I knew the musical had a great reputation, after seeing the musical on film. I'm gutted to have not made the effort to go see it in person. I bet the vibe in the theatre is off the chart. Every minute, every song was highly entertaining.
A clever way of telling each story of the Six wives. It was an absolute bop from start to finish.
Each performance went from strength to strength.
Get Down was my favourite song, the lyrics, the cadence to the song and the sheer star performance given by Genesis Lynea....chefs kiss!
But honestly, the show the scene the costumes and the performances were incredible.

I loved six when I saw it in Theatres last year. I heard about it coming to cinema and knew I had to go watch it, so I did. I loved seeing the actors on the big screen especially as it was the original cast. If you liked Six or haven't seen it but are interested in it I would highly recommend you watch it.
The start of the movie gives a bit of backstory to how Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss created it and how the original cast got to see reactions to the new musical. Seeing the complete musical on the big screen was better than I expected, I didn't expect to still get chills at moments like the high note in 'heart of stone' but I did.
The movie also shows costume details that I had never noticed before like the earrings being the Roman numerals for which wife of Henry's they were.
Overall this was a great movie musical but I still would recommend seeing it in person in a theatre if you can.

The play and music itself is 10/10 mo question however the cinema experience wasn't as good as I'd hoped, having been to both, the engagement with certain more interactive parts plus the feel of the live music is just far superior. If you can only see it one way, I'd wait for the dvd as I think charging £25 is extremely unfair and overpriced for something like Heathers and others that'll be a dvd in a month or two. Higher price for theatres and the experience I agree with but cinema is expensive enough. Unless you're legitimately watching a live show as a one off, it's pricey.
Sound wasn't as great as I'd hoped, recently saw Sabaton and it was vibrating and base filled and just more immersive. I'd also say whilst I love the costumes and songs and all voices were on point especially Millie, I'm not a huge fan of the lack of acting/sets etc, personally I don't class Six as a play or show. More a concert, which is fine but after a while it's very samey so don't expect costume changes, an intermission or scenes, 1 outfit except Anne, no real dialogue in a standard way but the uniqueness of its presentation makes Six must see and very enjoyable. Flies by and nearly all songs are ones with big replay value.
Theatre 10/10 Cinema 7/10 CD on max in the car 9/10.

I went into the film never having seen the performance, I'd booked tickets but due to covid the show was cancelled and I'd only listened to the soundtrack but this goes way beyond the amazing songs (and pretty much every single song is amazing).
The girls are all incredible actresses and as they say in the video before, they are clearly loving what they're doing and it's infectious! It makes you smile and want to join in with them. The whole show is creative and engaging; it's such a clever idea and so well executed. They cover some pretty deep topics but handle them so well and it really brings their stories to life.
What I enjoyed most though was how this is introducing a whole new generation to the Queens and how they are so much more than wives. It sends such an amazing message and I adore that this is how some kids are learning about the Queens for the first time.
All the best bits of theatre but with an actual good view and without paying £50 and being packed in like sardines.

- WissenswertesAll six original singers from original line-up returned for this filming and interestingly have also formed a pop group in real life.
