After the television film HANNE with INTERNATIONAL EMMY AWARD nominee Iris BERBEN, this film broadcast by the German television station ARD is the second collaboration between director Dominik GRAF and screenwriter Beate LANGMAACK.

A forensic biologist (Anne RATTE-POLLE) examines corpses in a Wolfsburg institute and has led a rather lonely life since her divorce. Her elderly father (Jörg GUDZUHN) is becoming increasingly difficult, and the many examinations at the institute are also demanding a lot from the woman. One day she decides to take over the care and training of a falcon, which leads to unexpected complications...

At the beginning, GRAF recites the famous falcon poem by the Middle High German poet DER VON KÜRENBERG in a sonorous voice. A pleasure! And the highlighting of a claim that can hardly be discovered on German-language television anymore.

In beautiful pictures from Wolfsburg (with the VW factory that dates back to the Nazi era) and from the Elm mountain range near Braunschweig, the touching story of a woman is told who is only gradually able to break through the frozen ice within herself. It's great how the German actress Anne RATTE-POLLE chases after the escaped falcon in the living room! Or how touching it is about former Nazi forced laborers from the Netherlands who had to toil in the VW factory!

This film is beautiful and yet does not ignore the deep wounds of the dark past in a country like Germany. Only an exceptional director like Dominik GRAF can do something like that. How lucky we are to have him!
