It's TRUE!! The movie carries a lot of naked truth!!

A review by Rajesh Puvvada

Setting aside political affiliations and opinions, the movie lives to the spirit of a making inspired by true events.

Article 370 as a movie is based on the events that unfolded between 2015 to 2019. The knotty parts of the article in the Indian constitution were untied smartly during this period and the way it was done is the movie all about. So if you assume that the movie is all about a verbal exchange of key leaders over a debate, you are grossly mistaken.

The movies balances between the interpretation of the constitution and a solid action of the NIA (National Investigation Agency) against terrorists and separatists. It's really interesting to see some sections of the article disappeared over the course of time. The movie handles this confusing and complicated part very well. Further, the tact of understanding and dealing with the power equations when changes are imposed to parts of the wider constitution was dealt with very well.

The movie reminds one about the fact that the ugly truth can't disappear forever someone will stumble upon it and justice will prevail even after 5 decades.

You will remain at the edge of the seat when pace builds at the valley and at the Indian parliament. The background score is heart thumping hence I will say you should watch this movie in the theatre.

Both Priya mani and Yami Gautam have played their parts unequivocally!! Arun Govil can't be ignored in the movie!!

I am going with a 8.5/10. You can safely take your entire family to this movie, but emotions will be felt only by the Baby Boomer till the Gen Y populace. Get to the truth soon!!

Must see drama on why Kashmir was burning for so many years.

"Must see drama on why Kashmir was burning for so many years" is an essential cinematic exploration of the complex socio-political dynamics fueling the longstanding conflict in the region. Through its compelling narrative, the film delves deep into the manipulation of ordinary citizens by politicians, who exploit divisions based on religion, caste, and other identities for their own gain. It serves as a poignant reminder of the power struggles that have plagued Kashmir, shedding light on the human cost of political agendas and the desperate need for empathy and understanding amidst turmoil.

"Everyone should watch this" is not just a statement; it's a call to action for individuals to confront the harsh realities depicted in the film. As an eye-opener, it prompts viewers to reflect on the repercussions of systemic injustices and the consequences of apathy towards the suffering of others. By shining a spotlight on the plight of the common people caught in the crossfire of political machinations, the movie underscores the urgency of fostering dialogue, empathy, and genuine efforts towards peace and reconciliation in regions torn apart by conflict.

Gripping, Marvelous, Must See, Awesome Family movie!

Siddharth Anand and his cheap VFX contemporaries should learn from Article 370, how to make a movie which need not be too loud, without unnecessary dance , VFX but gives enormously more thrill, and is gripping to keep you hooked onto your seat.

Right from the 1st minute you will be engrossed into the movie, and enjoy each moment thereafter. Yami Gautam has yet again proved she does not need to play second fiddle to any khan and can pull any movie with her acting abilities, amazing expressions and a great direction, screenplay and most important the nationalistic subject. Priya mani has continued amazing the Hindi audience beyond Family Man. A must watch, and moreover it is a family movie.

A political Drama done right.

What remains today in kashmir valley after a long bloodbath for more than 70 years is peace.

Article 370 presents an incredible true story of the events that lead to the demolishing of article 370.

Article 370 was not just a political gimmick or a normal law in a constitution but it was an act to keep kashmir and it's people away from India.

Aditya Dhar produced starring Yami gautam and directed by Aditya Jambhale is aperfect example of how to create a movie that consists of a political drama perfectly blended with a thrill of spy movie. Performances by the entire cast specially Yami takes movie to another level.

But the fact that the show stealer of this political drama is it's crisp editing, sound mixing and brilliant score. Technicalities are in level to what we saw with Uri and that makes it even spectacular. Screenplay is top notch, even the best part considering the fact that Kashmir and article 370 needs to be handled with a special care in which it s writer and director have succeeded comfortably.

There are few scenes which are a bit dramatic in a whole realistic movie but that doesn't make this movie go off the track.

It's a must watch movie, A masterpiece of bollywood in political drama genre.

"Article 370": Caught Between Action and Politics

Article 370, the 2024 film named after the abrogated special status of Jammu and Kashmir, is a movie caught in a tug-of-war between action thriller and political commentary. It tackles a highly sensitive topic, but the results are a mixed bag.

On the positive side, the film boasts some impressive elements. Yami Gautam delivers a strong performance as the central character, a Kashmiri intelligence officer. The action sequences are well-choreographed and keep the audience engaged. For those unfamiliar with the complexities of Kashmir, the movie offers a basic introduction to the region's history and the issue of Article 370.

However, the film's portrayal of the situation is a point of contention. Critics argue that it simplifies the Kashmir conflict, presenting a one-sided view that aligns with the current ruling party's narrative. The historical details are debated, with some reviewers pointing out factual inaccuracies. Additionally, the movie demonizes those who oppose the abrogation, painting them with a broad brush as terrorists or traitors.

This heavy-handed political messaging undermines the film's effectiveness. While it entertains with action, it sacrifices a nuanced exploration of the Kashmir issue for a more propagandistic approach.

Ultimately, Article 370 is a film divided. It delivers action and a basic introduction to the Kashmir conflict, but its political agenda weakens its impact. If you're looking for a thought-provoking exploration of this complex situation, you might be disappointed. However, if you enjoy action thrillers and are curious about the Article 370 abrogation, it might be worth a watch, keeping its limitations in mind.

A well-crafted, intense political thriller.

Article 370 is Bollywood's rare political thriller that focuses on real, tangible characters and presents an endearing story based on true events.

Debutant director Aditya Jambhale showcases his ability to craft tense sequences - be it on ground crossfire sequences between armed forces and militants or the conversations in meeting rooms among government officials. Despite the excessive runtime, the tight pacing and skilful direction ensures that the film remains engaging.

Yami Gautam's intense portrayal of NIA agent Zooni Haksar deserves a lot of credit. She has just the right balance of calm and emotion required for her character. In fact, the entire cast delivers strong performances.

Unfortunately, the last 20-30 minutes of the film turns into what can only be described as a well-made government press release. I use the term unfortunately, as the film otherwise does an extremely good job of staying away from political propaganda.

Overall, Article 370 is a well-directed, well-acted political thriller that is slightly let down by it's climax, which seems more like a homage to the government than an organic part of the film.

Abrogation of Article 370 in its final phases.

The description of story is put forward as inspired from true events. It says freeing Jammu and Kashmir from article 370.

My problem with the story: There is full-fledged narration of how a document is faulty even if it is located at home ministry. It were crafted so. I want to know if it was really so as the movie says inspired. If not this should not have been included. If true which I think is not, questions the movie at least in my conscience.

My acceptance with the story: Article 370 was a curse to India. It was a great phase when it was abrogated. It was challenging but the government went with it. It took necessary action so that things don't get out of control. A movie on such event I welcome it.

The movie cherishes women. Mainly, one in journalism, one as a soldier and one as a politician. The story revolves around them. It brings comfort in storytelling. But the thing is it says inspired, where I feel wanting more. Do watch it especially when you want to watch something serious.

"Article 370: The Integral Heart of India"

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Kashmir Valley, "Article 370: The Integral Heart of India" takes audiences on a gripping journey through the complexities of one of the world's most contested regions. At its core lies the story of a nation grappling with its past, present, and future, as the central government navigates the delicate balance between upholding the special status granted to Kashmir under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and addressing the challenges posed by terrorism and separatism.

The film follows the lives of several key characters whose fates are intertwined with the fate of Kashmir itself. Among them is a seasoned government official, tasked with overseeing the implementation of policies aimed at fostering development and reconciliation in the region. Despite facing immense pressure from all sides, he remains steadfast in his commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and unity, even as the specter of terrorism looms large.

Parallel to his story is that of a young Kashmiri woman, whose life is forever changed by the conflict that has engulfed her homeland. As she grapples with the complexities of identity and allegiance, she finds herself torn between loyalty to her community and her desire for a better, more peaceful future. Through her eyes, audiences are offered a glimpse into the human cost of the ongoing struggle for Kashmiri autonomy and the toll it takes on individuals caught in the crossfire.

Interwoven with these narratives are the stories of ordinary Kashmiris, whose resilience and determination in the face of adversity serve as a testament to the indomitable spirit of the human soul. From the street vendors eking out a living amidst the chaos of curfews and crackdowns to the students yearning for a brighter tomorrow, each character adds depth and nuance to the rich tapestry of life in Kashmir.

As tensions escalate and the region teeters on the brink of chaos, "Article 370: The Integral Heart of India" offers a timely reminder of the importance of dialogue, understanding, and empathy in resolving conflicts rooted in centuries of history and tradition. Through its powerful storytelling and evocative visuals, the film challenges audiences to confront their own biases and preconceptions, while inspiring hope for a future where peace and prosperity can flourish in the valley once more.

In the end, "Article 370: The Integral Heart of India" is more than just a film-it is a poignant reflection of the human experience, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and a tribute to the enduring bond between Kashmir and the rest of India.

One of the best of its genre.

After very long interval or can say wait, a decent movie came out in this genre. Having no bollywoodiya bakwaas, no over-stardom acting. No cheap story and screenplay.

With facts and historic visuals, the movie sums up as well researched and directed with topping of lead actor Yami fabulous acting.

Congratulations to the entire Team of B62, Jio, Director, Producers, Cast and Crew for bringing this masterpiece for the viewers on such a crucial topic which a common man is ignorant about. This is a phenomenal movie production I have seen in recent times. This is not a regular romcom entertainment movie but instead touches on several serious subjects of national importance. Article 370 has all the flavors for being a Political Thriller packed with Action, Drama and Emotions. This movie is not for the faint hearted. It will give you an adrenaline rush and heart thumping Patriotism sparkling throughout the movie. The movie is correctly paced and keeps the audience engaged. The heart misses a beat looking at the Pulwama attack and the depiction has been spot on. The depiction of the Kashmir valley has been very thorough and the credit goes to the Director Aditya for his exemplary role and judgment to get the best out of everyone.

Solid film about the most important constitutional work

I, like most other Indians, was an enthusiastic supporter of the abrogation of Article 370, in the state of J & K and was curious about the behind the scenes of this momentous decision and so decided to check this out.

This gives a blow-by-blow account of this historic act, by juxtaposing the security challenges, faced by the defensive forces on the ground, alongside the legislative and legalistic ones, faced by the government.

It showcases the highlights between the slaying of the social media savvy terrorist Burhan Wani, in 2016 and 5th of August, 2019, when this article was consigned to history.

It doesn't get into documentary / pedantic mode.

The screenplay does a solid job simplifying the search for the ways to take down this special status, within the limits of the constitution.

For me, the weak parts were the one in the second half where there are several unnecessary action scenes, which seem to be inserted only to heighten the drama.

Yami Gautam is growing as an actress and she is solid as the NIA agent. Arun Gowil as Modi and Raj Zutshi as Omar Abdullah put up memorable, little cameos.

I liked it. One of the better Hindi films of 2024.

Top Class !!!

I am a huge fan of political thrillers and barring a handful, Indian cinema hasn't been able to produce one of a top notch quality with the highest production values, finest performances, nail biting thrill and a satisfying experience of watching a fine film. Article 370 gives you all of that and much more, for it is based on the actual subject of abrogation of Article 370 from the Indian Constitution and the events leading up to it.

The research gone into the film is excellent and explained to the audience in such a lucid and simple manner which is a big win for the makers. There could be certain portions which have been fictionalised but that doesn't hamper the narrative and the facts. Most filmmakers tend to abuse 'Cinematic liberty' and don't realise as to where to stop. The director does realise that creates a world which is believable and factual.

I'm of the opinion that this film must be watched by every Indian.

One of the finest real life incident shown in most realistic way as could be

In brief, it's one of such movie which will go down in history how true incidents can be depicted in an engaging manner, representation of truth and facts in best researched manner as possible.

It's a groundbreaking movie, you don't feel in theatre it's 2 hr:40mins movie, it's so engaging and gripping till end.

There are also moments when you feel with characters, portraying and screenplay is so well done.

They've divided in parts the incidents and that was so justified and prompt.

All the characters felt real and believable, you guys must watch this with your friends and families in theatre.

Must watch as movie lover.

It's a ride, not a revelation.

Oh, buckle up, folks, 'cause we're diving into the cinematic masterpiece that's about as grounded in reality as a unicorn at a rave. The story? A wild ride on the make-believe express, chugging full steam ahead into fantasyland, leaving little ol' reality eating its dust.

Now, the screenplay - oh, honey, it's not just draped in nationalism; it's practically bathing in it, with zero chill on the patriotic front. It's like they're trying to sell you a brand of patriotism so exclusive, it only exists in their heads. And the timing? Chef's kiss Perfect for stirring the pot just when election season's heating up. Coincidence? I think not.

Let's talk narration - it's like that one friend who's super into conspiracy theories and somehow makes them sound legit. You know it's all wild speculation, but dang, it's entertaining.

Yami Gautam, bless her, still manages to shine like a diamond in a rhinestone world. Girl's picking scripts like she's the only one in town with taste. Priyamani and the gang? They're doing what they can, serving up performances that almost make you forget you're watching a glorified political pamphlet.

The direction and cinematography? On point, I guess, if you're into that sort of aesthetic - making propaganda look pretty. And the music? It's there, doing its best to set the mood, bless its heart.

In short, if you're in the mood to indulge in a fantasy so detached from reality it needs its own zip code, and you love a good fictional tale masquerading as something profound - this flick's your ticket. Just, for the love of all things sensible, don't walk out of there thinking you've just been enlightened with the sacred truth. It's a ride, not a revelation.

Wow, Just Wowww

Amazing masterpiece of a movie. Glimpse of what really happened in background of this historical decision. Loved every minute of it. So many things I want to say about this review but I don't want to spoil it we know about what really happened in terms of media coverage but how much hard work went through what kind of decisions were taken how many people sacrificed their life. It makes you wonder how many peoples which are real heroes of our society go unnotist unnoticed. This movie makes you think about your priorities your goals your roots and what our civilization went through by barbarik invaders.

One of the best Hindi movie of recent times

This is one of the best Hindi movies of 2024. A real no-non sense master piece keeps you glued to the screen for the full duration.

Highly recommend to all the Indians where you could see some specific details of how the task was actually executed. True acting was great and movie is not overshadowed by stars and other Bollywood nuances.

Also did a good job to show the woman power, does a better job than many other feminist moves in this department. Selection of characters is great and resembles closely with what might have happened in the real life.

I wish this movie was a little more kids friendly so that they can also celebrate it.

Watch this in theatres!

Hats off to the director. They have covered all angles around Article 370 - political, legal, economical, social and security - all in 2.5 hours.

Great performances by Yami Gautam, Kiran Karmarkar and Arun Govil. The movie starts around 2015 seperatist insurgency and shows all important events in the valley in timeline upto the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.

The legal complications and intrepretations on the abrogation which not a lot of people are aware about, are also covered in the film on a surface level.

There are no masala dialogues or songs, and movie is gripping to the end through great acting, screenplay, bgm and direction.

Watch this with your family in cinemas.

Gritty, raw and hard hitting film.

I went to see a movie in a theater after a long time and I am glad it was Article 370 - a gritty, raw and hard hitting film.

Rarely a movie captures the real events as this film has done. Right from the incident of Burhan Wani the film sets its unflinching narrative of the story behind the abrogation of Article 370. I am sure many cinematic liberties have been taken to show the story in a cinematic way but I am happy that it is not too emotional or too patriotic. It rather takes the tough flavour of the land.

The movie answers many questions about Article 370, which may not be known to everyone. The minute details behind its amendments in 1954, 1958 and 1965 are very well explained in a cinematic way. So it is both entertaining and educating.

The fast paced narrative works very well. I put my phone on airplane mode and never had to see the time.

The performances of all the actors are brilliant. Yami Gautam is in terrific form, Priyamani is superb as the Joint Secretary in PMO. The actors playing the role of PM Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah are aptly cast.

Overall a great experience. I saw this movie alone in a packed theater but I am planning to take my family during the weekend.

A must watch to understand Article 370 & Kashmir politics.

A black and white take on Kashmir issue, events happened in past decade and steps taken by Modi government to remove Article 370 to connect the valley with India.

A tight written script, adding many real incidents like pulwama attack, encounter of terrorists, political leadership in valley makes the movie interesting to watch from start to finish.

Nicely directed by a little unknown director. Acting and action are done perfectly, obviously to name Yami Gautam.

Rest all characters are perfect in place and help in building the plot.

Do watch with family, kids to make them understand the events, background happened to bring the article 370 down.

Article 370: A Politically Charged Thriller

"Article 370" attempts to dramatize the political maneuvering behind the landmark decision to abrogate Article 370, which granted special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Written by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and Aditya Dhar, the film delves into the events leading up to this significant constitutional change, including the killing of Burhan Wani, the Pulwama attack, and the parliamentary vote on Article 370.

Starring Yami Gautam and Priya Mani in prominent roles, with support from Arun Govil, Raj Arun, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Raj Zutshi, and Kiran Karmarkar, the film boasts a talented cast. Gautam shines as NIA Agent Zooni Haksar, bringing fire and dedication reminiscent of her performance in "Uri," while Mani impresses as PMO Joint Secretary Rajeshwari Swaminathan, portraying a politically astute character with depth.

Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar convincingly embody the roles of the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India, drawing on real-life figures for inspiration. Raj Zutshi's portrayal of J&K Chief Minister Salahuddin Jalal adds a compelling antagonist element to the narrative.

However, the film is not without its flaws. While it purports to be a fictional tale based on real events, it takes creative liberties that result in factual inaccuracies. These inaccuracies are cleverly masked but may detract from the overall viewing experience for those familiar with the subject matter.

Moreover, "Article 370" leans more towards political drama than action, which may disappoint audiences expecting a fast-paced thriller akin to "Uri." The stylized drama outweighs the action sequences, and a more balanced approach could have elevated the film to greater heights.

Despite its shortcomings, "Article 370" offers a glimpse into the complex political landscape surrounding the abrogation of Article 370. Its release timing, just before the Lok Sabha elections and on the OTT platform Netflix, adds a layer of relevance to its narrative. Overall, while the film falls short of its potential, it remains a thought-provoking exploration of a significant moment in Indian political history.

Absolutely Masterpiece After Uri

Film is set in the backdrop of events leading up to the abrogation of Art. 370 that took down temporary autonomy provided to the Indian State of J&K owing to a historical reason dated to the period of Indian independence. The socio-political and legal nature of situation along with challenges to security of the nation of India that presented itself prior to and during abrogation of Art. 370, is explored in this film.

The film amongst it's types marks a promising departure of Indian film industry from the traditional Indian melodramatic "hero/heroine centric" films to a more narrative driven approach where characters and the situation appear more grounded, close to reality as would be expected from a film re-telling a recent well documented historical event as it happened. Acting is natural and scenes undergo a smooth but meaningful transition. Pan-Indian nature of the event has been beautifully presented in the Film with actors from many regions of the country speaking various tongues are used. Emphasis is on the narrative while actors add quality to the narration.

Cinematography capturing the beauty of Kashmir to realistic military strike scenes without abrupt cuts mark the specialty of the film. Direction is such that it doesn't sacrifice the human element while providing an absorbing narrative. Creativity and intellect of the director comes in where the military element has to be shown parallel to the diplomatic and legislative events. This has been executed flawlessly as military confrontation has been shown alongside the proceedings in the Parliament, the beating heart of Indian democracy. Scene transitions are smooth and narration grips you in such a way that you are drawn into the film from the start.

Stellar acting by Yami Gautam, Priyamani, Kiran Karmarkar, Raj Arjun, Ashwini Koul etc. For a grounded narration, the actors/actresses have done a fantastic job. Dialogue delivery is strong with emphasis on the situation.

Sepecial Mention : A few caricaturist portrayals of politicians & journalists & labelling every govt move a masterstroke Engaging Absolutely 100.

"Article 370: A Political Thriller with Authenticity and Flair"

"Article 370" stands out as one of Bollywood's rare political thrillers, focusing on real, tangible characters while presenting a captivating story inspired by true events. In an industry often dominated by formulaic narratives and larger-than-life characters, this film offers a refreshing change with its grounded approach and intense storytelling.

In his directorial debut, Aditya Jambhale showcases his remarkable ability to craft tense and gripping sequences. Whether it's the intense ground crossfire scenes between armed forces and militants or the charged conversations among government officials in meeting rooms, Jambhale's direction keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. He manages to maintain a sense of urgency and suspense throughout the film, which is no small feat given the complex political backdrop against which the story unfolds. Despite the film's extended runtime, the tight pacing and skillful direction ensure that the story remains engaging and immersive throughout. The film does not drag, but rather, keeps the viewer constantly intrigued and invested in the unfolding drama.

A significant highlight of the film is Yami Gautam's powerful performance as NIA agent Zooni Haksar. Gautam masterfully balances calmness and emotion, bringing depth and authenticity to her character. Her portrayal stands out as one of the film's strongest elements, as she captures the nuances of her character's inner conflicts and professional dedication. Gautam's Zooni Haksar is a formidable presence, embodying both vulnerability and strength in a manner that feels real and relatable. Her performance is a testament to her versatility as an actress and adds substantial weight to the film's narrative.

But Gautam is not alone in delivering a memorable performance. The entire cast of "Article 370" deserves commendation for their strong portrayals. Each actor brings a sense of realism to their roles, contributing to the film's overall impact. The supporting characters, from government officials to military personnel, are portrayed with a level of detail that adds to the film's authenticity. This collective effort by the cast helps ground the film's more dramatic moments, ensuring that they resonate with the audience.

The film's technical aspects are also noteworthy. The cinematography captures the stark beauty and harsh realities of the film's settings, whether it's the rugged landscapes of conflict zones or the sterile confines of bureaucratic offices. The use of lighting and camera angles enhances the tension and emotional weight of each scene. Additionally, the sound design and score complement the narrative, heightening the suspense and drawing the audience deeper into the story.

However, "Article 370" is not without its flaws. The film takes an unfortunate turn in its last 20-30 minutes. What starts as a gripping and realistic narrative transforms into what can only be described as a polished government press release. This shift is disappointing, especially since the film had managed to avoid political propaganda up until this point. The climax feels more like a homage to the government rather than an organic continuation of the story. This abrupt change in tone undermines the film's earlier efforts to present a balanced and nuanced view of its subject matter.

This issue with the climax does not negate the film's overall achievements, but it does leave a lingering sense of what could have been. The concluding segment's overt political messaging feels out of place in a film that had otherwise prioritized storytelling over sloganeering. It's a misstep that slightly tarnishes an otherwise commendable effort.

Despite this shortcoming, "Article 370" remains a well-directed and well-acted political thriller. The film successfully captures the essence of its characters and the intensity of their situations, making it a noteworthy addition to the genre. It is slightly let down by its conclusion, which detracts from the otherwise compelling and authentic narrative.

Overall, "Article 370" is a commendable effort in Bollywood's political thriller landscape. It offers a fresh perspective with its real characters and tense sequences, though it stumbles in its final act. Nonetheless, it is a film worth watching for its strong performances and engaging storytelling. Aditya Jambhale's debut marks him as a director to watch, and Yami Gautam's performance is a highlight that should not be missed. For audiences seeking a film that combines political intrigue with human drama, "Article 370" delivers a largely satisfying experience.

Well crafted political thriller

Kudos to the young director and producers! This a masterpiece. Fast paced, well written and brilliantly performed by all actors. The film highlights role played by security forces and bureaucrats in this critical move. Not a single dull moment. The story revolves around security forces deployed in Kashmir. First half focuses on the challenges faced by security forces deployed in Kashmir, the second half shows the meticulous preparation done by bureaucracy and security forces before abrogation of article 370.

Yami has given her career best. Special mention of young director for his debut film, he has directed it like a seasoned one.
