Kemah Terlarang: Kesurupan Massal

Inspired by a true story, this movie succeeds in creating a scary atmosphere sufficiently and not too much. Not typical of emphasizing jumpscare horror movie, however the strengthness are in storyline, characterization, and good actings. In my opinion, this movie has minimum plot gap and give us understand about what and why it happen in every scene. Their javanese language also good and proper. As indonesian people, I feel the story and plot are common and related. The end of story also good and satisfied but still leaves many mystery. I recommend all of you to watch this movie. Sorry for my bad english btw.

Finally found a quality Indonesian horror film. Initially doubted seeing the advertisement because it looked like a film production with a limited budget. But it turned out to be beyond expectations, the scary vibes from the plot that was built, the acting was extraordinary, the smooth Javanese accent that was not made up. An example of a film that not only highlights beautiful and handsome actors but also prioritizes good acting and plot. The real story is conveyed to the audience and they can feel the horror. An example of a film that emphasizes quality, a real story that is developed without being made up, the selection of actors who can actually act and scenes that are made to resemble the original.

This film offers a fairly gripping horror experience, with the main strength being the atmosphere built and the acting of the players. Although there are some small details that feel inconsistent, such as a scene of heavy rain but not long after that suddenly dries up without any traces of rain. However, this does not really interfere with the overall story. The actors are able to explore their respective characters well, especially in the use of natural Javanese. Derby Romero also appears convincing as an annoying senior figure. The horror atmosphere is built quite well, making the audience feel the tension throughout the film. Unfortunately, I don't really like the color grading used, even though the properties shown are very total. The dialogue in this film is natural and flowing, adding a strong impression to each scene. Overall, this film presents a fairly tense and entertaining viewing experience, although there are some minor shortcomings that need to be considered.
