This found footage horror film absolutely does not go where you think it's going to go. There will be many comparisons to the Duplass classic Creep, but Old Wounds does something very different by the time it's over.
All three performances are great, from the new couple played by Steven Hugh Nelson and Chelsey Grant, to the diabolical turn by Brian Villalobos as the unwanted guest.
The film does a great job at keeping you on your heels and you can never quite tell where it's headed. The editing is maybe the most impressive part outside the acting - with found footage films, it's easy to feel like the story is dragging, but this moves along from scene to scene, always keeping you right there.
Great subliminal sound design choices too throughout. I'd guess there was one, maybe two crew outside of the main actors and it is skillfully executed and portrayed. Highly recommended!

I usually don't go for a found footage movie. But it was playing at a festival so I decided to give it a try.
I ended up loving every minute. This is a movie made by only 5 people with a minimal budget, and still had me to the edge edge of my seat the whole time. The story develops nicely with a lot of twists, turns. It's a great horror movie for people who are not into horror, as well it is for hardcore horror fans.
The whole movie is a love letter to independent filmmakers. I would watch it over and over again. I really hope there's a sequel following the same characters. They were all amazing.
