Throughout the movie, there are holes in the plot, questions that never get answered, important details just glossed over. I actually thought the acting was quite good for a low budget sci-fi film. The sound was just horrible, with uneven levels from scene to scene, and random very loud footsteps that seemed out of place. I found myself really wanting to know more about the astronaut, details about where he came from, what his civilization was like, but absolutely no details were given. Twice, we saw the start of conversations that might reveal these details, and the scenes just ended before we could learn anything more about the astronaut. The real question the movie asks us to think about is "What would you agree to, to save the life of your child? How far would you go?" I think it did a fair job of addressing the emotions, and torment that making a decision like this would evoke.
Interesting and rather predictable. I enjoyed it. The sound recording, though, was terrible. I had to have my remote in my hand throughout the entire movie, adjusting the volume all the way up till the scene changed and then had to reduce the blaring sound.
Was a good idea poorly executed. Horrible dialog. Poor sound recording. Sounded like everyone was clomping around half the time. The ending made no sense and brought about no satisfying conclusion.

Corny, sugary, cloying minor film with nothing interesting going on.
May be it is a metaphor for something. May be it has a deeper meaning.
But, for me it was boring, slow and the ending was pretty obvious.
It is good for insomnia, though.

This movie was enjoyable and thoughtful.
Zoe and the Astronaut is a gently-paced movie that explores human emotions with a slight sci-fi twist.
Don't expect any bells and whistles of the typical sci-fi genre. Just sit back, enjoy, and let this movie reveal itself to you.

This movie started out ok. Then I noticed how the characters wore the exact same clothes every day. The dads tie changed and Zoe's scarf may have changed, but it was the same outfit every day. This may have been a low budget film, but the least they could have done was give them different outfits for each day depicted. I mean, they had enough makeup to slather the aliens face!!
Unusual to see such a heartwarming love drama in the Sci-Fi genre. Most of the time they are over the top with special effects, usually with accompanying strife and angst. This movie combines romance, drama, and Sci-Fi all in one movie. Great story, great photography, good acting, and a simple plot. There was a minimum of special effects, but they were absolutely not needed to make this little gem of a movie work. I only wished it had lasted longer than just 88 minutes.
