After years apart, a deported father tries reconnecting with his resentful VP son who's forced to take him in. Despite challenges, they aim to rebuild their fractured relationship.

Pedro, a widower, develops feelings for Fernanda, his son Junior's boss. Disapproving, Junior confronts Pedro who opts to hide his affection, moving in with a friend where he learns Fernanda is Junior's mother-in-law.

Due to an eating disorder, Mariana faints at the office, alerting and worrying Junior and Fernanda, who don't know how to help her. Pedro, eager to move out due to Elvira's continuous sexual harassment, applies for a job in the same company where his son works. As an errand boy, he gets back home to and unexpected visit.

Pedro is shaken after seeing Paula. In turn, Junior offers Pedro an invitation to breakfast, which he doesn't hesitate to accept, hoping to spend time with his son. However, Junior complains about the job Pedro got as an office boy, and then offers him a better position. Pedro doesn't accept his help: he wants to fend for himself.

Junior wants to reveal Pedro is his dad at Fernanda's BBQ. Pedro fears rejection and tries to stop him. Mariana's relapse delays the reveal. Pedro finds Fernanda crying about Mariana's situation.

Pedro confesses to Fernanda that he is the new errand boy and confides in her about his financial situation. Having her own secrets, she supports him, and they grow closer together. Junior and Fernanda leave on a business trip and Pedro moves to Junior's apartment to escape from Elvira. Meanwhile, the company suffers a cyber-attack and one of the engineers may have found who the culprit is.

Pipe blackmails Cata with a sexual video of them, so she won't accuse him of the cyber-attack. Meanwhile, Mariana causes a dispute within the company and several employees decide to resign. Pedro then decides he must save Junior from this woman and speaks to the employees to prevent a mass. Aligning himself with Mariana, Pipe, plants suspicion in everyone, including Junior.

Mariana and Pipe have a secret night together. Fernanda meets Mariana's father, asking Junior to keep it quiet. Pedro video calls Fernanda and Junior about the company. He learns Paula is sick but won't get treatment.

Cata finds a way to get rid of Pipe's blackmail by erasing their sex video. She also demands for a huge amount of money to keep quiet about him being behind the cyber-attack. Pedro has a date with Paula, who asks him not to talk about her disease and enjoy the moment instead. Meanwhile, Fernanda decides to return earlier to tell Mariana that her father is still alive.

Mariana is mad at Fernanda for keeping the secret about his father for so and leaves the house. When Junior returns from his business trip, Pedro tells him about the argument with Mariana, without letting him know that she wanted to blame him for the cyber-attack. Pedro is stunned when Junior tells him that Mariana is moving in with him and decides to find a new home.

Fernanda, depressed because of her argument with Mariana, finds support in Pedro, who sees her as more than a friend. He finally makes his wish come true when he spends the night with her. Mariana meets Julio, who tells her a very different version of the past. Meanwhile, Pedro returns to Elvira and Fernando's house, which is now crowded with Enrique, his daughter and his ex, Yadira.

Junior scolds his dad for spending the night with Fernanda, but Pedro doesn't give him any details. Mariana organizes a meeting with her parents and tells them that she decided to sell her share of the company to Julio, which Fernanda refuses. Fernanda seeks Pedro to discuss what happened between them, and surprises him by saying she wants to date him no matter what.

Paula tells Pedro that she doesn't have much time left and asks him to be happy and not make the same mistakes, like falling for the wrong person. Pedro knows she is talking about Fernanda and denies being romantically involved with her. Pedro organizes a luncheon for his friends at Elvira's and invites Fernanda. She enjoys getting to know Pedro's world, despite being the center of attention.

Junior tells Mariana that Pedro Coral is his father. Hurt, she reveals who Pedro is to her mother. Fernanda is devastated by the lie and wanting to take responsibility for having lied, Pedro and Junior quit. Fernanda asks Junior for some time to find a replacement. Pedro, being deep in sorrow about where he stands with Fernanda, has an accident.

Fernanda believes Pipe could replace Junior, but Mariana knows he is the one responsible for the cyber-attack, so she thinks Cata should take the position. Feeling better, Pedro decides to start a dating app that can spot lies. Nobody has any faith in the project, but Pedro manages to find allies when he introduces Junior to his programing professor Lucia.

Paula receives the stolen program from Diego, Pipe's accomplice. Lucia works on a software to detects when a person lies through changes in their pupils and shows Junior its functionality and potential, although he is worried that she is enabling his dad's crazy ideas. Paula sends Fernanda the program using Pedro as messenger, and she gets suspicious when she realizes it's the one stolen from her.

Fernanda tries to make Pipe confess but fails. Mariana represents the company at a conference and uses her connections to get Junior invited. She takes the opportunity to ask him to get back together, but Junior initially refuses. Finally, he admits he still has feelings for her and decides to take her back. Pedro is stunned by a midnight call from Fernanda.

Pedro meets Fernanda and explains the reasons for lying about who he really was. He begs for her forgiveness, trying to get back together, but Fernanda only offers him her friendship and Pedro is deeply hurt. Back from the conference, Junior brings Lucia good news regarding the dating app. Fernanda asks Junior for help to convince her daughter not to make Julio a partner.

Diego plans to give Pipe away, so Pipe demands Mariana for help, threatening to reveal what happened between them, jeopardizing hers and Junior's relationship. The American software developers arrive to help with the app and are delighted with Lucia and Pedro. Fernanda tells Pedro about Mariana cheating and he's left wondering what to do.

Cornered, Mariana tells Junior that she cheated on him. Pedro offers to listen to his son and cheer him up, but Junior refuses to talk about it. Instead, he confronts Pipe before he's arrested. The app is ready to beta testing, and Pedro tries it first. Junior breaks up with Mariana and she decides to close the deal with Julio. To avoid further confrontation, Fernanda decides to sell her shares.

Junior convinces Lucia to work with Fernanda and join forces against Julio and Mariana, who in turn is stunned to see the new shareholders and gets furious when Pedro takes a seat at the table, and decides to go to war with them. Fernanda proposes to Pedro that, instead of having a serious relationship, they can be lovers.

Fernanda names Pedro chief of staff despite conflicts with Julio and Mariana. Pedro mourns Paula, finds solace in Fernanda. Junior and Lucia become interested in dating as Mariana disappears mysteriously.

Mariana's disappearance was a ploy. Her feud with Fernanda intensifies. Aided by Julio, she gains control of the company. Mariana reveals she's pregnant with Junior's child, causing Junior and Lucia, Pedro and Fernanda to separate.
