Fatal Fixer Upper (TV Movie 2024)
The story was initially compelling, with an intriguing setup, but every scene just went south. The actors delivered their lines with almost no emotion, making it hard to feel invested in their characters. Too many closeup, no establishing shots of the surroundings. There was barely any time to process events or let the tension build before the characters would jump to the next scene. I kept hoping this movie would pull through, but it kept missing crucial moments that would have made the story believable. For example, it was baffling that the wife didn't tell her husband about Josh taking a shower in their home-it felt like such an obvious red flag! I kept waiting for that conversation, but it never happened, and somehow she never suspected Josh at all.
Even though it was a low-budget production, it had potential if the scenes had been better developed. There were abrupt transitions that made it hard to follow what was happening. Suddenly, the husband is in the hospital, and we don't even see him taken away in an ambulance, nor do we see any police car after such disturbing events. There were no convincing transitions or buildup; it was as if the story was told in disjointed clips rather than a cohesive narrative.
This movie felt lame, like it couldn't even reach the level of a classic Lifetime B movie. There were so many missed opportunities to create suspense or give the audience a reason to care. Unfortunately, the lack of effort to tie things together made this a disappointing watch.

I can't believe this movie is averaging 5.8 out of 10 stars! Are you kidding me?! The wife gave the words stupid and juvenile new meaning. She was absolutely infuriating and totally disrespected her husband. She was so selfish. But then again, the husband was so spineless! How do you let some guy take so many liberties in your house like that! Stand up for yourself dude! And the male protagonist was a joke. His eyes would cross every time he yelled and got angry about something! It was so funny, I kid you not! Overall, this movie was terrible. The acting was atrocious and it never got better, ir only got worse. Take it from me, there are better psycho contractor movies out there to enjoy. Please choose one of them instead and skip this one.
