Hannah Waddingham has joined the cast of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2,” otherwise known as “Mi:8.” Director Christopher McQuarrie revealed the news in a Friday Instagram post.

“And Hannah Waddingham… #Godspeed #DeadReckoning,” he captioned an image of Waddingham on set, wearing a cap and standing in front of what looks like a naval base.

The “Ted Lasso” star will make her debut in Paramount’s storied spy franchise on June 24, 2024. “Dead Reckoning Part One” is slated to release on July 14, 2023. An early trailer for “Part One” showed Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt speeding off a cliff on a motorcycle, wearing only a parachute. The film will also star Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Shea Whigham, Frederick Schmidt, Cary Elwes and Esai Morales.

MTV Entertainment Studios and producer Lashan Browning have launched Antoinette Media, a full-service production company.

The joint venture, which Browning owns a majority stake in, will produce a deep and wide-ranging slate that spans unscripted titles, documentaries, scripted features and star-driven digital formats.

Antoinette Media is supported by a “substantial equity investment” from MTV’s parent company Paramount Global.

In 2020, Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios Chief Creative Officer and President of Content Nina Diaz tapped Browning to fuel the growth of content led and produced by Bipoc- and women-owned production companies. The innovative partnership provides funding, production infrastructure, services and staff to develop top-quality content and producers.

Dinner Party — the jazz/hip-hop supergroup comprised of Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, and 9th Wonder — have shared “Insane,” a new song recorded with Ant Clemons. Listen to the single below.

“Insane” boosts a sampled drum loop from Mtume’s “Juicy Fruit” with fuzzed out bass, layering Glasper’s famous piano and Clemons’ vocals on top of the 1983 track’s syncopated rhythms. The result is what Dinner Party does best, blending the soul of R&b with hip-hop production.

Dinner Party formed back in 2020, when the group released a self-titled album that they quickly refreshed with Dessert, a new version of the LP that featured Snoop Dogg, Herbie Hancock, Alex Isley, and more. One such song, “Freeze Tag,” was one of the best releases of the year.
