In the newest development, Deadline reports that The Madison has cast Kurt Russell as a series regular. Russell, an Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor, is no stranger to the Western genre, having starred in the classic 1993 film Tombstone as Wyatt Earp. Russell also, early on in his career, appeared in two episodes of the Western series Gunsmoke.

With a combined worldwide gross of over $2.5 billion, Planet of the Apes is the longest-running American science fiction film series in the history of cinema. And now, not one or two, but all four films in the Planet of the Apes reboot series have started trending globally on streaming.

While Dawn of the Planet of the Apes currently climbs the HBO streaming charts (FlixPatrol), one cannot help but notice the degree of similarity the main antagonist, Koba, has with Black Panther‘s Killmonger. Though one did not directly inspire the other, the parallels between the two villains are far too numerous to ignore, making one revisit Reeves’s film in a new light.

This is not the first time a comparison has been drawn between the two movie villains, and yet, the fans are not only divided between their character arcs and storylines, but also convinced that Koba exists as a more ruthless and elevated alternative to the Marvel villain. And there is more than ample cause to prove and support that theory, too.

Exclusive: Chad Rook has joined Netflix’s My Life with the Walter Boys as a recurring guest star for Season 3, Deadline has learned.

The actor will appear in at least four episodes of the third season, which begins filming in Calgary soon, Deadline understands. Details about his character are not yet available. Netflix declined to comment.

The news comes ahead of Season 2, which lands on Netflix on August 28. My Life with the Walter Boys was renewed for a third season in May.

Based on the book by Ali Novak, the My Life with the Walter Boys follows Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) as she moves in with her late mother’s best friend Katherine (Sarah Rafferty) who has nine sons and one daughter.

James Gunn recently sat down for an interview with the French outlet Konbini, and during the conversation, he opened up about the movies that have inspired him over the years. He talked about his all-time favorite films, some recent ones he loves, and what’s influenced his new Superman movie.

While Gunn said he’s always changing his personal rankings, one thing he seemed sure about was that the Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

In 2024, the first Planet of the Apes movie in more than a half-decade was released as the start of a new era of the franchise at Disney. Silo is a very popular American dystopian series that premiered on May 5, 2023, on Apple TV+. It is based on the eponymous sci-fi series written by Hugh Howey. Currently, the series has two seasons, with the second one still airing. The first season aired from May 5, 2023, to June 30, 2023, while the second season premiered on November 15, 2024, and will air until January 17, 2025.

Both seasons consist of 10 episodes each, which will bring the total tally to 20 when the current airing season ends in January next year. The series stars Rebecca Ferguson as Juliette Nichols. She is joined by several main cast members and a varied cast of secondary and guest roles.

Director Wes Ball refers to “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” the latest installment in the re-energized franchise, as something of a “soft reboot.” As a fan of both the original 1968 film with Charlton Heston as well as the more recent trilogy helmed by Matt Reeves, Ball was careful to hold on to the goodwill that this story already possessed.
