The Story is completed

From the beginning of the series, the processing of the characters was transferred in depth, although it was passed quickly. I think the stories of all the characters in the series are complete. Season 2 will only harm this beauty. Sometimes beautiful things have to end in order to remain beautiful forever. If we analyse the character of Ahmet Kural, I guess everyone who suffers from loneliness has found a piece of themselves. People think that they live in a film in which their own life plays the leading role. Maybe that's why they always think that they will get rid of monotony, unhappiness and loneliness. There is a very beautiful saying that some people come to life only to suffer.

Different Perspective

In my opinion, it was a series with a different perspective when looking at the history of Turkish series. We watched situations that were far from clichés. I only deducted 2 points. The musical elements were what bothered me the most. There are so many musicals that almost half of the movie is spent with clips. Other than that, a few episodes were very boring. The events are dragged on too long. It started to get even more boring after the second episode. These negativities are things that can happen in any series. It makes us Turks happy to see such things. Ahmet Kural is perfect for the lead role. I don't think anyone else could have portrayed the character of Baki so well. An extraordinary Turkish production that should be watched.

A successful work straight from life!

The production we watched is far from flashy scenes and offers emotional and enjoyable moments from real life.

Were there boring scenes? Yes. But giving this a 1-star rating makes me question people's sanity or integrity.

The ones giving it 1 star are Turks with an inferiority complex.

At some points, the series spoils itself even before it begins, and someone in the comments didn't like that!

The series is set in a gloomy atmosphere, with death as its main theme, but they've brightened it with family, love, children, and a variety of emotional transitions.

If shot in Europe, it would've been a Golden Globe nominee.

Enjoy watching.

I can not stop crying...

It is one of my favorite TV series right now. The story line is quite hearth touching and focusses man's disadvantaged life with a uncommon job. Musics at the end of each part too emotional paralel with the how harsh the situation. Each part follows a self development for the main character name is "Baki" and the way of the path such a unique for Turkish TV series that is also touches people hearth. Background sounds are too crystal clear also used to help you that emotional feelings with. I want to thank you to TABII and TRT to stream such a unforgettable TV series. I am very interested to see 2nd and even 3rd seasons of this TV series.

Are you concerned about what happens to your body after you die?

This is a series that everyone who thinks about it should watch. The internal conflicts of the character played by Ahmet Kural, finding things that are ordinary for everyone strange, seeing situations that are abnormal for everyone as very normal and being used to them like "the dead" and having difficulty finding someone to marry, I learned a lot from myself. What happens to a single undertaker or a body washer who is over 30 without a mother may seem funny at times for those who know Ahmet Kural and his facial expressions as a comedian. I laughed a lot in some scenes. And there is also this: the issue of God's plan. From episode 1 to episode 10, you will see how every problem is solved with pain and distress and what other tests it opens the door to. Watch it with your spouse if you have one. If you are single, this series will hurt you a little. In my opinion, it may be one of the top 3 best international Turkish TV series made in recent years.

Best tv show ever

Best tv show i have ever watched. First 10 minutes you laugh every second. Last 10 minutes you cry every second. It is very emotional and touches your heart. Gassal means in islam when you die before they put the body under the ground a washer cleans the body and prepare for the funeral. All actors especialy Ahmet Kural put a very undisputed performance. Also the songs are amazing and matches the emotional scenes. The episodes are thirty minutes long. I finished the first season in one day and willing to watch season 2. Finally who has involved such an amazing show congratulations from my heart.

Just wanted to see the first episode

I am a busy man don't have too much time for serials but I wanted to see the first episode as the subject of the serial is unique ,then I have finished all episodes in 6 hours consecutively. Although I have predicted the end of season ,very interesting stuff and you can't stop watching. If you will watch prepare your self to go with the flow. In the in beginning of the serial you may think it is a comedy. But when you proceed you understand that it is a very strong drama. Ahmet Kural is magnificent with his acting. He is well known with his comedian part but he proves his level of acting. The script is unique, original and then includes legendary phrases as "deaths have plenty of time living are always in hurry".

Great show

This is a mix of both great subtle comedy and heartfelt drama. Ahmet Kural is a great actor. Show does everything warms your heart, makes you smile and cry. I hope they don't spoil it by making a second season. The music is great. I would buy the album if they ever made one that contains those songs. Selçuk Aydemir is beyond a just comedy director. I can not remember when last time a show touched my heart. Scenes are so unique and has a vintage feeling to it. Drapes in Baki's house are straight from the 80's. The town that they are living in is a such warm place, i would live there. This is a kind of show that you buy subscription for.

Çok iyi ( VERY GOOD)

Honestly, the show was really good, no lie. I wasn't even planning to watch it, but thanks to my dad. He said it looked like a comedy film and suggested we watch it. I turned it on, and from the first episode to the last, we both laughed, cried, and realized some truths. My family and I loved the show, and my relatives, who watched it 2-3 times, said they were very impressed. Believe me, everything in the show-songs, acting, and the plot-is wonderful. If you are thinking of watching it, I recommend you do. It already has an IMDb rating of 8.6 out of 10. I am sure its rating will become even clearer with more reviews and stars over time. But if you watch it, you will say, "I'm glad I watched it." Kudos to the producers, enjoy watching.

A Different Yet Flawed Drama

I watched Gassal from start to finish. It was good, dramatic, and occasionally funny. However, there were repetitive scenes that felt unnecessary and too long at times. Additionally, the episode titles and images often gave away the ending. For instance, it wasn't hard to predict the final scene of the last episode. When they hinted at a very sad ending, it became obvious. Thankfully, the ending wasn't as dramatic as I expected.

The series felt a bit overrated. Episode 3 was terrible, and some episodes were mediocre. However, episodes 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 were good. Overall, I'd rate it a 7/10 because the concept, while unique, didn't feel like something that could be significantly expanded. The stories were well-crafted, but there were many repetitive scenes that didn't add any humor or depth.

Ahmet Kural's performance was excellent, but most of the supporting characters were mediocre. The song "Icim Yanar" at the end really touched me; its harmony with the ending was perfect. I also liked the images at the beginning of the episodes and the opening theme song. However, despite the short duration of the series, there were too many music transitions.

I only pushed through because I was curious about the ending. Otherwise, episodes 2, 3, and 4 had some painfully boring scenes that I struggled to get through. Sensitive viewers might find this series deeply emotional and dramatic. When I think of everything that happened to Baki as a whole, I feel sad.

In conclusion, I'd give this series a 7/10. I can't rate it lower because it's different and intriguing in its own way.

A series that makes you cry, laugh, and contemplate life

Gassal is a masterpiece that deftly strikes a balance between humour, emotional depth, and existential reflection. From start to finish, it captivated me with its vibrant characters, witty dialogue, and heartwarming stories.

The series takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that will have you laughing one moment and reaching for tissues the next.

Gassal is a captivating series that skillfully combines humor, emotional depth, and existential reflection. It features vibrant characters, witty dialogue, and heartwarming stories. Highly recommend everyone to watch this masterpiece. It isn't 2.5hr long episodes either which is refreshing.

idle talk disease

A little bit more than ordinary, very close to boring, extented with empty chatters, an extraordinary theme and actor wasted.

This is one of the summary of the funds wasted by short video platforms like Gibi and Tabii and the current situation in the Turkish film industry.

Watchable Drama But Overhyped

Gassal has a strong dramatic storyline and delivers some emotional moments, but it's not as extraordinary as social media suggests. The emotional depth is well-executed, and the performances are generally good, but the pacing slows down at times.

Some scenes feel unnecessarily long, and the high expectations set by online hype might leave some viewers slightly disappointed. Still, it's a watchable film for drama lovers-just not a masterpiece...

A Perfect dark comedy

A Perfect dark comedy mixed with loneliness and sadness.

The Gassal is very popular in Turkey now.

While watching the series, you constantly question life and death. The value judgments of society and the roles and expectations it assigns to you are truly the reality of life.

You may find something from yourself while watching it. A sad black humor.

After always seeing Ahmet Kural in comedy movies, it feels very different to see her in such a series and character.

Ahmet Kural did Perfect job and the supporting actors / actress was really good. Director Selçuk Aydemir was good.

Now I'm looking forward to the next season. I hope they continue in the same vein.

A unique drama that can't be replaced

I just finished watching Gassal, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The story is remarkably original, the script is written with exceptional care, and the dialogues are emotionally engaging. The cast is perfectly chosen, the cinematography is visually striking, and the music reaches the heart even before it reaches the ears.

What makes Gassal stand out is the way it blends emotion, depth, and realism. I laughed with Ahmed and his children, cried over the loss of Brother Nazim, felt compassion for Elif, and connected deeply with Baki. While many series struggle with their endings, this one was beautifully realistic and satisfying.

I usually find Turkish dramas to be predictable or overly dramatic, but Gassal exceeded every expectation. It was powerful, moving, and masterfully produced.

I rarely give a perfect score, but this series had a special impact on me. I will remember it for a long time, and I will always remember the person who recommended it to me.

One more, new and original work from Selçuk Aydemir.

I finished the series two days later after it had released. It flows like a water. I loved many things, yet dislike some of the things. For example, Ahmet Kural (Bâki-Main Character) has played his role brilliantly. I felt his pain, desperation, fear etc sincerely. Mr. Muharrem has played brilliantly as well. On the other hand, scenery has several predictable things because they had given us clues in the beginning and episodes. The topic is really attractive, dead-body washer is not common topic. Some people state that it is a series of government, it is overrated. Nonetheless, it is not government's project. You will be terribly surprised at the last episode. It is both sad and shocking. My overall point is 9 out of 10. But I would like to give 10 point. You should absolutely watch.

So good Turkish TV series.

One of the most popular reasons for this series is that it is related to life. There are people like us in the series. Turkish people do not live love games in luxury villas in suits or mini dresses. After watching TV series in the mainstream media that lasted more than 2 hours and made the viewer lose self-respect, this series was like a cure for me in every sense.

I won't deny that I seriously cried in the final episode. Ahmet Kural's acting is indisputable, the script is quite good, and it is a very impressive work with Sahin Kendirci breaking into the song at the time when the emotion is at its strongest.

I would love for the series to be opened to the world, but I don't know if it would have the same effect since there are so many traces from us. Also, because there is a lot of pressure on TV series that are popular all over the world, they can fail in Season 2. I hope we don't say the same for Gassal, we are looking forward to Season 2. My score is 10/10.

A good production

It is a beautiful production because it reminds us that we are human, that we feel something from ourselves, and that we all have wounds, troubles, joys, and sorrows. Ahmet Kural has shown very good acting. The end of the episode music is very good. Even though we did not shed tears, it made us sad, it made our eyes misty. It made us understand what we have experienced, what we will experience, and what others have experienced. It reminded us that we are actually tired of ridiculous local productions. It is important to remember that the stage shots and images are also good. Many thanks to those who contributed. You made us face the truth. Whether there is a sequel or not, I liked it.

A waste of time.

The series has an overly simplistic and highly predictable storyline, making it a frustrating experience for viewers who expect engaging and thought-provoking content. After watching several episodes, you're left wondering why you wasted your time on such a shallow narrative. The constant repetition of clues about future events eliminates any sense of suspense or excitement, leaving nothing for the audience to anticipate. The lack of depth and originality in the plot makes it feel uninspired and formulaic. It seems more effort and resources were allocated to the series' promotion than its actual production quality, as the marketing hype far outweighs the content's substance. The disproportionately high ratings raise suspicions, suggesting they may be influenced by government-aligned trolls rather than genuine viewer satisfaction. Ultimately, the show falls short of its promises, failing to deliver the entertainment value it claims to offer.

Gassal

Gassal is a series that captivates its audience with its deeply impactful atmosphere and compelling story. Masterfully exploring the fine line between life and death, it offers both a thrilling and emotional experience. The depth of its characters, combined with outstanding performances, draws viewers into the narrative. Its visual aesthetics and cleverly crafted script details add a unique quality to the series. Gassal is not just a show but a masterpiece that prompts viewers to reflect on the meaning of life. It's a must-watch for anyone seeking a profound and unforgettable experience. Very good.

What a Great Job Guys. Well Done!

First, the Turkish film industry needs more productions like this. Thank you so much to whoever contributed this dark comedy to the industry!

The pilot shows Selcuk Aydemir's signature. We need more directors like Selcuk. What a great job.

I do like Ahmet Kural's actorship. However, I felt like he regularly had trouble transitioning between absurd comedy and drama reactions. But maybe it's just me, as he used to be in the primarily absurd comedy genre.

After all my positive feedback, let me mention some negatives. I find most of the rest of the cast quite theatrical, though maybe the narrative wanted to put it that way. Yet, I think there are many unnecessary dialogues, leading to the flow dropping suddenly affecting my focus and shifting to something else.

Nevertheless, this is a great production, especially considering the industry's tornado.

I can't come to myself

Gassal is a series that touches the deepest sorrows within, making you feel the cold face of death to your very core. The tragic life stories of its characters drag the audience into profound grief, while the mourning of those left behind deeply moves the heart. The realism of the narrative portrays death not merely as an end but as a burden difficult to carry. It vividly shows how fragile life is and how precious fleeting moments of happiness can be. This production is not just a series to watch but an experience that prompts self-reflection and immerses the viewer in an indescribable sadness.

Best ever Drama

In my opinion, Turkish dramas are one of the best in the world, and this series is far best of the dramas in Turkiye. All the ideas that are generated are very deep and from our own lives. They are interwoven and completed in one big idea about dying. Sometimes I felt myself hard not to weep. On the other hand, the series is a bit short, ends quickly. But gives the message in a great way. I think the series should also be dubbed into English so that it can be watched all over the world. Thanks. Looking forward to series 2. The character Gassal played really well in the series. He is perfect for this character, his speeches are on point, as if he was tailor-made for this character.

The best of recent times.

It is a production that can make us feel in the best possible way what the Turkish people go through while burying their loved ones, their emotions, and the experiences of the officers responsible for carrying out the necessary procedures.

To explain it all, it took me two evenings to finish the first season. The songs of the artist named Ferdi Tayfur, who was loved by the Turkish people, were used a lot in this production, and this much-loved artist passed away a few days after the series was broadcast. Thus, this already popular series became even more popular.

If you have the opportunity to translate, I recommend you watch this movie in your own language.

A Unique Blend of Drama and Subtle Comedy

Gassal is a captivating drama that masterfully combines profound psychological themes with subtle comedic elements. Ahmet Kural's portrayal of Baki and Hande Soral's role as Nihan reveal the hidden, complex layers of the human soul, drawing viewers into an emotional and nuanced journey. The series excels at conveying intense emotional conflicts through silence and meaningful glances, while well-placed humor provides balance and relief. This unique blend offers a fresh and original viewing experience that stands apart from typical dramas. Overall, Gassal is a thoughtful and engaging exploration of human nature, deserving a solid 10/10.
