MOVIE #6 OF THE 100 HORROR MOVIE WATCH CHALLENGE
RATING - 4.4🍿
This found footage style horror film follows the life of Belle, a young girl filming her everyday life. As Dad is on a business trip, the mother seems to be losing it and dark intentions from a dark intenty take over. The found footage is an inside look at what happened.
I give this watch 4.4 bags of 🍿 as the film just takes way too long to develop and you're stuck there just watching them live their lives. Every point where I thought something has to start happening it just makes you wait longer and when it finally gets going it just didn't do it for me. I thought at many points in the story they could of built it up very well but just was very underwhelming for me.
I'm T 🎬 and I hope you're day is full of peace and love.

Where do I even begin with this mess of a movie? Do I start with the ridiculous plot, the horrendous and laughable acting or the embarrassing special effects? It's all so bad, I struggled to find even one redeemable quality in this movie and I really can't. For the life of me, I don't understand why people with no talent decide to make found-cottage films. If you look at my review history, you'll find that FF is one of my favorite genres and the one I'm most critical of because so many people just outright fail at making them. This movie is not only one of the worst FF films I've ever seen, but I can't think of a single one that's even worse than this.
The story is barebones and poorly presented, so it's not even worth mentioning. What is worth addressing is the poor excuse for acting from the entire cast; there were 4 people in this movie and each one was worse than the last in every way. The father delivered his lines in a monotone that displayed no emotion, the daughter read her lines poorly and laughed during the serious moments, the son was forgettable, and the worst offender, the mother. I've rarely seen acting this bad in a FF movie but this person really takes the cake. Lines delivered poorly, with no acting ability of talent. It was like watching someone's audition video for a community college production. Truly dreadful. Every time she opened her mouth I visibly cringed, she delivered her lines with all the aplomb of someone who has never acted a day in her life.
The acting was bad, but nothing was worse than the absolutely horrible SFX. In a world where talented and capable SFX artists can be found everywhere from YouTube to TikTok, why on earth would you skimp out on one? Why even bother using special effects if it's going to be this bad? I am ashamed for the people taking credit for this. It really was a hack job and I shudder to think what else they've worked on.
I'm giving this movie 3 stars because I watched it until the end, and only because it was a little over an hour. That's literally it. It doesn't deserve a single more. It was dreadful, the acting was comical at best, and everything about it just left a really bad impression on me. I'll be keeping a careful eye on the people responsible for this so that I avoid every future movie by everyone involved. I have high standards for FF and this is beyond bottom of the barrel, this is insulting,
Do not waste your time on reading the high reviews by obvious friends and family. I'm neither, and I am also HONEST, and this movie was bad and will be a waste of your time. Do not be dumb enough to watch it like I was.

Slow movie and the ending was insanely disturbing and confusing. In the midddle it was going well but at the end turned very confusing and very convoluted and was a horrible ending period. Wouls not reccomend for anyone at all. PERIOD!!!! I wasted an hour and a half of my life on this movie only to be left with more questions than answers. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
This movie was an insane waste of my time of nearly two hours and I am ashamed of this production company that had done well in the pasts.
The ending was insanely ambiguous and confusing and the time I wasted tonight could have been better off reading a book.

After a horrific disappearance, the release of footage from the affected family designed to help find out what happened to the missing daughter shows their typical family life which soon grows darker and more ominous forcing them to figure out what's going on to save themselves.
This was a fairly solid and intriguing found-footage effort. Among the brighter aspects to be had with this one is the great build-up that provides the kind of intriguing setup for how this one plays out. The first half here, spending as much time as it does detailing the family strife and their interactions with each other that does show them to be a fairly normal loving family that does have a dark secret hiding amongst them due to the glances and cryptic conversations that are shown to take place on the fringes of their relationship just barely captured by the camera. Since so much of the focus comes on her and her antics that are usually featured alongside her brother, the fact that the these subtle hints are dropped nicely alongside the footage taken from the security cameras that tries to suggest something else happening to the family, this one does a fairly solid job portraying the build-up of the family. As this one goes along and it starts to spell out the truth about the situation in a series of increasingly more ominous sequences, there's a dramatically more chilling tone and atmosphere that hangs over the film as the kids gradually find the behavior and outbursts to be far more concerning as they notice her increasingly crazed behavior. From ranting and raving in the middle of the night to bizarre crying fits in the oddest places around the house to seemingly harmless children's games that turn into psychologically terrifying experiences that highlight something not right in the whole ordeal, there's quite a chilling finale here that sets everything up quite nicely. This does take a while to get going as there's a rather low-key nature of what's going on takes the more reserved nature of the storyline into the main focus which keeps things at a measured but potentially sluggish tempo for some that might not be thrilled with the lack of action or overt explanations for what's going on.
Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language, children-in-jeopardy, and Violence.

I enjoyed the movie and found the ending satisfying. Most FF endings leave you feeling cheated, but this one did not. There wasn't a massive M. Night Shyamalan twist, but it was still great.
One criticism is that for most of the movie, nothing scary really happened, a common issue in FF. It may apply here too. I caught only one spooky instance before the final scenes. Despite this, it contributed well to the buildup for the ending. In hindsight, the lack of activity added to the final disposition.
All in all, I recommend it. The child actors were impressive, possibly the best I've seen for their ages. They never seemed like they were pretending or acting.

This is one of the worst horror movies ever..
I hate giving bad reviews, but this is honestly one of the most boring and bad written movies ever. The script is terrible. But the child actors are very good and natural. Given the very small crew and small budget I give you some credit - but still a terrible movie.
Don't watch. If you're in film it's interesting and of course it is a long life process of learning and bettering yourself. But I wouldn't watch it. Maybe next time make a lot more "underlining" with stuff they mean but don't say. Just a tip. The script is just so bad - but I think the children are really good!!

I like FF films because it feels real even though we know it's not. This movie didn't feel like it was paranormal, about a haunted house that starts to affect the mother or anything like that. If that's what they were going for, they missed.
There's moments where the mom is looking off as if she sees or hears things but we never see or hear anything. She just basically talks to herself a lot. What's disturbing is the kids. They cast kids who were too little and I felt like I was watching a woman abusing her children.
There's heartbreaking moments where the kids are crying, especially the little boy. Anyone with kids or who spends a lot of time with kids knows their cries. These cries were genuine fear and that really bothered me.
I don't know if they tried to intentionally scare these kids while making this movie to get a more genuine reaction but it was real and heart wrenching.
Nothing about it felt right and I truly felt like I was originally watching a woman who was losing her mind that turned into child abuse. It was hard to listen to their screams and cries because that fear was real and I didn't like it.
They should have used older kids who could fight back or changed the script. The fear was real in these little kids and you can hear it. It was just really disturbing.

LIFE OF BELLE is found footage horror film in which most of the footage is evidently shot by a young girl (I would say about 5-6 years old) which already is somewhat of a daring proposition. Fortunately, the children in this movie are very natural in most scenes, and this dramatically helps us stay in it. As the main cast and director all have the same last name, I suppose this is a family project, and this may have made it easier for the child actors to act naturally.
The movie's title comes from a Youtube show the girl wants to put together after her parents gift her a camera. Unwittingly, the camera ends up capturing the gradual but relentless mental decline of Belle's mother, apparently because she seems to suffer from some kind of dissociative disorder and refuses to take her medication when her husband has to go away on a business trip.
It helps the movie in setting up the horror to come that both Belle and her brother Linc are adorable. Most of the playing time is spent on showing us ordinary family scenes as they occur in any family with small children, except that they are interspersed with alarming moments of the mother's increasingly eerie and frightening behavior. Still, the increase in discomfort right up to the climax is very gradual, which makes for a very slow burn.
Unfortunately, the movie shows us right at the outset where all this leads to, thereby robbing us of the hope that everything will still turn out well. I honestly don't understand why so many found footage give most of the ending away right at the beginning; it is an editing or directorial choice I strongly disagree with.
Still, when the movie got to the last few minutes, I imagined how what I was being shown seemed so realistic that there probably were actual children with mentally ill and dangerous parents who had to face similar life situations, and it was this thought-such a fate of hapless real-life children as seen through their eyes- that struck me as deeply disturbing.
It was then all the more disappointing to see that the movie made a supernatural turn at the last moment. The horror of having your own loving mother pose a mortal threat to you as a little child is so great that I don't think anything supernatural can top it. This just came off as a cheap, cheesy and unnecessary.
So, all in all, the movie is very good at what it intends to do, and my only criticism is with the revealing beginning and the unnecessary coda. I suspect viewers with small children will be especially affected by this.

I went into this film with a bit of scepticism. However, I have to say I came out really impressed. I'm not one who reviews a lot of movies, but I thought I'd like to add my thoughts to this one, as it was likely to get washed away with average reviews.
First of all, I have to agree with some previous reviewers and say the acting is not great. Apart from Belle and her mother, the other actors are a bit "clunky", but this is a minor quibble.
Overall, this is a superb piece of drama on a small budget. Don't expect big jump scares. It slowly builds the terror and the viewer is left thinking "What the Hell is going on?" A small clue happens along the way, in a blink and you've missed it way. I will say no more. Suffice it to say, you know it's going to be a paranormal drama. Now, how does it pan out?
The dread builds slowly, though from the start, you know things aren't going to end well. A mix of Paranormal Activity, Blair Witch Project and Lake Mungo, it works well. A superb horror flick. I loved it and will definitely watch again, having had a feeling I might have missed some clues along the way.

As a parent, this film took me to a place that was unimaginably uncomfortable beyond all comprehension. The film itself had an incredibly good production value feel to it for something that was made with no budget. The kids were the real star of the show, the acting was amazing and my goodness was the mother incredibly freaky. Never again will I talk to a camera while on my bed!! I would easily put this film up there with exists and as above so below. I genuinely look forward to what this producer has next in the pipeline.....you 100% have a fan here. My partner although not a fan of ff films, quite comprehensibly said this film was amazing, your onto a winner here.
I've seen many horror films over the years and many found footage horror films. This one, without revealing too much, gave me literal chills at the end and made me scream somewhere in the middle. Low budget or not, this film captured every terrifying feeling of not knowing who exactly you're living with on that particular day. And especially captured the fright of pure innocence not understanding what is happening with the adults in the room. The acting is not Oscar worthy but I don't think that's what the family who made this movie were going for. Something as simple as a little girl wanting to create her own YouTube channel can accidentally hone in on the destruction of the entire family dynamic.

Some of the best DIY Filmmaking using Found Footage I've seen in a long while. The use of the single setting and actual family was clever. The kids acting was VERY good. The little girl can handle a camera better than some pros I've worked with. The story was actually scary. Some of the blink and you miss it effects were quite good.
This is a perfect example of the up and coming DIY Filmmaking genre that I love to see. Some guy has a camera and knows a talented family and they write a story and film it and bang you've got a movie. Technology allows the average guy to make a film and get it out there to the people with out the fricken studios getting in the way.
Well done!

I don't write reviews often, but I was impressed with how disturbing this movie was. It filled me with angst-that lump in the back of your throat feeling. Syrenne Robinson plays the main character, Belle who pulled at my heart strings, with her love for her brother and her entire family. I later looked her up on IMDB to find that this is her first movie (along with most of the cast)..again, impressive. The movie explores mental health issues and the reality of what some kids and families deal with on a daily basis. The found footage is mostly from the perspective of the young girl, Belle and how children try to cope in difficult situations.

Outstanding horror film... terrifying and one I will never forget, absolutely loved it 100%
Well done to the Robinson family - keep at it we'd love to see more!. Excellent acting from all four family members.
The film contained all the elements we were looking for in a truly scary movie, suspense, scares and a solid ending - very sadly missing In most horror movies these days.
Your little girl must be as traumatised as me and my wife... and your boy was so funny... we will be recommending the movie to all our friends and as I say those scares will take a long while to get over.
Love to you all and well done.
