The female lead has surpassed my expectations.

She was in "The Glory" as the baddie but in this drama I fell in love with her acting skills. Judging from this drama, she will turn out to be a winner.

Anyone who feels women too have rights in this world should watch this. It's all about the hardship, heartaches, injustice and perils in life. Women of today should stand proud, respect themselves for their achievements and understand and remember we're not door mats to be trod on

To all the women before me and after, who fought for rights and are still liberating ourselves, I take this opportunity to salute/kow-tow to them all.

Korean Drama '' The Tale of Lady Ok '' is a historical drama about a young woman who starts as a servant and ends up being the voice of those who are pushed aside.

The drama has a unique story of a woman who pretends to be an aristocrat in order to escape death as a servant and becomes the legal champion for the poor. These legal battles were interesting and emotional, and the leading character's journey was inspirational as well.

On the other hand, the romance wasn't as great, though the ending was well handled.

Finally, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast and the main lead's was especially strong.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

Highly recommended. Normally I would not watch historical drama because the storyline always about the royal families fight for the throne, harming each others and the plots almost the same.

The Tale of Lady Ok, is an inspiring drama for a woman who knew to protect herself & her family and fight for the rights and justice in Joseon period. This really bring back the good sageuk drama featuring a strong female lead.

Ok-Tae-Yeong is a legal expert. She is smart, has an excellent work ethic. Even in difficult situations, she doesn't hesitate to help people. She is also never bond to her difficult life. That is why she is respected by people around her.

But she has a secret.

I love it as it is a fast-paced and interesting on every episode. We laugh, we tear, we angry by following the plots but you definitely can get hooked especially start from episode 3.

The story centers on Goodeokki, a resilient woman whose name translates to "Maggots." Born to slave parents, she faces brutal treatment from her cruel master and his vindictive daughter, who dehumanizes her with the name "Maggot." While selling peanuts disguised as a man, she encounters an illegitimate son who recognizes her worth and falls for her, ignoring societal prejudices.

As she navigates life under the identity of Ok Tae Young, she becomes a devoted daughter-in-law and an outstanding legal advocate, overcoming personal challenges, including a troubled marriage.

The doppelganger plot is a clever twist that deepens character development, keeping the narrative engaging across all 16 episodes. Goodeokki's transformation will make you laugh and cry; her advocacy skills are nothing short of inspiring.

This series, which Netflix has wisely chosen to present, is a refreshing departure from clichés. The dialogue is poignant, the performances are stellar, and the lessons conveyed are profound. Don't overlook this drama-it's pure gold! Watch it and experience the impact for yourself!

A new and excellent plot; I really enjoyed watching this series!

It tells the story of a smart girl in ancient Korea who, due to her interest in legal and criminal matters, steps into a new phase of her life.

The show also offers another perspective by highlighting the struggles and obstacles faced by a transgender individual in the past :) I congratulate the writer and director of this show, and I was also very satisfied with the actors' performances.

I give this drama a rating of 8 out of 10 and highly recommend it to everyone !!

The only flaw I see in this drama is the implausibility of Yoon-gyeom, not notifying or writing letters over the course of seven years to his family and wife as the reasons presented in the story, were completely unjustified in my opinion :
