Marty Supreme marks Josh Safdie's first solo directorial venture since The Pleasure of Being Robbed (2008) and the first narrative film he had written and directed without his brother and long-time creative partner Benny Safdie, as the brothers ended their partnership after the release of Der schwarze Diamant (2019) to explore solo careers.
'Marty Supreme' is loosely based on the life of table tennis champion/hustler/entertainer/entrepreneur Marty Reisman (1930 - 2012.)
This will be Tyler, the Creator's film debut.
Gwyneth Paltrow told Vanity Fair that when she met Timothée Chalamet, who she was going to film several sex scenes with, she joked, "Okay, great. I'm 109 years old. You're 14."
Since she hadn't filmed an intimate scene in over a decade, Gwyneth Paltrow told Vanity Fair that she had no idea what an intimacy coordinator was when she was cast. Yet, since she and Timothée Chalamet were going to film several sex scenes, the studio hired one. But Paltrow didn't see any reason for it. In fact, when she met the coordinator the day they were to film their first sex scene, Paltrow told her, "Girl, I'm from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera's on." Chalamet agreed, so they told the coordinator to just stay back. Paltrow told Vanity Fair, "I don't know how it is for kids who are starting out, but if someone is like, 'Okay, and then he's going to put his hand here,' I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that."
