Iqtidar started with a total different story with different background what I mean is Political Background. The characters are strong and the actors played well with these characters as directed.
I just love the way they made the main female lead a strong character otherwise mostly female leads are innocent whatever. Mehru played by Anmol Baloch is displayed beautifully and Shahnawaz played by Ali Raza was also represented as it should have been. The story started with great plot and Zain Shah as villain played well, I loved the way they didn't make villian nice too at the end instead they kept him the same as he was, neither the girl could change him nor the crime he did.
However, now the episodes seem boring with zero plot, and it's just all about Mehru and Shahnawaz and their LOVE.
The trope is not bad, but that doesn't happen in real life, if we look from that perspective. It has become all so cheesy.
So, it's 8/10 from me.

We did not start this show for urooj and rafay, we did not start this show for Bijan and Amal, we started this show for Shahnawaz and mehrunnisa and only Shahnawaz and mehrunnisa, I thought long and hard about why there is no character development in shah's character then I realised he has to have some screen time to be able to develop his character, how are we supposed to keep our interest if you show nothing of the people we started the show for, the entire episodes are just shippable and full of fillers that has nothing to do with the main couple, no one wants to watch urooj and rafay, the most forced characters in the history of television, show mehshah's story or just shut down this show.

What the hell is going on this show? How are the MAIN LEADS having 2 minutes of screen time in two episode per week combined? We have approximate 65 minutes of side characters every week and only 2-3 minutes of screen time for main lead couple, how are the director and makers so incompetent as to not know that the reason this show is a super hit is because everyone is watching this show only and only for Mehshah and no one else, but the show has a plotline for every side character but there's absolutely no story for the main couple, mehrunnisa was not introduced to us as this pathetic shallow woman who's fighting other woman for a man who won't even take a stand for her, doesn't care for her and disrespects her again and again by choosing everyone else above her, and is also two timing!!! Mehrunnisa was fierce, broke off her engagement at the slightest of disrespect from her fiancé, fought for what she believed in, had a job and a life, and now you're telling me her desperate act of fighting with Amal for a man who has no respect for her is her true essence? NO!!!! This is not what we signed up for
As for Shahnawaz, I'm genuinely speechless, the makers tried to copy murtasim's essence and I really thought wow, another male lead who's an absolute goner for his wife, like murtasim was, he never chose anyone above meerab, she was his life and his everything! No one mattered to murtasim except his wife, his wife that he fought the whole world for! We all thought murtasim's essence would actually be respected and for Shahnawaz too his wife would be his whole world, but alas! What a big big huge disappointment this two timer is, spineless, disappointing, cowardice beyond comprehension and pathetic. Shahnawaz is not even half a man murtasim was!
Loved mehshah so much in the beginning just like everyone else but now I'm extremely disappointed, which is why I'm going to take my 10/10 ratings back and rate it down to 1(unless the story improves) Reasons being :- 1) No screen time to main leads 2) too much focus on side characters 3) mehrunnisa being so out of character by letting Shahnawaz disrespect her AND fight other woman for a man who doesn't even want her (even if she is in love the mehrunnisa we love wouldn't stand being disrespected even for love) 4)Shahnawaz having zero character development, a wussy mama's boy, two timer, disrespecting his wife and him always being seen with everyone except his wife.
EXPECTATIONS I had with this drama- 1) Shahnawaz choosing mehru above everyone else 2) Shahnawaz obsessing over his wife like she's his everything and him not even being able to breathe without her (much so like murtasim) 3) main leads having all the screen time 4) mehru being her real fierce self and never letting anyone disrespect her.
DID I MENTION MORE SCREEN TIME AND ACTUAL PLOTLINE FOR THE MAIN COUPLE?

Enemies to lovers trope is top notch. First Pakistani female lead who's shown to be an epitome of women empowerment but with 'logic', if you know what I mean. The chemistry is fire and the story just ignores something, I am in love with the main leads. They did justice to their roles.
Rafay track is unnecessary, I feel like. Meanwhile for amal, I am having second thoughts because if she turns into a villain now it'll be interesting. I mean imagine her making mehrunisa get kidnapped and shahnawaz getting crazy for her.
Green entertainment is doing a good job with portraying strong female leads and should continue to do so.

It started off good & worth watching but then it totally went haywire & haven't been able to redeem it's worth since.
Especially the last week's episode where Muskaan's nail colors changed thrice in the same scene ... Bad direction no attention to detail ... These errors just ruin viewing experience altogether and btw it's just one that I have mentioned there are plenty in every episode... Amal's expressions are so off and character building of this drama is let's just say *unaccomplished* for lack of a better word lol SAD Writing SADDEST direction.
Something is terribly wrong with our directors and writers these days they are in great need for help!

UPDATE ON THE REVIEW-
taking back my ratings because the amount of screen time, the main couple, due to whom this drama is hit in the first place is 3 minutes out of 70 minutes in 2 episodes and it's absolutely laughable. No focus on main leads and the entire show is only being focal towards the side characters, this is my current rating of the show. As the show seems to be made for side characters with no plot and screen time for the main couple.
Review before- Anmol and Ali are truly an amazing example of chemistry gone right, writing could have a billion times better though, I understand what way they're going with the plot but I wish it was one where the hero knew what he was doing, I feel like his character could have explored the complexity of his emotions in so many other ways instead of giving his time to the fiancé he never cared for before, the Shahnawaz shah who wanted to focus on his career so much before suddenly being disinterested goes against everything he stood for and the core of his character in return has been lost.
And mehrunnisa, my girl is everything a girl could dream to be, stood for everything she believed in, had self respect be the core of her character, never let men lead and always formed her own way in her life even though she was discouraged for it all her life, her suddenly dedicating her life to fix a mama's boy wasn't what her character stood for. It was too out of character for her. I hope she goes back to work again and gain back the spine mehru had that we all adored. I still don't understand what they're trying to show between the couple because their scenes and emotions are all over the place. It's scene after scene instead of processing their respective interaction first, I truly hope it goes in a right way and the story is not rushed because then it will look too incompetent to everything we hope from this show and specially what we expect from a chemistry like the leads have.

Unfortunately tere bin was hit now they are copying that tere bin which itself was dust bin and their copy is literally cheap. Stop making these bold dramas spoiling mind of youth with these intimate scenes. Audience of these dramas are indian who are use too of watching these cheap romantic scene thats why they got soo much views from youtube but Pakistanis don't like these kinda dramas. Green was making diffr dramas but now they are also running for trp and views just like geo their target audience is also indians only for youtbe views now i realise only ary and hum is better they r not making these cheap romance rather covering social issues.

When I started watching it, it felt very mid; the story wasn't really interesting, unique, or new. I didn't feel like watching it continuously, but after I watched two or three episodes, the chemistry between Ali Raza and Anmol Baloch really grabbed my attention. Now I'm hooked! Their chemistry is something else, and they look so good together. Today, the 27th episode came out, and tomorrow the 28th will be released, and I cannot wait for it! This is the kind of grip they've created on me. Their chemistry keeps you wanting more. Despite not having a very strong script and a typical storyline, Ali and Anmol truly shine. I love seeing them together and can't wait to see more of them!

The characters have become so close to my heart even though the storyline is barely understandable anymore, ali and anmol have some magic between them and its so clear with the way a spark is seen everytime they're on the screen.
Kabhi main kabhi tum fans are by far the worst fandoms I have ever come across in my life, being so childish and pathetic by mass downrating iqtidar on IMDb just because ali shared his success is beyond idiotic. But no worries, the fans have far more love for our actors to bring back those ratings up even if those people try to diminish all the work put into this show's success. I want ali and anmol to know that the love for them will always far surpass the pathetic hate that I hope they ignore. Love and only love to these beautiful, beautiful people inside and out (A. A)

Honestly, first I thought that it would be a simple trashy romance ptv shows us. But even though, it is a trashy romance, it's better than what I expected. Mehrunisa's character has me hooked, Shahnawaz is a looser in love and I am so down for them. The visuals of this drama are out of this world, Anmol Baloch and Ali raza's chemistry is legit. I think Shahnawaz will be the reason of saman shah's downfall because he's already guilty of using mehrunisa because of his mother.
Whoever's saying that the show is trash is blind and just bitter about it doing good being under a newly developed channel, organically.

Wish we could see more of mehshah, that's my only complain with the story, I wish the story didn't seem sidelined to the main characters of the show themselves, there's too much focus on the side characters and in return it feels like the episodes are shorter because there are barely any scenes of the main characters, hope the director sees the reviews and give more importance to the main leads instead of illogical and unnecessary side characters scenes, Ali and Anmol have unique chemistry with lots of potential that could do justice to their characters, hope that chemistry is not wasted and used properly.

Iqtidar is my most favorite so far and will always be on my top 3 and here's why
The storyline is quite interesting and comparing to the other stories of Pakistani dramas it's not cliche. It shows many real happenings in our society such as oppressions toward inferiors, misuse of power and the harsh reality of political personalities. The character Mehrunisa is very appreciating. I like how she's aware of the rights of general people and rigorous against indiscrimination.
Now, about my real interest.
I just loveee to see MehShah on screen. Whoever cast them together did an excellent job. I wonder how they look so gorgeous together like an actual couple. Their chemistry is so astonishing that keeps me go on till the new episodes come up. The leads Ali Raza and Anmol Baloch are doing great and it is shown in their acting. Kudos to their hardship. The best part is how they spell magic upon us through their eyes that speak louder than words. As if their eyes were the actors. MARVELLOUS.
The minus point is their screentime is too briefly. Their screentime is just as much as shown in the trailers. We definitely hoped for more. Although it had lost its craze around episode 22, 23. But afterwards only the best of it came. Looking ahead to witness more projects of this powerful duo. Ali&Anmol❤

Iqtidar is a standout drama that masterfully combines exceptional storytelling, brilliant performances, and high production values.
The drama delves deep into societal dynamics, offering a thought-provoking narrative that resonates with audiences.
Shanawaz Shah delivers a commanding performance, perfectly embodying his character's complexities, while Mehroom Nisa shines with her emotional depth and authenticity.
Each episode is crafted to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, blending unexpected twists with a strong emotional core.
The direction and cinematography add an extra layer of brilliance, making it a visual treat.
This drama is not just entertainment; it's a powerful commentary on societal struggles, setting a new standard for excellence in Pakistani television.

Iqtidar is definitely one of those shows where you expect so much from the main leads and would want to see so much of them, unfortunately it has failed to stand on any of our expectations, let me start as to where it went wrong, no screen time for the main leads has to be one of the most ragingly laughable thing about a show, the show was a hit because of the main couple, how are you going to show a minute or two of their scene and expect the audience still carry on with the views, stopped watching as soon as the show got overwhelmingly diverted to the side characters with absolutely no development in the story of mehru and Shahnawaz, again, for whom every single person is watching the show.
Director and writer needs to better, terrible and horrendous directing and writing.

Character's are the best thing and mehrunnisa aka anmol baloch admire the whole drama. What stands out the most in Anmol Baloch's acting is her natural talent. From the moment she steps in front of the camera, it's evident that acting is not just a profession for her but a passion. Anmol has a rare ability to communicate emotions without saying a word, often conveying more through her facial expressions and body language than with dialogue alone. Whether it's the subtle quiver of her lip, the sparkle in her eyes, or the soft furrow of her brow, she can speak volumes through the smallest gestures.
Anmol's skill in conveying emotions is particularly notable. In her performances, viewers can often sense the inner turmoil of her character, whether it's joy, sorrow, pain, or hope. She can seamlessly transition from one emotion to the next, portraying a range of feelings with a sense of ease and authenticity. Her performance feels organic and fluid, never forced or exaggerated, which makes her one of the most engaging performers to watch.

Ali Raza and Anmol Baloch's on-screen chemistry in Iqtidar is nothing short of electric, captivating viewers from the very first episode. Their dynamic portrayal of Shahnawaz Shah and Mehrunisa is rich in emotional depth, with every glance, every gesture, and every word exchanged brimming with sincerity and raw intensity. Ali's strong, grounded performance complements Anmol's vulnerability and strength, creating a perfect balance that feels both authentic and heartfelt. Their evolving relationship, woven seamlessly into the narrative, adds layers of complexity to the storyline, which moves beyond mere romance to explore themes of justice, personal sacrifice, and resilience. Their chemistry is not just a romantic subplot but an emotional anchor that elevates Iqtidar, making it an unforgettable journey for the audience.
