Pro tip: The clips during the closing credits are the only funny thing about this movie. Skip to 1hr17 and after that watch a good movie, not this one.
A bit like a British Cohen brothers if they had to spent too much time in east London and got annoyed with all the people there. Some lovely little scenes and characters and all moves along at a pace. Buring is excellent as 'mad aunty' Melody, just as you would expect. Not all performances quite up to the same standard, which is what stops it being an 8* review. But all in all well worth a watch!
This film skewers everyone - gentrifiers, estate agents, taste-makers, hipsters, landlords, and that very specific type of blonde beauty, only found in London, who makes a career of looking too good for people to say no to. Melody is toxic and you'll adore her anyways, and her victims are too hip or too hapless to see it coming. A great watch for anyone with a landlord, an empty wallet, or a gag reflex triggered by concept food.

Not sure what exactly in this movie is supposed to make people laugh or even smile, but it does give a fairly accurate portrayal of your typical shallow-water British brat, together with her lack of purpose, direction, values and morals.
There's more and more movies being classed as comedies that can only get one depressed, and this is certainly one of them.

Hit-and-miss. Some amusing moments, some less so and some dodgy.
Overall, I think 'Hot Property' is an OK film. Forgettable, wouldn't rewatch and probably wouldn't recommend. However, it does have a weird sorta quirky side to it that I did fairly like, even if it is nonsensical a lot of the time.
MyAnna Buring is, honestly, very good. For what she has to work with, she gives a pretty sturdy performance; I'd be interested in seeing her other work. Away from Buring, Alex Ferns is probably the pick. Most of the other characters are either boring or unfunny, or even both.
Not terrible, at least in my opinion. Still, I wouldn't say it's worthy of a watch.
