Keanu Reeves said that it was very awkward making the sex scene in the film and seeing Lorenza Izzo naked in several scenes in it, since she was director Eli Roth's wife at the time.
Colleen Camp and the late Sondra Locke (1944 - 2018), two of the co-producers of this film, also starred in Tödliche Spiele (1977) (actually shot in 1974), the original film on which it is based. Locke was a decade older than Camp, lending an air of mother-daughter vibes to the original movie, but new actresses Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas are just one year apart in age.
This film is the first official remake of the psychological thriller Tödliche Spiele (1977), but there is also an earlier unofficial remake of that film --- the Spanish erotic thriller Viciosas al desnudo (1980) with Jack Taylor, Eva Lyberten, and Adriana Vega.
The film's Chinese title used in Taiwan translates to "When Babes Come Knocking."
