Excellent heart warming love story

I recommending everyone who wants the watch a good bl tv show. The story is heart warming and feels nice. It was nice that the subject was realistic and worth the problems in real life. In addition, the fact that both characters supported each other in the problems they faced in their lives, but never interfered with the course of troubles and overcame the problems with their own, was the most basic thing that made this story different from the others.. Also as a manhwa reader i could say that i love how they the follow manghwa storyline. And the actors who played jin and hirukawa is perfecty fit in the characters. And they reflected the personalities and energies of the characters on the show in a very beautiful way.

Our Love

This is another school themed BL series, the kind about a good student falls for a bad boy. I guess this opposite attracts stuff is indeed a popular one. Maybe because it's all about the forbidden fruit, especially when it's about BL. It doubles the guilty pleasure. Although technically, the bad boy in this story wasn't really a bad seed. He's just a victim of unfortunate circumstances and a bad parent. The plot was very straightforward, with zero plot twists. The visual was good, just like the acting. There's no heavy sex scenes in it, in case you're wondering. And for those who hate sad endings, rest assured, you're not gonna find any in this movie.

"or do you want to do it in japanese?", JiHoon

Ranking it a good drama, my score for this love story covers exactly one aspect- yearning. I watched a reel featuring one of the leads feeding the other water. Emotion depicted by the actors and framing of the scene escalated a tint of salvation through love in my perspective. Complete surrender exhibited by 'Haruki', "infect me, even a little" impressed me. Plot was nothing new but it succumbed me to watch, waiting every week. Story is set in modern Kanto prefecture based on a Korean Manhwa. Kisses looked influenced from 'Doukyusei'. The actors were not only compatible but also apt for the roles. Kenshin has a gravitational gaze. Junsei being a fudanshi aided their cozy romance. Scriptwriter has done a great work in condensing the webtoon into a short drama that looked native. It would have been far more intense if made in the original language.

Everything is good until it is not. Don't delve into personal lives. Let the narrative remain wholesome in your last impression.

Beautiful story, beautifully told

I loved every character portrayal, the story, the imagery, everything. This is a masterpiece.

Sometimes BL is an overused school-kid trope, generally involving engineering majors. This is not that. It's a beautiful story that is well told. An unlikely (from the outside) pair find solace for their loneliness together, and embark on an emotional, twisting journey. No spoilers, but I will say it's sort of a happy ending. It could be happier if it wasn't for some legal discrimination, but that's not something the writers can change alone.

Kudos to the whole cast and crew for making this lovely series.

A Beautiful Journey

This show deeply resonates with me. As an adaptation of the manhwa, it captures the raw emotions of love, pain, and resilience in a way that feels profound and impactful. The characters, with their struggles and triumphs, remind me of the complexities faced by many in difficult situations.

Every moment feels authentic, and the chemistry between the actors is palpable. I found myself laughing, crying, and reflecting on these characters' strengths! It's more than just a story: it's a journey of the heart. If you seek something that touches your soul, this show is a must-watch. It lingers with you long after the final credits.

Absolute reality and humanity

In this hetero ocean, two fish appear, each with its own sea and deep down they have doubts about who they really are... Japan produces LGBTQ+ projects, ranging from complete strongholds to completely unrealistic pieces based on manga, but still Japanese society as a whole is not so open to human differences on the outside, traditions and uniformity are adhered to. This wonderful piece is proof of how these two characters were shy and approached their inner differences so cautiously. That is why, in my opinion, this series is so different from most others, which offer unreality, fairy tales and often we don't find many hetero characters in the project. Thanks to the director, the entire team and both guys who put that special Japanese charm and absolute REALITY into it, it is civil, HUMAN and for me not 10/10, but 11/10.

Someone here mentions whether the project would have been so highly rated if it weren't for BL. Of course it wasn't. After all, the hetero characters wouldn't have to fumble around so much, come to terms with their difference on the outside, and it would have been a completely normal series.

Must watch.

The story and dialogue is so beautifully written. It captures first love and the struggles of gay people very well. The acting in it is truly amazing. The actors did a very good job portraying love between the main characters so well. I love how the dialogue is used to describe the hardship and love the characters felt in the series. I would really recommend people to give this a watch!! But be aware you will cry. The storyline is sad but it captures queer love in a very realistic aspect.

I gave this an 8 because the ending wasn't very satisfying to me. But I will say it deserves way more hype. I didnt read the original manhwa that this was adapted from, so I can't say whether or not the plot is similar. If you are thinking about watching this, please do!!

Best BL drama I've ever seen

I've read a lot of BL stories, fanfics, I've watched lota of animes, dramas, and this one is the best one so far.

It's subtle, it's sweet and realistic. There's no dumb humor, no cringe, no caricatural showcase of homosexuality. They start of as friends, and they really care for each other which can be shown mostly in their actions. Words aren't needed. They support and help each other, they look out for one another... The portrayal of emotions is incredible. I love the characters, I love that they're not perfect and have flaws. But they find each other and bloom, realizing there's more to life than they thought. Minase taught Hirukawa that studying and college can be rewarding, Hirukawa taught Minase that not all relationships are meaningless. The slow, increasing love, is very soft and pure. The drama shows hardships and family dysfunctions, too. To me, it's so much more than just a "cute gay show". Also, the story might seem mundane or boring for those who don't see the details and little symbols. You won't enjoy it if you aren't sensitive or empathetic. I enjoyed every second of it and watched it all so fast because I got glued to the story... I'm tired of BL series with no communication, with toxic relationships, awful jokes and unrealistic gay stereotypes. "Our youth" is beautiful, sweet, domestic... and realistic. Watch it.

Shallow, Boring and Depressing

This one is extremely boring story with a pretty predictable plotline. The characters are flat one dimensional characters like straight out of a yaoi comic and characters have zero logic or motivations behind their actions. The so called poetic melody was redundant, shallow and repetitive and had very little depth or meaning to it. Minase acting like a girl whenever hirakawa messed with was honestly annoying. No reasoning was given why Hirakawa's father beat him up for no reason and why did Hirakawa took the theft allegation onto himself, trying to be a hero? Absolutely unrealistic and unrelatable! Certainly an overhyped show!

Two Seas, One Story: A Story of Youth, Pain, Love

This Japanese TV series consists of 11 episodes and is adapted from a manga. The story follows two teenage boys who fall in love, offering a simple yet but heartfelt story. What sets it apart is its strong portrayal of the struggles of youth, the imagery and slice-of-life.

The story expresses the meeting of two different worlds, like two seas divided by borders. Minase is a top student who is highly focused on his studies, schedules, and grades. On the other side, Haruki is a troublemaker and mysterious boy who is the complete opposite of Minase. Despite their differences, they share one painful similarity: both come from broken families. Minase lives under the control of his strict mother, who forces him to follow her expectations, while Haruki suffers under the care of his alcoholic and abusive father. One day, Minase accidentally sees a different side of Haruki, leading their two separate worlds to intertwine. They begin to take notice of each other, though not as friends, as their differences keep them apart. However, as they learn more about one another, they slowly grow attached without realizing it. It is not until they watch a film made by Minase's father that they finally notice their feelings. They accept their love and begin a relationship unsure of what the future holds. Since controlling a relationship is challenging even for adults, the two teenagers struggle against the waves that push them apart. The story follows them as they handle these hardships, growing up and chasing their dreams. Years later, as adults, they meet again, bringing their journey full circle.

In my opinion, I absolutely love how the story beautifully expresses characters' development and their struggles in each episode. Every moment feels raw and real, making it easy to connect with Minase and Huruki's journey. The casts also express the personality and emotion of characters in a very beautiful way. Beyond the performances, the background music, images, and overall, perfectly match the storyline, enhancing the emotional depth of the series. As someone who has read the original manga, this adaptation exceeded my expectations in every aspect. It perfectly captures the aspect of the story, leaving a deep impact. The emotion and beauty of their relationship make this series stand out among other BL dramas.

To conclude, I highly recommend watching this show at least once in your life, even if you have never watched a Boys' Love series before. If you are a BL fan searching for a high-quality and realistic portrayal of love, this is a must-watch. I am certain you will fall in love with their story, just as I did. This is not just a romance, it is a heartfelt deeply heartwarming story of two boys whose paths unexpectedly collide, leading to a deep and meaningful bond. Do yourself a favor and watch it, you won't regret it!

A one note song

Sad. More sadness. Then a bit more sadness. It felt like a piano that only had one key.

The story itself had so many unfinished topics...that were only touched on but could have been far more developed. Just a few examples: 1) Domestic violence 2) Being raised by a single (or absent) parent 3) Gay marriage in Japan 4) Coming out in Japanese society 5) Alcoholism 6) The huge correlation between homosexuality and suicide rates (or even suicidal ideation)

All of these topics were touched upon, but then the story lept to the next sad topic.

I know many others loved this series but I kept wanting a more coherent, fully-developed storyline. To me it just felt like a very sad, half-baked cake.
