Disappointing Remake: Not Worth Watching

I'm extremely disappointed with this remake. I was hoping for something new and exciting, but unfortunately, it brings nothing to the table. Nothing stands out, and there's no reason to keep watching.

The acting is also unimpressive. The cast just goes through the motions, delivering mediocre performances. There's no emotional connection, no memorable moments, and no standout performances.

I fail to understand the purpose of this remake. Was it just a cash grab? Or is there something I'm missing? Whatever the reason, this film offers no redeeming value and is not worth your time.

Recommendation Don't waste your time and money on this film. Look for something better and more engaging.

I'm a fanatic

Challenges as an Actor in a Remake: As an actor, Abidzar certainly faces a big challenge in playing a role that is already well known in its original version. While the desire to make the character more unique is understandable, in a remake, there is a risk that such efforts could be seen as disrespectful to the original work or make the audience confused due to significant changes in the character.

Critique of Overly Free Interpretation: Finally, there could be criticism that this statement indicates a misalignment with the true needs of the adaptation. Characters in a remake should be close enough to the original version so that the audience feels they are seeing the story they love, but with new elements that make it relevant. If Abidzar focuses too much on creating a completely new character, it could make a character that should be easily recognizable feel alien or inconsistent with the essence of the story.

Call me fanatic

An actor who is rude and lacks good attitude. He is extremely arrogant, as if he doesn't need an audience. Keep him away from the film industry in this country. Educate him, make him study and go to school. Let this be a lesson for all production houses in Indonesia. I will cancel this person forever.

His unprofessionalism is unacceptable, and his arrogance only proves that he does not respect his audience. An actor should appreciate the people who support their work, not act as if they are above them. If he cannot handle criticism and refuses to improve, then he does not deserve to be in this industry.

A Business Review for Business Proposal

If you have read the webtoon version and watched the Korean drama series, you will notice significant differences in the film adaptation. The acting quality of the cast feels forced, and it seems like they haven't fully embraced their characters, making it hard to connect with the story.

The humor in the film often feels forced, leading to discomfort while watching. Many scenes are either confusing or missing, which disrupts the flow of the story. However, this didn't bother me much since I had already watched the TV drama version beforehand.

The age gap between the main male and female leads is poorly matched. In the original series, they were portrayed as mature individuals ready for marriage. However, in this film, the male lead comes off as an unstable teenager, lacking the successful and charismatic demeanor that the story requires.

My suggestion: if you've already watched the TV drama, skip this film as it will likely disappoint you.

verry disapointed

The recently released Indonesian remake of "A Business Proposal" is a significant disappointment. The acting is subpar across the board, with performances lacking depth and authenticity. Abidzar Al Ghifari's portrayal of the CEO, Utama, is particularly unconvincing. His attempt to embody a charismatic and ambitious leader falls flat, as he fails to capture the essence of a corporate executive. His performance lacks the gravitas and presence required for such a role, making it difficult for the audience to believe in his character's authority. This miscasting is exacerbated by Abidzar's own admission that he only watched one episode of the original series and chose to develop the character independently, which may have contributed to his lackluster performance. Overall, the film suffers from poor execution and fails to live up to the charm of its original Korean counterpart.

Not worth it to watch

Important thing in entertain world, It's important to maintain your own image and also the character you're playing, take an example from your senior actors and partners who are very professional in getting to know the character with watching the original drama for they're going to play, "I'm going to create my own character" is very inappropriate to do, especially if you're playing a character from a REMAKE FILM! I emphasize FILM REMAKE! And also the biggest mistake is to badmouth your audience! I hope all the producer and Director, please pay attention and review the actors you choose to play in your film. The quality of the actor is the key to the success of a film.

No respect

The best remakes should explore the original characters of the work rather than creating their own characters. So if you want to create your own character, don't include the word remake in it. It's better to make an original film with inspiration, don't remake it, even to the point of insulting the audience by calling it fanatic. A work definitely needs an audience, but with the lack of respect from the actors, everyone becomes lazy about watching the work. My suggestion for Falcon Pictures is to be more assertive in character selection so that this incident does not happen again. Thank you, I hope it is useful.

BOIKOT AJE NIH FILM

I'm giving this film a rating of 1 as a strong warning to the actor. His dismissive remark, labeling the fans as 'fanatic,' shows a lack of respect and responsibility from someone in the spotlight. Remember, 'Your mouth is your tiger'-your words carry weight and can inflict real damage. I hope this serves as a wake-up call not only for him but for all public figures: think before you speak, because careless words can undermine the very values of diversity and respect that we should all uphold.

Furthermore, this incident reflects a broader issue within the entertainment industry where a lack of sensitivity and accountability from celebrities can lead to widespread disillusionment among fans. The film's decision to include such divisive commentary has unfortunately overshadowed its artistic qualities. It is crucial that actors and public figures recognize the immense influence they wield and understand that their statements resonate far beyond the screen. This moment should serve as an opportunity for self-reflection and growth. If entertainers can take this criticism to heart and engage in meaningful dialogue with their audience, the overall quality of public discourse will improve, paving the way for a more respectful and inclusive cultural landscape. Ultimately, responsibility in speech is as important as the craft of performance itself.

Most cringe movie I've ever seen.

I don't understand why they chose the actor to be the lead actor, to be honest Indonesia has a better actor. All the male lead actors in this film have ever been scandalized. It's weird. Is it really a scandal that comes into consideration when choosing them?

Indonesia should have cleaned up to make the film industry better. Don't give a chance to people who don't have an attitude. Honestly, I'm ashamed to be an Indonesian who normalizes and supports stupid actors.

Actors should learn more, film school to learn the role well. Being an actor must have a brain beauty behavior too. Remember that!

Cucuku ojo lali nonton yo???

O my grandchildren, don't forget to watch the Korean drama remake film, if you boycott it, you'll end up with 7 derivatives, what's more, the person has already apologized, maybe this is a blunder, this is a film that is quite recommended, if you review it without watching it, it's not in accordance with etiquette, my grandson, I watched it until the end and forgot to take medicine while watching this film, watching this reminds me of this grandfather's youth, grandfather has watched the drama, the acting is really good, the acting is not bad As for typical Indonesian characteristics, there is Uncle Indro, Battery's friend from the past, still cute until now, I hope with this comment, Battery can live longer, Amen.

Unpopular Opinion? Maybe. But Here's My Honest Take on the Movie Adaptation of Business Proposal

I know some people might come at me for this, but honestly-the movie isn't as bad as the critics make it out to be. Let me break it down in detail.

Cinematography & Acting: As expected from Netflix, the cinematography is top-notch-clean visuals, HD quality, and a beautiful blend of rural and modern aesthetics. That much is definitely delivered. The acting? While it may not be award-winning, it's still decent. The female lead mirrors the original character quite well. Yes, some parts come off a little tacky, but she actually goes through solid character development as the story progresses.

Now, the male lead's character is a bit of a departure from the original. But you know what? I think that works in this context. If he had tried to mimic the nonchalant CEO vibe from the K-drama, it would've felt forced and out of place. His version fits the tone and theme of the film better.

As for the side characters-specifically Satrio-I personally wasn't a fan, but the acting overall is still decent. The secondary love story follows a familiar trajectory, much like the original.

Plot & Pacing: Yes, the core plot borrows heavily from the original series. But that's to be expected. What I found impressive was how they managed to recreate key iconic moments and weave them into a single 1 hour 57 minute film-essentially condensing over 16 hours of content. That's not easy to pull off. While it may not fully capture the charm of the original, it does manage to bring back a wave of nostalgia and emotional connection for fans.

Final Thoughts: In my opinion, the movie is a lighthearted, feel-good rom-com. It doesn't try to replace the original, nor does it need to. Instead, it feels more like a tribute-aimed at rekindling the emotions and hype we all felt watching Business Proposal.

I'm not someone who usually re-watches things, but this movie genuinely made me consider going back to the original drama.

So if you're someone who can set aside comparisons for just under two hours and watch with an open mind, I think you'll find this a charming and enjoyable experience.

My Verdict: "IF YOU'RE WILLING TO FORGET THE ORIGINAL BUSINESS PROPOSAL FOR JUST 1 HOUR AND 57 MINUTES, THIS IS A DECENT WATCH."

learn better for all actors!

I think maybe because this is a remake, of course there are differences in terms of culture and delivery of material in the drama and the movie, coupled with language differences that result in context translation that is quite difficult to adapt to the culture. But looking at some of the ACTORS who played the main characters, I think it has some pretty glaring shortcomings, especially in the aspects of story execution and chemistry between players. Compared to the original version, which has a dynamic storyline and humor typical of Korean dramas, this remake tends to feel less natural in delivering dialogue and comedy, sometimes even seeming forced. In addition, the development of the main characters, especially the CEO, also lacks a strong charismatic aura in my opinion, so his romantic interactions with the female lead feel less convincing. But perhaps cultural adaptation is also a challenge, as some Korean elements don't translate well into the Indonesian context, making some scenes less relevant or losing their emotional appeal. Even so, I am proud of the 100+ production crew who have done a great job editing and producing this movie. The cinematography is quite good, but some aspects of the acting and storytelling could have been deepened to be more natural and appealing to local audiences. Learn better fo all actors, don't forget to keep learning.

Not Worth Watching - Disappointing in Every Way

I had high hopes for A Business Proposal, but it turned out to be a complete letdown. The storyline is bland, the execution feels rushed, and worst of all, the lead actor (Abidzar) is extremely unlikable-not just on-screen but also in real life. His arrogant attitude completely ruins any charm the character was supposed to have.

The chemistry between the leads is nonexistent, the dialogue is cringe-worthy, and the humor falls flat. It feels like the production team put in minimal effort, hoping the show's popularity would carry it. Honestly, there are so many better dramas out there-don't waste your time on this one.

1/10. Would not recommend.

Please be more professional and more ethical

I was disappointed with the words of the main actor who were too arrogant and conceited. So that his mouth spoke harshly to the audience. Calling the audience "fanatics", and the actor doesn't seem to need an audience. He arrogantly said "THEY WON'T BE INVITED TO THE PREMIERE GALA" but why did Falcon appear to write a letter playing the victim? As if the audience is at fault if they don't watch and why should the audience think about Crew's fate? While Falcon and the main actor are anti-criticism and unprofessional. Now the audience has implemented "CANCEL CULTURE" as a warning so that in the future the film industry and actors can be more professional.

Disappointed

I was very disappointed with the poor casting. Plus they were too lazy to research the original characters, so the acting was bad. And they are so arrogant that they don't want to accept criticism, they just become even more arrogant. For readers and viewers of the Korean version, this is very disappointing. Moreover, Abidzar's acting is very far from the character of a CEO, at least he would wear a tie and neat clothes. But I quite enjoyed Ariel's acting, As usual she is a very professional woman. Always listens to good criticism and suggestions. Hopefully Ariel Tatum will not meet someone like Abidzar again. These 2 stars are to appreciate Ariel Tatum and the production team. Keep your spirits up.

acting was bad and seems not well prepared

Why? Cause actor didnt watching the original one, or even read the webtoon, this is a remake film, so if u guys made a remake movie but just being your personality like what abidzar said, better make your own film, don't DARE to remake. AND YOUR ACTOR, ABIDZAR, TOO GOOD TO BE CALLED ACTOR WITH THAT ATTITUDE! And the others too, they actually not watching the korean drama or read webtoon, ahh they just watch one episode right?, for falcon, please be wiser in choosing actor, there are still many indonesian actors who have better qualities. No worth it to watch

This film is not worth watching because the actors' acting is very bad and stiff so if you watch it you will get bored and one of the actors named Abidzar has a bad attitude. Before the film was shown, he insulted potential viewers by saying that he didn't need an audience, so instead of watching this film, he might as well save his money. Because it's more valuable than watching a bad film that makes you nauseous because the actors' acting is bad. If you're curious, you still want to watch it, that's okay, but I remind you to be careful when you feel nauseous because you see the actors' acting.

ARROGANT ACTOR, ACTOR AND ACTRESS IS ALWAYS BLUNDER

An actor said doesn't need an audience for the movie. In addition, he also said kdrama fans is being fanatic because they critic about his statement "i didn't and don't learn about the character because i want to make my own character based on script". Bro, its remake not inspiration or adaptation. Its REMAKE, so you should act based on original masterpiece unless you make a film and you write "adaptation by a business proposal". Poorly, an actor initial A did not promote his film properly without any false statement and destroying your own target audience. Maybe some audience disappointed with an actor doesn't have a vibe with an original actor, Ahn hyo seop so he triggered and attack an audience with that statement.

Good weekend movie watch

Sorry, I just reviewed it today, I love, love, LOVE this remake film, this is one of the best remake films I have ever seen in the cinema. The acting, music, storyline, and of course the direction of this film are all very good. The actors are very good in carrying out their respective roles. I was hooked from the start. I highly recommend this film. You will laugh and cry with joy when you watch this light romantic comedy film. And I was impressed by Abidzar Al Ghifari and Ariel Tatum whose acting was top notch. Supported by good seasoned actors who support the film, Falcon is indeed the best for remake films.

Honest Review from an actual viewer and fan of the OG

I watched this film solely because I LOVE the Korean-made series. It's my comfort show. The plot, in general, is silly and the writing is flawed but it's fun and charming and I think this Indonesian cast and production team did an incredible job taking an already quirky concept and giving it a fresh set of jokes with new faces.

This is a good (not great) film based on a good, well-loved show and great webtoon. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But neither is the Korean series. And that's kind of why we love it. Dozens of romcom tropes piled on and acted out in an oddly relatable way and sometimes awkward way.

This is just another feel-good cutesy love story to make you feel cozy. One actor's misplaced words about not being influenced by the original is not a reflection of the entire cast and crew. The lead actress deserves more credit for her wonderful contribution beyond all the drama, too.

This Movie Sinks Under Lead Actor's Wooden Performance

Despite its promising premise, A Business Proposal struggles to stay afloat, largely due to its male lead actor's lifeless performance. His delivery is stiff, emotions feel forced, and key dramatic moments fall flat. While the supporting cast and visuals try to salvage the film, they can't compensate for the lack of charisma at the center. What could have been a gripping story turns into an unintentionally dull experience.

Bad attitude actor

Yo, imagine waiting for an Indonesian version of a K-drama masterpiece, expecting all the uwu vibes and sweet moments, only to get... this. Like, we came for the cute rom-com feels, but what we got was a whole circus-on and off the screen. Abidzar Al-Ghifari: Wrong Cast, Wrong Vibes! So, let's talk about the elephant in the room. Abidzar plays the boss guy in the movie, but honestly? Big nope. Dude made some spicy comments online that triggered a whole boycott movement. Not the kind of viral you want when launching a movie, right? People couldn't decide what was worse-his comments or his acting.

Ariel Tatum carried this film on her back, but even she couldn't save it. The supposed romantic tension between her and Abidzar felt like two colleagues awkwardly trying to rehearse lines. Seriously, their scenes together had less spark than a dead battery. Rushed Storyline, Missed Opportunities The movie felt like it was speedrunning the plot. Important moments? Gone. Character development? Apa tuh? It's like they knew the movie was sinking and just wanted to get it over with.

Horrible Remake

A trash show of a remake movie made only to show how sad and terrible Indonesia's film industry is. Despite having tons of choices on how to produce the movie, they chose such unprofessional actors that behaved like brats outside the movie and even worse in the promotions, remade a good plot into disappointing storyline with awful characterizations, and overall produced an unredeemable movie. It was an understatement to say that this movie was insanely awful because watching this movie felt like being dragged in hell over and over. Needless to say, not only this remake was unnecessary but this remake was also such an unforgettably horrible of a movie that it gave such a huge embarrassment for the Indonesia's film industry or even the film industry in general.
