More resort than camp

I watch Farm House Fixer so I thought I'd watch this. It's more soap opera or video diary than building. It's like the Khardasians only with more normal humans. Same for this show. I'm not seeing the camp in this rebuild. The redesign and furnishings are more like a town house with rural vibes. I suppose the goal is upper end glamping for folks with enough money to pay for a four star experience. I find the interiors bland and cutsie. Way too modern and not what I want in a cabin. It will appeal to flat landers I guess. I'm perplexed by the major money spent on each cabin. The Cabin Builder show comes up with a cheaper remodel for half the money. The interiors on that show have a more woodsy less urban vibe. Old worn flannel versus just bought for vacation duds. Everyone has their own idea of an attractive home or vacation place. I live in a national forest town so I get the best of both worlds. I'll keep watching to see how things turn out. I guess I watch old house/cabin shows because there is a beginning, a middle, and an end. No one gets shot. People work together for a positive goal. I kind of need that in these crazy days.

Reno is hard, man

No doubt it's stressful. This all seemed manufactured. The family involvement and "input" was cringey at times. It was so amazingly fortunate that Kristina was available AND nearby to offer design decompression assistance to Jonathan. Knight is not a compelling enough individual to carry a show. Yes, it's all for TV, but the first episode was devoted to will-he-won't-he decision-making was laughable. Too much time was spent viewing Knight with his hands over his face, "worrying " about being over-budget and missing deadlines and saying the same thing over and over about how supportive his family is/how he couldn't do it without them. More time spent on the building aspect would have been nice, but clearly that was not the direction taken.

Fixer upper show?

This is amongst the dumbest of the * fixer upper * genre. Fixer upper shows should always show you what they're fixing on some level, it's what it's about. This show, like so many others these days, shows you the cottage they're going to renovate. Then, there's a bunch of family drama, dad tells some some ridiculous cost of something, some whines about it, says " whyyyyyy! I should just sell it ". Then, back to the cabin, miraculously it's already half finished and you don't even know what they did. Repeat cycle, go back to cabin, voila it's finished and you don't know what they did. Where's Bob Villa when you need him. If you don't know ANYTHING about fixing up houses, don't be in a show about fixing up houses.

"Camp" revamp?

This show is such an oddball.

It's advertised along the lines of "hey, I'm fixing up an old camp" so one might think the show would run similar to the old cabin masters-type of shows where they fix the buildings up into a reasonable space.

Instead, we get the patented ~hgtv luxury~ builds.

Spend, Spend, Spend at ridiculously inflated cost is the name of the game here. Of the 2-3 episodes that are out as of this writing, nearly all seem to be carbon copy designs I'd see on any other show (albeit in a smaller space)

The first episode I watched of this they stated the build cost was $100,000. Just for that episode's cabin alone.
