tim Dillon" is a lot like "Ali G".
In this special Tim is dressed in a hoody and jeans - Tim LOOKS and DELIVERS so down to earth, so earnest, you no longer have a feeling you're watching a character. To me, in "I'm your mother" this over-the-top heightening of his lands part boring, part sad, part mean.
It feels more drama, less comedy. Tragedy of the modern world rather than satire. Give it a watch!

Cringed my way through the opening homelessness jokes but hit a full stop with Tim's mockery of mental illness. I understand comedy that pushes boundaries - but this special goes over the line in some cruel and insensitive ways.
Tim's impersonation of bipolar disorder was particularly hard to watch, as it in no way characterized that serious disorder - nor was it remotely funny. Performances like this push back the progress we have made in reducing the stigma of seeking treatment as well as educating friends and family members of people living with all kinds of mental illness. Netflix should be better than this.

Exactly what we need right now! A comedy special that is actually worth they hype. This might very well be one of the best specials I have EVER SEEN! This is Tim Dillons magnum opus. This is by far the best special he has ever done. I haven't laughed like that in years, it is very rare I give it scores this high. But by God he deserves it, this will be remembered as his masterpiece. Something this good shows how nearly all other comedians are either lazy or holding back. This is what comedy is supposed too be. It makes me sad that a special this funny is that rare these days but it is. This will rival even some of Dave Chappelle's work! You have no idea how long I have waited for comedy that is actually funny. He does not hold back, he exposes who he really is too his audience and is not afraid too get personal! If you suffer from depression, look no further, for I have found the cure!
Fearless comedy is always the best! I will always love people that speak their thoughts without worry of the collective reaction! Why can't we all just appreciate a good laugh and not be offended by everything and make every personal opinion a political message. You miss out on avoiding people for fake premises. And this is ridiculous you have to write so many words so this website accepts your review! How do you expect to get honest reactions!!!!? This is disappointing in so many ways I have to continue this to make my review acceptable.... Ok no one is getting college credits! What is with a stupid word count minimum? Prevents honesty... oh so Hollywood of you!

Timmy brings down the hammer on the homelessness, funny hour. He comments on many current political happenings in his usual style, however somewhat more relaxed than his most rabid rants. Maybe my favorite of his standup specials to date. The show is well shot and Tim brings some great physicality which brings the scenarios to life. He is wearing maybe the baggiest jeans ever. Honestly I mostly wrote this review to get to be the first one on IMDb. Tim is fat and funny but I wish he would make a standup special where goes really dark, something that would be appalling to most people. Life in the big city.
I'm 66 years old and have seen stand up from Don Rickles to George Carlin to Dave Chappell to Alan King and back. I mean I have seen the greatest of all time, so when I say this was the funniest stand-up act I've seen in a long time, I mean it seriously.
I haven't laughed that hard in years! Comedians nowadays should remember this because Dillon finally let loose and gifted us with pure comedy! Something we've been lacking for years!
He approached each subject with ease and did not hold back. Finally someone who dues t care if he's offensive and isn't afraid to be cancelled, and actually daring people to be offended! Thank you Mr. Dillon!
