Chloe is a successful children's author, but she wants to write a novel. She goes home for Christmas. There is a nice meet-cute with Ethan at a cookie store. She gets a call and let's him pass her in line while she takes it. Meanwhile he buys out the gingerbread cookies. Many Christmas movies would have made an argument over this, but instead Ethan is completely nice and gives her some. What makes the meet cute is that Ethan doesn't realize that she is the author he is buying cookies to host a book signing at his bookstore.
Ethan has a daughter, Alex, who wants to be a writer. The three of them spend time together for various things. I'm not sure how much of a surprise is the obligatory obstacle to the romance. It fits generally into one of the more common obstacles. And there is a sentimental moment in the climax.
Much of what is positive in the movie is the characters and relationships. That includes Chloe and her family as well as Ethan and Alex. There is a cute scene with Ethan and Alex where she gets worked up preparing him for a "second date".
The acting is OK. The dialogue is OK. The leads have quiet chemistry.
This is a faith based story that focuses on faith helping with grief. I could have done without having angels deliver messages to relatives in heaven. I don't think this movie pushes that as being more than a way to encourage good memories or like talking to loved ones at their graves. I hope not. I am a little more comfortable with God giving us signs, call it leading.

This movie feels like a cozy evening by the fire, wrapped in a blanket with a warm cup of cocoa. The romance is lighthearted and charming, free of unnecessary misunderstandings, and any conflict is thoughtfully handled. Family plays a central role in the story, and they're just as endearing as the lead characters. A standout element is Chloe, already a successful author, encouraging Ethan's daughter to pursue her writing dreams, adding an uplifting and inspirational touch.
I especially loved how faith was woven into the story. Chloe's book introduces the beautiful idea of Christmas angels delivering messages to loved ones in heaven. It adds a touching layer of meaning to angel tree toppers and fits seamlessly into the heartwarming narrative.
