This movie from an up-and-coming director is outright fun. The jokes are smart, without having to think them through. Don't be put off by the shaky filming at the beginning of the movie, it's because the characters are just recording themselves with their phones. Though I would need to rewatch this movie (which I watched for the first time over a year ago) to give this review more details, I remember laughing out loud while also gripping the edge of my seat from the suspense and plot twists! A must watch mystery flick, even just to admire the cool architecture of the glass casa itself. Congratulations Laa!

Fun movie with a playful tone. I thought the lead woman had some nice chops, and the dialogue is sharp and well directed. Story was ultimately a bit meaningless, and lacked a cohesive theme. But there were some interesting psychological undertones, and I was genuinely compelled.
Cinematography is lovely. It looks slick, and the lighting is top notch. Some of the acting crossed the line from campy to cringe. But I believed the chemistry between the characters, and everybody was having so much fun that I went along for the ride anyway.
I'll be interested to see what this director does in the future. She clearly had a lot of fun putting this film together.

Love a good dark comedy and this one did not disappoint. An engaging murder mystery with a fun cast of characters. Very relatable and thoughtfully curated to create an ensemble where everyone will have a few favorites. The story kept me on the edge of my seat through the end. Just as you expect things to go a certain way you are hit with an unexpected twist. Along with the mystery there were many ridiculous moments that had me laughing. Overall it was a fun movie I enjoyed with my husband. Which says a lot because we don't always agree - this is one of those films that all will have a good time watching.

Glass Casa is a wild ride that will leave you gasping for air with its hilarious absurdity and leave you on the edge of your seat with its unpredictable twists and turns. This thriller-comedy masterfully blends humor and suspense, creating a unique and unforgettable cinematic experience. The dialogue crackles with witty banter and unexpected turns of phrase, while beneath the surface of the humor lies a surprisingly poignant exploration of the human condition. The film boasts a stellar cast, each actor bringing a unique and compelling presence to their role. The backdrop/ architecture of glass casa is stunning.
This work is a perfect blend of laugh-out-loud humor and gripping suspense, a challenging combination executed brilliantly. The script is exceptionally well-written, featuring sharp, witty dialogue that brings the characters to life while keeping the humor fresh and natural. The pacing is great too, seamlessly transitioning between comedic moments and edge-of-your-seat tension. Each scene feels purposeful, with clever twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end. The humor lightens the mood without diminishing the stakes, and the suspense heightens the impact of every joke. A smart, engaging treat that's both entertaining and memorable!
A delightfully absurd indie thriller-comedy that leans into clichés with lots of charm. Quirky and entertaining. SoCal vibes galore. Each character brought much color to the movie and the plot was engaging and funny. I was entertained the whole time and the movie went fast even though it's almost 2 hours long. Watch this movie, it's quirky silly fun!
PS: Glass Casa proves that indie films can stand on their own feet. Movie creator Laa Marcus pulled off something pretty magical. I went to the movie premiere and listened to the Q&A afterwards which gave me a deeper appreciation for the passion and talent it took. This movie easily stands with movies with significantly bigger budgets!

Glass Casa puts a modern spin on the classic whodunit, blending dark comedy with sharp wit in a lighthearted way. While it carries the intrigue of a murder mystery, the tone remains playful-perfectly suited even for those who shy away from intense content. Jamie, the lead character, delivers a standout performance, but it's her best friend, Bianca, with her comedic flair, and the enigmatic house guest, Charlie, who steal the show with their charm and humor. The stunning cinematography captures your attention, adding an extra layer of atmosphere to the murder mystery. With clever twists and laugh-out-loud moments, the movie is an ideal choice for a cozy night in, especially during the holiday season. If you love a mix of comedy and suspense, you won't want to miss this masterpiece!

I love mysteries and I love dark comedies. This movie hit the nail on the head in both regards. The roles were well cast, and I connected in some way to every character.
I really enjoyed how it is all set in the rental house that the bachelorettes choose for their getaway. And what a house! The lighting and cinematography was truly impressive.
This movie delivers that unique play-inside-a-play dynamic, which I found very compelling.
I was honestly guessing who had done it until the very end, and after the reveal it all clicked. I like to guess what will happen in these sorts of mysteries, thrillers, etc., but in this film I couldn't. And that's a GOOD thing!
Will be recommending this to friends and family. Bravo!

Funny and weird, a blast to sit back to watch and laugh-and wonder what's coming next. Suddenly a fright! Written, directed and produced by Laa Marcus, the film will attact viewers into a fresh dark comedy/ murder mystery/ thriller with hints of the films White Knight, Clue, Knives Out, Bodies Bodies Bodies. A strong ensemble of young women are having a bachelorette party in this stately modern home by the seaside in sunny California when they discover a "new age" drifter in the home's basement and then a dead body. Suddenly the groom comes by, the mystery turns and up comes the tension. The cast shows its independent bonifides with actors playing real people who go through the emotional stages of silly fun to wonderment to fright all in one bizarre night. As such the film veers from what could be real life situations, to dark humor and absurdity. The score is memorable and cinematography keeps your on the screen. For Laa Marcus, Glass Casa is her first full length feature. She is someone to keep and eye on. I look forward to see what she does next.
This film is amazing. So funny, so clever, surprising, and just intriguing the entire time. Cannot recommend this film enough! Amazing cast, director, producers, just all together a must see for those that love a mystery with a spin and some humor. The music is a great fit as well- it builds suspense and appropriate lightness as you move through the film bringing you along in the story. If you enjoy a mystery in modern times with a spin and surprises with lots of humor this is definitely the movie for you! The movie draws you in and doesn't let you go until you solve the mystery along with the main characters.

My partner and I had a lot of fun watching this.
I love mysteries in general, and I really enjoyed theorizing about what was going on while watching this one. No spoilers, but I will say I'm usually pretty fast at figuring out the culprit, and this one kept me guessing a little longer than most whodunits do!
Extra points for the amazing location, some stellar costuming choices, and wild plot turns. I like it when movies take some risks and send things in unexpected directions, and this one definitely does that!
Watch it with a group of friends so you can compare theories and see if you can solve it before the characters!

I wasn't expecting it to be this good!
I dare you to predict the ending of this movie. Good luck!
The brilliance here is that it takes the murder genre and kinda twists it. Everything feels so common and so familiar, but then it all goes wrong.
Very funny ("Did they really just say that?!") dialogue, and you think you know what's going to happen, but there are a ton surprises along the way.
The writing was fresh and interesting...it sort of creates its own world that takes you on a journey that you didn't see coming.
I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to see what kind of insane films this team creates next. Highly recommended.

Glass Casa is definitely one of those films that does not disappoint. I had a lot of fun watching this one. It will keep it's audience laughing while also delivering some surprising thrills. It's just a must see for those who love a good murder mystery with a little bit of humor. In addition to the performances delivered and the hilarity, the film in my opinion did excel in its ability to play with the audience's expectation. One minute it would offer moments of ridiculousness, delivering laughs but then have you hanging on to the edge of your seat in equal measure. All of the actors delivered an outstanding performance. Great job with this one!

I watched Glass Casa twice now, first at the San Diego film festival and just tonight with my mom and sisters for a girls night. It was such a fun time, the cast had me laughing and feeling like I was hanging out with a real group of besties. I especially loved how they stuck together like glue when scared rather than splitting up. They were not only some of the funniest scenes, but smart, too! And the pace never let up, there was never a dull moment, and you never knew what to expect next. Check this movie out if you want to laugh a lot and maybe scream once or twice too. It won't disappoint!

GLASS CASA (2023), written and directed by Laa Marcus, is a darkly comedic bachellorette party "gone wrong" thriller that echoes the chaotic energy of the bachelor party "gone wrong" film, VERY BAD THINGS. The film is anchored by a talented ensemble cast, including a stand out performance by Harley Bronwyn as the intense yet charismatic bride to be, as well as strong performances by
Geri Courtney-Austein as the bubbly paranoid Evie, Nicole Clifford as the sharp-witted schemer, Alison Iles as the conflicted voice of reason, and Justin Michael Terry as their goofy wise cracking guy pal Charlie. Not to mention, a strong supporting cast of eccentric characters including Jon Huybrecht, Travis Laughlin, Xyla Glass, Julie Marcus, Anthony De Cruz, and Lizet Benrey. With its sharp script, moral diemas, and unpredictable twists, GLASS CASA offers a thrilling, suspense-filled whodunnit that will keep you hooked from start to finish.
If you enjoy a fast action packed comedic mystery , you will be entertained by this movie. The plot is well crafted and unfolds as it moves to its unexpected conclusion. The suspense builds as it leads you down a dark path...The cast of characters offer intermittent light relief as the suspense builds. The actors perform consistently as a good ensemble. This movie as a "who done it", keeps the suspense until the very end as the mystery unfolds.
The cinematography is challenging as there are glass reflections and mirrors , but the visuals are wonderful in the dramatic setting of a contemporary glass home.
If you are looking for light entertainment, you will enjoy the theme of a pre wedding weekend bridal party gone awry!!!

Glass Casa will have you on the edge of your seat, and it will also make you smile and laugh at various moments. The plot twists will keep you guessing and in suspense. The house where Glass Casa is set infuses a dramatic and aesthetically pleasing element, and it makes the film truly stand out. This movie reminds me of the Blaire Witch Project for the horror aspect and its stark realism, but it has much higher production value. If you like mystery or comedy or drama or a fusion of all those genres, Glass Casa definitely offers something for you. Laa Marcus is an up-and-coming talent in the industry and I'm excited to see what she produces next. You shouldn't miss this hidden gem!
