A fair interpretation of K-Mart Twisters

Ridiculous

Writing a good solid is hard, that is why writers spend years on a single book. There are a lot of people that go to Hollywood hoping to become actors, but the vast majority of them get rejected immediately, mostly because they won't put out, but also because acting is difficult, with all the emoting and expressioning and stuff. Also, making special effects is a craft that is being honed in decades, an eternal area of innovation and struggle. So surely with terrible writing, bad acting and cheap soulless special effects you can't make a movie, right?

Wrong! I present you: The Twisters, a film so hilariously bad that I had to watch through it all. The bittersweet pain caused by watching completely talentless people trying their best was excruciating. I truly believe this film should be taught at school films, together with The Room, which is itself orders of magnitude more captivating and well done than this.

Must watch while stoned, drunk or otherwise mentally challenged, but it will be worth it.

Not "Twisters"

I spent $10 and 20 minutes buying this 2024 movie, thinking it was the one in theatres. At first I loved the cheesy corny over the top dialogue and acting. Terrible CGI. My boyfriend hated it, but I was all "wait! They had the money to pay A-list actors and tons of great trailers. It's just an homage to cheesy movies like the original Twisters." Kept waiting for Glen Powell's face. 20 minutes in, I googled it, and realised we (I was) were duped. Why release a movie with basically the same title (*The* Twisters) and the same concept in the same year as a super popular movie? Just a waste of $10.

My fam bought this instead of real Twisters. Bummer.

Unreal! As I walk in the room and see this being purchased I yell "Noooooooo!", it was the wrong movie. Was trying to buy Twisters 2024. Bravo for this company for being able to trick so many people with a release of a similar movie with a similar name. Hopefully more people pay attention when purchasing a movie so they are not tricked into buying a cheap knockoff of a blockbuster that might get a 15 minute view before being shut off. This film will now sit in the graveyard of unwatchable accidental Apple purchases- luckily out of a couple thousand purchases this is number 4 in that graveyard.

Total scam

Duped into spending $5.99 on THE Twisters; absolute garbage of a movie. Can't fathom that anyone produced this for any reason other than to trick people into buying it based on the title.

The fact that Apple ranked this a top movie to watch this weekend is highly suspicious- feels like nothing but a ploy to take advantage of the average consumer. I work too hard for my money to be taken advantage of by megacorps making grab for any penny possible.

Back to the movie, do not watch it. Do not even look at the trailer. It will waste 32 seconds of your life and make you want to rip out your eyeballs and ears.

So bad

How dares Apple TV sell such a movie ?!!!! I got deceived thinking that this is the new Twisters movie and ended up buying this one . It is so bad that I could not watch more than 30 minutes .....and that took a lot of effort. I don't trust Apple TV anymore .

.i think this movie should be taught in schools as an example and a learning experience of what a bad movie is: a plot that lacks depth, actors' performances that feel forced and unconvincing, a dialogue that is equally bad.

The special effects, which I had hoped would be a redeeming feature, are a joke and only serve to highlight the movie's overall lack of quality.

I would not recommend to anyone. Save your money and time for something more worthwhile.

A generic and predictable, but entertaining, tornado movie from The Asylum...

Leave it to The Asylum to bring a movie called "The Twisters" onto the table following in the wake of the former movie "Twisters" also released earlier this year. Even before sitting down to watch this movie, there wasn't a sliver of doubt that this was going to be a movie from The Asylum. And voila.

Writer Jeffery Anderson put together a fair enough script, and in all honesty this wasn't as bad as you would other assume from a movie spewed out by The Asylum, and one riding on the success of "Twisters" nonetheless. I was actually adequately entertained throughout the course of this movie.

However, it is a rather stereotypical and predictable movie, and I just love how all the bad things that happen in the movie because of the winds happen to take place right around the main characters and interfering with their oh-so-plausible plan to thwart Mother Nature. It was ridiculous, and I am amazed that writers still conjure up scripts like this where a small group of people go against the forces of Mother Nature with a ludicrous plan to save Planet Earth and emerging victorious. It is a formula that has been wore thin and down to the bone.

Of the entire cast ensemble, I was only familiar with actor Paul Logan. While I was not familiar with the actors and actresses on the cast list, I will say that the acting performances were fair.

Visually then "The Twisters" was not as bad as you otherwise expect when sitting down to watching a movie from The Asylum. The CGI effects were actually good. Sure, the movie also made use of some stock footage of tornado aftermath, which felt a bit cheap, but it played out well enough.

My rating of director Michael Su's 2024 movie "The Twisters" lands on a five out of ten stars.

There should be copyright infringement for this.

So, you name a movie "The Twisters" to hopefully glean off those who are not sure what the legitimate film is actually titled (which is "Twisters") and you go see this instead or even rent it thinking you are getting the genuine article, but then find out you've been scammed yet by another shoddy "take others work and make an inferior copy" film company like Asylum, but this one is called "Atomic Blonde" which makes me think this is a true blonde joke company who's sole purpose is to make these knock offs which are absolutely horrible in everything they portray, there must be a law somewhere against such nonsense as this. This is far worse than Chinese knock off products that break after the first use. If you see this you'll know what I mean. Be sure and see the right "Twisters" movie which is made by Spielberg and is a quality movie and it's even better than the first Twister movie. As for this junk. Don't waste your time!

An Asylum Production

Frustrated that his new AI-generated software isn't as accurate as it could be, a scientist named "Dr. James Garland" (Mark Justice) hacks into a newly created weather transponder system without the inventor's permission. When his boss, "Dr. Janet Evans" (Tiffany Renee Dwarish), learns of this, she immediately advises him to seek permission from the owner of these tracking devices. The problem is that the owner happens to be James Garland's sister, "Dr. Erica Garland" (Kayla Fields), with whom he has been estranged since a weather-related disaster several years earlier. Compounding the issue is that, according to James' new program, a severe series of potentially catastrophic tornadoes is projected to hit the United States within a few hours, and without the two of them working together, thousands of lives are at risk. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that my hopes for a quality film were immediately diminished as soon as I realized it was an Asylum production. Regrettably, my initial reaction was correct, as many of the absurd scenarios were almost as bad as some of the acting, especially from Tiffany Renee Dwarish and Curtis Strong (as "General Murphy"), who appeared to be reading their lines from a cue card. Likewise, the way an Army officer at a meteorological center directed Air Force pilots was equally ridiculous. Be that as it may, I didn't particularly care for this movie and have rated it accordingly.

Funniest movie ever!

This was so bad, it was hilarious. We honestly cried laughing watching this. If they were going for comedy, they struck gold. The script read like a really bad porno. The science was widely inaccurate, the acting was horrendous, and all of this combined is made it so funny.

To those who bought this movie, THE TWISTERS confusing it with the new movie TWISTERS and being upset, you chose to buy it! There was a trailer available you could have watched. The main picture before you buy the movie shows completely different characters. The titles are different. You weren't "tricked" into buying the movie, you're just stupid.

You picked the wrong movie

You thought you were watching the new 2024 movie remade from the 90s didn't you? WRONG! 6 mins in upon realising a "high school drama" team had more acting prowess, the ensuing 10 mins were torture before switching off and renting the correct one (which is pretty good fyi). If you persevere with this one, you have a much stronger disposition than I and all power to you. Even IF you tolerate the acting, you'll be blown away by the repeated shots of the same building after each scene.

It MAY have had a "saving grace" if one of the cast members (Tiffany) belted out her version of "I think we're alone now" but that may have disuaded from the storyline but i promise, once you experience the quality of this film, you'll appreciate it.

The critique wouldn't have been so vehemently opposed if it were not due to the obvious attempt to trick unsuspecting pundits into spending on a flick (using the term loosely) that apparently is able to be viewed freely on many steaming services.

TOO BORING. It's awful!

We downloaded this twister instead of the glenn twister. I really thought we were gonna have a great time 😭 it was too boring my family had to fake sleeping and went out. PLEASE DON'T DOWNLOAD OR BUY THIS MOVIE. It's full of TALKING about rubbish stuff we couldn't understand! Thankfully noticed it's not the same when the general came. That master doctor of James was super bad at acting! Seriously! Y'all should stop producing a movie as bad as this. Wasting our time. If you want to improve, stop talking nonsense and actually do something. I swear, directors skipped directing school. This SUCKED.

Free to watch on Hoopla and other streaming apps.

If you were looking for the other Twisters movie and you bought this movie instead, you been duped. This movie can be watched for free on Hoopla and other streaming apps. This movie was released around the same time as the other Twisters movie, which is a much better movie. This movie stars Tiffany, the teen singer of the 80's. The story and acting is fair to darn right bad. The special effects (fx) are fair to bad. The fact that this movie and the other were released at the same time with the same title was just bad for the movie industry. It just shows how low Hollywood will go. Check it out for free if you like. Don't go paying for this movie. Not worth it.

1 star for this movie.

The Twisters

Absolutely, thoroughly, nauseatingly garbage movie - I couldn't watch it through to the end and I have watched MANY bad movies in the past. I was looking forward to it as per the 'sequel to Twister' moniker as advertised but nothing like the original (which was a blast). This one had rubbish acting from the beginning with totally inane dialogue. Just don't bother spending time or energy to watch this. You would be better off inspecting your own navel fluff, cutting your lawn with pinking shears or cleaning the toilet. If it was possible I would give this a negative star rating, yes, it is REALLY that bad.

wrong Twisters

Dr. Janet Evans (Tiffany) dismisses Dr. James Garland's warning from his AI computer program. His prediction comes true. Evans suggests that he reunite with his estranged sister Dr. Erica Garland and work on the system together.

This is The Asylum. Maybe people will click on the wrong Twisters movie. The CGI special effects are poor, but I have no other expectations. The science is worst. Other than the bad CGI and stock footage, there isn't much action. This is all pretty bad. Honestly, I did not recognize Tiffany at first. To be fair, I don't remember seeing her for the last thirty years. I don't know any of the other actors. They're fine, but nobody is memorable. This is so bland that I wouldn't waste time making fun of it.

Simply Awful

This movie definitely lives up to its name - it's a whirlwind of confusion, poor acting, and a script that feels like it was written during a coffee break. The plot, if you can call it that, meanders aimlessly without any clear direction. The characters are so one-dimensional that they make cardboard cutouts seem complex. The dialogue is cringe-worthy, filled with clichés and awkward pauses that had me wondering if the actors were reading from cue cards.

The cinematography, which should have been the film's saving grace, is nothing short of amateurish. There are moments that seem to be shot with a shaky hand, and the lighting is so inconsistent that I half-expected to see a crew member walking through the frame.

The special effects, meant to depict the titular twisters, are laughable at best. Instead of feeling the thrill of nature's fury, I felt more like I was watching a low-budget theme park ride malfunction.

Overall, it's a boring mess, but if you have some time to waste and want a bunch of laughs, give it a shot. Better yet, save yourself the trouble and skip this one!

Take this off of every streaming service please

This is genuinely one of if not the worst movies I have EVER seen. As a severe weather nerd and somewhat stormchaser, the sheer amount of inaccuracy is absolutely INSANE. I know people don't watch this stuff for the accuracy, but they're straight up spreading misinformation. Tornadoes do NOT have ionic bonds. They never have. The creators of this movie really saw the chemical composition of an ionic bond and went "O hey this kinda looks like the top of a tornado!" and put it in there. If you're looking for a waste of 1 hour and 27 minutes, watch this movie. The acting is terrible, the characters have 0 depth, and I genuinely wanted to rip my eyes out of my skull after watching this. I gained strength but lost braincells. Can we create a hate club for this movie? Can we create an entire fandom the hates this movie? This movie sucks. Someone please create a website called wwwihatethetwisterswithapassionandiwannadiecom. I beg you.

peak cinema

"I can't believe we're never going to see Steve again" is peak writing. I was in tears of how developed Steve was only to end up as a charred corpse. The part where they dropped the MOAB on 40 tornadoes was truly the best and most scientifically accurate depiction of a tornado outbreak I've ever seen and as a scientist with a PHD in balbalbasofeafafaofafaodfawfuawfoawugawgoasdaefesagogofoafagaohgaoghoufadhgouadfguodguoahoguhadoghdoauhfgaodhgoudfahguoadfhgahdfougadhgouhdafog I was very excited to see the ijfAISRAWJFARRGAWGOAWRGARGOFAGOAHGAGOUAGUOAWRUGOAOWAOGROWAGRAWGARGASDAWifJFIAWJIGAGAEGARGADSGWawrgargagaw.

Terrible and More AI Hype

I went in expecting it to be bad, yet somehow, it was worse. Feels like Google secretly funded the whole thing as a commercial for privatizing NOAA and the National Weather Service. The film leans hard into AI hype to push "smart tornado prediction" like it's the next moon landing, which leans into sidelining science for tech worship. Characters ramble like a stream of consciousness and discuss definitions of weather-related terms, probably because the director assumed the audience can't follow a coherent plot, which maybe they expected if someone picked this movie up thinking it was actually the sequel to the 1996 Twisters movie. It's bad as a movie, but I can't help but feel it's also a hollow corporate fantasy masquerading as entertainment.

The two modes of this low budget flick

There are two modes in this movie --- the yelling mode and the boring mode. The characters in this video are always yelling at each other; they do not know how to talk, and yelling is the only way they communicate. The director believes the harder they yell, the tenser the movement will be. When they are not yelling, the alternative mode is boring. The people are not doing anything, just walking back and forth, followed by small talks, empty talks, giggling, or making jokes that nobody laughs. The plot is not very sophisticated and is easily predictable. There are so many movies called "The Twisters", just watch out for this one.

The Twisters? More Like a Light Breeze

I went into *The Twisters* with my expectations firmly in check. With such a visibly low budget, I didn't expect a cinematic marvel-but I always hold out hope for that rare gem, the diamond in the rough. Unfortunately, this film wasn't it.

To be fair, the **plot had promise**, enough to at least keep things moving. But with a story like this, character development is everything. Without compelling emotional anchors, high-stakes moments-like character deaths-land with a dull thud. Sure, it's sad when someone dies, but without depth, the grief stays surface level.

The CGI was... fine. Not terrible, not noteworthy, just another layer of mediocrity. But what really dragged this movie down was the **acting**, which swung between wooden line readings and overdone dramatics. And don't get me started on the storm scenes-if the characters are supposedly trapped in catastrophic weather, why is no one's hair even ruffled? The trees barely moved. That kind of visual laziness undercuts the tension completely.

In the end, *The Twisters* felt more like a gust than a gale-forgettable and inauthentic. Not recommended...

Love this just because it's independent and it's low budget

Hey guys - the tagline 2 Twisters Become 1 is catchy; I was pleasantly surprised with this movie because I didn't expect much, since it's low budget and an independent film production. The guy who played Dr. Garland (Mark Justice) was by far the best actor of the bunch. Seeing how some people did not read and check the title before watching it and saying it's a rip off from the other big budgeted Twisters is just really crass and illogical. Read the label before you pay for stuff, if you ask me ! It's you that's the problem and not the movie ! Well, the whole cast should be applauded for the wet conditions they were working in.

Awful!

I thought I would watch this since I love tornado movies. I barely made it 22 minutes into the movie. The acting is awful. It seemed as tho the actors were just reading the scripts for the first time. I've never heard of any of the actors. That typically doesn't bother me. The CGI... terrible! At one point it looked as tho the tornado was invisible, if you can imagine that. It was a waste of even 22 minutes of my time. The story sounded interesting, but I just couldn't handle another minute of the movie. Don't waste your time. Take the word of myself and many others. Surely don't pay to watch this movie. One review I read said the acting was so bad it was comical. I didn't feel that at all.
