Honestly not a cinema material

A meditative triumph of atmosphere over action

It the kind of foreign-language Netflix film that divides audiences - and that's its strength. This Netflix original immerses viewers in its wind-battered landscapes with breathtaking cinematography that lingers like a half-remembered dream. The deliberate pacing - reminiscent of Tarkovsky at his most contemplative - demands patience but rewards with moments of transcendent beauty. While the sparse dialogue and symbolic storytelling may frustrate mainstream audiences, the lead actor's wordless performance speaks volumes. Some narrative threads feel underdeveloped (particularly the second-act romantic subplot), and the 138-minute runtime tests endurance. Yet as the haunting final shot fades, you'll realize you've experienced something rare in streaming-era cinema: a film that trusts its audience to sit with silence and find meaning in the empty spaces between words. Not perfect, but unforgettable.

A light and predictable watch

The storyline of Ruzgara Birak comes across as very basic and predictable, reminiscent of a typical Turkish summer TV series condensed into a two hour format. The plot lacks depth and originality, relying heavily on cliches and familiar tropes we've seen countless times before. While the cinematography and music might offer some pleasant moments, they aren't enough to elevate the film into something memorable.

Overall, it's a light, casual watch that doesn't demand much from the viewer. If you're looking for something to pass the time without high expectations, this film might be an option. However, if you're after a more gripping or meaningful story, this probably won't meet your expectations.

I went to the premiere of the film "Ruzgara Birak" and got a lot of impressions. And my husband grumbled at first, but even he liked it

Recently, the world of Turkish cinema caught my attention and I came to the point of going to the cinema to watch them

By the way, this film became very popular, because in the morning I almost could not find an empty seat. The hall was full. In principle, this is not surprising, because the main roles were played by very popular Turkish actors who have already become well-known in Russia.

I was pleasantly surprised by the acting of Hande Erçel and Baris Arduç. It seemed convincing to me.

I did not see any excessive affectation or stiffness of the actors here. All emotions are perfectly conveyed to the viewer.

And it was also important for me to feel the chemistry between the couple. It is felt very strongly here, and it pleased me. Their unity hooked me and made me believe in what was happening. The film "Ruzgara Birak" fascinated me and gave me a lot of impressions. I did not expect a stormy and complicated story, I just went to relax. Finally I got what I was waiting for. Overall, I think fans of Turkish series and just romantic comedies will enjoy it. You can go with your girlfriends or your partner.

I'm glad i took time to watch this beautiful movie

The combination of amazing leads, killer chemistry, beautiful location and a banging soundtrack makes Chasing The Wind a highly enjoyable film.. I usually watch movies to be entertained, to feel comfy and this film really made me feel safe and comfortable. Leads are so pretty like I couldn't take my eyes off Hande's beauty.. her style is so iconic, body and face card is insane. Baris is very handsome and funny.. and both acting are great, very natural.. they created very beautiful story of Asli and Ege.. Chasing The Wind has everything good summer movie needs to have! I enjoyed every moment of this film..

Very weak and primitive plot

A typical Turkish melodrama with a weak and primitive plot. There are a lot of such films in Turkey. This is a remake of the series "Fairy Tale on the Island", in which Turan and Alp Navruz starred, it is much better and more quality than this remake. Hande and Baris played implausibly, the acting and the plot itself leave much to be desired. Erotic scenes are not very good for Turkish films, they look artificial and fake. The actors themselves are not young and it is noticeable. This is the most unsuccessful film of Arduc In general, he is a good actor, but here it is a complete failure. I can not recommend it, it is not interesting, drawn out, boring.

Warm Romantic Passionate

I have watched the film in Netflix with English subtitle. It was really worth waiting for Hande Ercel's new movie. It has a good story and bright cast. Hande developed a lot in her acting. Moreover she has not done such intimate scene in her previous venture with such maturity. Her 1st sex scene was just sex without love had expressed very well. She has built emotion in the audience in her 2nd love making scene and really enjoyable without any hesitation. None of these scene are vulgar. Baris and Hande chemistry is beyond question. Both of them are real charmer. A big blow for Hande Ercel critic's who always say Hande can not act. This movie does not stops there. It has a clear message of preservation of nature. And gives a nature loving living style of the lovely couples. Recommended to watch for mature audience with an open mind.

Great Movie

I went into Chasing the Wind expecting a typical romantic drama, but I was pleasantly surprised by its mix of corporate rivalry, self-discovery, and heartfelt moments. The film follows Asli, a driven businesswoman, and Ege , a laid-back surfer, who are forced to work together as co-heirs to a major company. Their contrasting personalities lead to engaging conflicts, witty banter, and eventual growth as they learn from each other.

What Worked Well: ✅ Fantastic Chemistry - Erçel and Arduç shine on screen, making every interaction feel natural and full of tension.

✅ Breathtaking Cinematography - The film beautifully contrasts the structured corporate world with the serene coastal landscapes.

✅ Emotional Depth - While it starts lighthearted, the story gradually explores themes of ambition, identity, and family.

What Could Be Better: ❌ Predictable Plot - The story follows familiar rom-com beats, making it somewhat formulaic at times.

❌ Pacing Issues - Some scenes, especially in the middle, feel slightly dragged out.

Overall, Chasing the Wind is a well-crafted and visually stunning romantic drama that delivers strong performances and a feel-good message. If you enjoy romance with a touch of corporate drama, this one is worth watching!

Failed RomCom

If you said this is a RomCom genre then you must be crazy.. it was not RomCom, its more like a sensual romance genres those sex scenes are not neccesary for the movie that claimed as a RomCom The story was so boring The acting of the actors were so cringe You can't watch this movie until the end because you gonna sleep as well i just see two sexy actors making love on the big screen, kissing passionately and having sex scene more than once Terrible movie!!

The director was failed to develop the story itself And i've noticed that this movie was a Remake of ADA MASALI which starring Alp Navruz.

such a sweet cliché

This movie gives vibes of some old romcom movies that you want to re-watch when you want to feel good and smile. I really liked chemisty between leads. Excellent acting, I really like that there was no exaggeration in the scenes and forced comedy, a lot of scenes looked natural. This is the story of a business woman who got lost herself on the way to save her company from bankruptcy. We were watching her growth and how she changed. I really liked that her wardrobe and hair follow her change, you see how at the beginning of the movie she wore dark clothes and then white clothes, also her hair was slink then it became curly.

Hande and Baris are very compatible, the film is fluid and sincere.

Hello. I live in Poland and I am a fan of Hande Ercel. I have been in love with her since the first time I saw her in the series Love is In The Air. I couldn't wait to watch this movie. I thought it would be on Netflix and I would watch it. However, I later learned that I couldn't watch it in my country, which made me sad. I heard that Hande and Baris were coming to Berlin on January 7th. My boyfriend and I bought tickets, and after long arrangements (car and accommodation), he took me to the premiere. Can you believe it, while I was going to be sad because I couldn't watch the movie on TV, I both watched the movie and saw Hande up close. The characters of Ege and Asli are really impressive, you can watch the movie without getting bored. You should see how Asli's strict and overly career-oriented life changes thanks to Ege. I am so happy.

Beautiful Leads with no real spark.

I was so excited to see Baris and Hande work together. I'm a big fan of their previous work like Halka and Kuzgun. These two are undeniably beautiful but they have no romantic chemistry. They have friendship chem and the story left much to be desired. I went in knowing the movie is a romantic comedy but it left both the ROM and COM lacking. The movie drags its plot and the dialogue felt outdated and cartoonish. I was just bored and expected more. The pacing, plot, acting all good have been better. The visuals were was the highlight of the movie. Excellent cinematography so much so it felt like travel advertisement.

I recommend you to watch it, their harmony is perfect

Today we watched Rüzgara Birak in the cinema. I got very emotional while watching it. Ten years ago I got married to my current wife and moved to the Netherlands. During those days when I was preparing for my wedding, the last time I was in Turkey was watching Hande Ercel in the TV series Günesin Kizlari. Now I watch her in the cinema in the country I live in. Now we are both grown up. I went to the movie with my wife, it was the first time we watched a Turkish movie together in the cinema. The subject is actually familiar, because they are trying to seize my family's land in Kaz Mountains. Of course, it is not romantic like in the movie. Anyway, getting back to the subject, I felt like I was at home while watching the story of Asli and Ege, they are very warm, sincere, friendly people, they have a relaxing atmosphere. I recommend you to watch it, their harmony is perfect.

Another unspectacular love story

If you care about highly polished visuals and aesthetics, want to watch some easy cheesy romance to chill and giggle while admiring the beautiful landscapes of Turkish coasts sides then yes, this movie might be for you. However, if you are tired of stereotypes, want to watch something meaningful or just have any expectations at all then this is not your movie. The actors look very attractive, especially the woman... and that's it already. I never understood the hype about Hande Ercel because her acting seems absolutely boring, dull with no outstanding character or uniqueness. I'm guessing she's famous for her looks since it can't be the talent. Real good acting is a form of real art and not everyone has the depth for that. But I guess this superficial, idealized world is what most people want to see nowadays so that's what the industry creates.

I think this is what a modern-day romantic comedy should be

Like many people, I enjoy a good romantic comedy every now and then, but I wouldn't describe myself as a true lover of the genre.

So, you can imagine the skepticism and genuine curiosity I felt after the first trailer for Hande Ercel and Baris Arduc's romantic comedy "Rüzgara Birak" was officially released. But the film looked lighthearted and fun. I'd never seen a romantic comedy in theaters before, but the rave reviews from audiences when it came out made me think it was a better time than ever to do so.

It's no secret that Hande and Baris' chemistry translates well on screen, but I'm a sucker for the cliché of enemies-turned-lovers. Both Hande and Baris are committed to their on-screen chemistry, and their narratives really shape today's dating scene and the challenges of defining relationships.

The unusual Cesme beach backdrop was a visual feast.

I think this is what a modern-day romantic comedy should be. "Rüzgara Birak" definitely knows how to reach an audience. I will definitely try to arrange a trip to Turkey next time!

Its atmosphere is unfailingly uplifting..

Actually, after watching the teaser, I was waiting for a mid-core teenage movie and i watched this movie just because my friend firmly wanted to watch it but i got much more than i expected. The atmosphere of the movie was EXTREMELY warm and intimate and lovable And to be honest, What made me fell in love was the energy main actors put in the movie, despite that, Their harmony of the main actors was completely seen and felt. Filming and directing was on another level, I congratulate the director more than anyone, his work made me amazed. I hope it will turn into a serie and we would watch its second episode in future.

Rüzgara Birak is a candidate to be one of the most acclaimed Turkish romcoms of our time

If you consider yourself a romantic comedy enthusiast, Rüzgara Birak is a candidate to be one of the most acclaimed Turkish romcoms of our time. Funny, heartfelt and intelligent, Rüzgara Birak proves that the standard romcom formula still has some new angles to explore, with its appealing lead actors and cross-cultural themes. With its magnificent cast and a great blend of visual splendor, it skillfully draws inspiration from the classic and still effective romcom formula, while in my opinion taking a satisfying step forward in its on-screen representation. As for Asli and Ege, I have to say: refreshingly honest and extremely charming.

the beautiful harmony between the lead actors drives me crazy

It's exactly my style. I watched it and I definitely recommend it to those who love romantic comedies. Two heirs of a company; Ege Yazici and Asli Mansoy are opposing each other regarding the future of the company. Asli is a complete city girl, while Ege is from Cesme. While watching it, what crossed my mind was "will they realize how similar they are despite all their differences? Will they be able to come together or will these differences tear them apart?" But guys, the beautiful harmony between the lead actors drives me crazy. The story flows, I can't even take my eyes off their beauty. Only the harmony between Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts in Nothing Hill made me feel like this before.

It is extremely amazing!!!

I absolutely loved this film! The lead actress and actor gave phenomenal performances, bringing so much emotion and depth to their characters. The actress is breathtakingly beautiful, with a charm and elegance that feels almost otherworldly. Her presence alone elevates the entire movie.

The film itself is a masterpiece, brimming with love, joy, and heartfelt moments that leave you smiling long after it's over. The story is captivating and perfectly suited for anyone who enjoys romantic tales. It's the ideal choice for a cozy Valentine's Day evening with your loved one, as it beautifully captures the spirit of love and connection.

I can't recommend this movie enough-it's a must-watch for anyone looking for a heartwarming and memorable experience. Highly recommended!
