This was actually quite okay...

Well, I have to admit that my beforehand view of the 2023 crime mystery thriller "How She Caught a Killer" might have been a bit tarnished by it being a Lifetime movie. But still, I opted to sit down and watch the movie, giving it a fair chance.

The storyline in "How She Caught a Killer", as written by Yuri Baranovsky and Angela Gulner, was actually a fairly good one. Sure, there were aspects to the storyline that were generic, but for a crime mystery thriller, then the movie actually proved to be entertaining enough for what it turned out to be.

The acting performances in the movie were good, and there were a couple of semi-familiar faces on the cast list, those being Eric Keenleyside and Jamall Johnson.

If you enjoy crime mystery thrillers, then give director Robin Hays's 2023 movie "How She Caught a Killer" a chance. I was adequately entertained by what it turned out to be.

My rating of "How She Caught a Killer" lands on a six out of ten stars.

A new police women act as a prostitute for catch a serial killer.. After knowing the serial killer also hard to get him becozz lack of evidence... I didn't find any uniqueness in this movie compared to other serial killer movies... One time watchable movie..!

Lifetime movie

It's 1987 Minnesota. A hitchhiking girl gets picked up by a van. She is brutally tortured and murdered. A year later, Linda Murphy (Sarah Drew) graduates from the police academy following her late father's footsteps. The killer has been torturing and murdering prostitutes. The investigation is going nowhere. Linda is desperate to help, but her boss David Goodman (Eric Keenleyside) refuses. The FBI reluctantly sends new agent Neil Carter who suggests going undercover. Linda finally gets her wish. She befriends prostitute Shelly Ngo (Julia Sarah Stone).

This Lifetime movie is supposedly inspired by real events although they are at pains to write that there are many differences in all aspects. Sarah Drew is fine although in her 40's, she may be a bit old for the role. They call out a few times that she used to be a secretary. Quite frankly, Julia Sarah Stone would fit better in the role. Sarah Drew could play an older prostitute worn down by the streets. The investigation is rather straight forward and less than intense. The ending pushes the dial too far in the other direction. All in all, this is fine for the most part.

An Okay Lifetime Movie

This film begins in 1986 with a former prostitute named "Joyce Peterson" (Delilah Hamlin) who is now working as a nurse and heading to the hospital to start her shift. Since her father, "Stan Peterson" (Donavon Stinson), is somewhat intoxicated, Joyce decides to hitchhike to work alone. Unfortunately, Stan is devastated to learn that her body has been found the next day. Fast forward two years, and a young woman named "Linda Murphy" (Sarah Drew) graduates from the police academy and reports for duty the following day. It is then that she discovers that several other sex workers have been killed recently and volunteers to go undercover as a prostitute to gather information. However, what she doesn't realize is the emotional toll she will have to bear to solve the case. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this was a decent Lifetime movie, which suffered to some degree from the rather generic format associated with films of that kind. That said, although it's not a great movie by any means, I suppose it passed the time reasonably well, and I have rated it accordingly. Average.

Not bad

Better than I thought it would be....... Based on a true story about a serial killer killing prostitutes on route 40....... The acting is good and the characters believable..... . I actually enjoyed it .......Usually lifetime movies aren't the best and the acting mediocre at best......watch it you'll be pleasantly surprised......Sarah drew is a great little actor as the new cop pretending to be a prostitute to trap the serial killer. She genuinely cares about the working ladies and wants to protect them. I was hoping for a romance between her and the FBI agent played by Jamall Johnson.........
