The plot is taken from the fairytale, added with a blender of revenge, violence, and bloody scenes.
The pace is slow in the first half, and it goes fast in the second.
It's another meaningless kind of "Winnie the Pooh" movie, filled with violent scenes, killing like nobody's business!! I wonder why out of nowhere, there came so many script writers who tried so hard to make nice cartoon characters into horrible ones?! Running out of ideas for better horror movies?
Can you imagine how Cinderella kills? Using her "Glass high-heel", which is NOT SHARP at all, yet kill like a sharp knife + stab like a hammer (especially on one's head and chest)! Come on, give me a break!
The entire movie shows a bunch of CRAZY LADIES shouting, killing, fighting, torturing, screaming, and slaughtering with "satisfaction"... from the beginning to the end!
The killing scenes and visual effects are so off and low-budget..!! None of them look good or impressive! It's very much like a movie production by a newbie director or a Grade C or D movie's director. Gosh.. it's an INSULT to my eyes!!!!
Also, the power of Cinderella is so inconsistent and weird! She can easily 'bomb' a wooden carriage with her "Iron-Man" palm!! My eyes roll to the space!! Please... Stop fooling my brain!!!
It's a very empty movie, just being violent for the sake of violence!

The scariest thing was the botox filled lips and faces of the actresses.
Was it set in modern times because you could see electric light switches on all the walls plus plug sockets in the skirting boards and in one scene there was a home security keypad on the wall next to a white wall mounted telephone.
Some rooms were candlelit while others had electric table lamps.
The whole thing was just a messy shambles that made no sense whatsoever.
But I have to reiterate, were the faces of the leading ladies their own or did they deliberately have loads of lip fillers etc before filming to make them look so hideous?

Apparently the makers of this production meant to come up with an original and (very!) unconventional approach to the well-known Cinderella fairytale: turning it into a supernatural slasher-/horror story. Now these old fairytales originally weren't as sweet and Disney'ish as the 20th century has re-invented them, but here they really went totally overboard: this version is nothing but one big blood-soaked gore-pandemonium! It's a Cinderella drowning in a hotchpotch of Hellraiser, Wishmaster and Evil Dead, all in one.
Even in the introductory scenes the violence of the terrifying stepmother and her evil daughters is of Saw-like proportions. But when, after the pivotal ball at the palace, Cinderella shifts into her revenge-mode, all fuses are blown and a hysterical killing-spree starts among all the guests, turning the party into a chaotic frenzy of screaming victims who are stabbed, amputated, torn to shreds and devoured one by one by Cinderella-turned-demon and her Cenobite-like helpers, amidst never ceasing fountains of blood. The VFX- and make-up people probably have had a real ball, but at home I watched in disbelief.
Okay, the acting was reasonable, Kelly Rian Sanson is pretty, Danielle Scott makes a fearsome stepmother, and sleek prince Sam Barrett was at least allowed to show some impressive skin. But that was all. Maybe, just maybe, it could have worked, when they had made it into some kind of comedy, but alas, not one laugh to lighten up the day. What remained is the overblown result of a writer's crazy fantasy, executed on steroids.

The movie is so bad, the make up looks great but other then that... the special effects are terrible for a movie from 2024.. the acting is not convincing enough and overall it's just way to much blood. I was hoping for suspense but I cringed more.
I really wished this was a better movie but I guess you're better off finding another horror if that's what ur into! Cinderellas curse is nothing I wished it would be. It's all over the place and the storyline is very weak! I hate bashing on a movie so much cause I'm sure they all worked hard to make it but it just didn't pay off whatsoever! But again props to the make up team!

Absolute waste of time.
Terrible storyline, terrible casting, poor production, poor acting. Cinderella should be young and the actress hired is aging poorly.
No plot spoilers here because theres nothing I can say that would spoil it as there's no story to tell.
The movie is as good as a poorly rehearsed school production. Unnecessarily gory. Not remotely scary. Feels like a rubbish comedy. I actually can't believe this was released in cinemas and then more so that I paid to waste my time.
I should have read the reviews here because the majority are pretty accurate in regards to how terrible this movie actually is.

I don't know who wrote the synopsis of this film, they are seriously wrong. This movie isn't even in the ball park. It has nothing at all to do with Cinderella, it's basically a story about how a grimoire is misused and curses a family. It's closer to a slasher version of Hocus Pocus, or about the 3 witches in Macbeth. It has nothing to do with Cinderella. The original Brothers Grimm story is taken from Goth (original German) folklore, and Walt Disney was Irish, German, Canadian and English. Disney sanitised ALL of his stories, which were 90% taken from the Brothers Grimm. None of these stories had happy endings, they were warnings. The original Cinderella story had the step - sisters eyes plucked out by the birds that helped Cinderella so they were condemned to go blind for the rest of their days because of their wickedness and falsehood. What Disney did would today be referred to cultural misappropriation, however, he did put Brothers Grimm on the map. It would be great if all the Grimm stories, which are all very bloody, were told properly.

Of course I am familiar with the classic fairy tale, upon which this 2024 is loosely based, and I must admit that it was with a certain amount of skepticism when I sat down to watch what director Louisa Warren had to deliver with thee 2024 movie "Cinderella's Curse". But with it being movie that I hadn't already seen, and a horror take on the fairy tale, of course I opted to check out the movie.
Writer Harry Boxley was very liberal in his dismemberment of Charles Perrault's original "Cinderella" fairy tale. Sure, there were similarities, but the script was very loosely based on the original work. With that being said, don't get me wrong, because I am not saying that it was all bad. The script actually proved to be entertaining, surprisingly enough, taking into consideration the premise of the script. It was as if writer Harry Boxley decided to make an unholy union between the original "Cinderella" fairy tale and the "Carrie" movie from 1976.
The random flashes of horrors yet to come that was used in abundance ultimately grew annoying, because director Louisa Warren overdid it. They were too numerous and too frequent, disrupting the narrative more than it furthered the narrative.
I was only familiar with Chrissie Wunna and Danielle Scott on the cast list. Yeah, I've seen my share of low budget horror movies to be familiar with those two. It should be noted, however, that the acting performances in the movie were actually fair.
The special effects in the movie were surprisingly good. And I have to say that I was somewhat surprised at the level of visceral mayhem and gore that was displayed throughout the course of the movie. It was something that most definitely helped adding to the overall enjoyment of the movie.
My rating of Louisa Warren's interpretation of the classic fairy tale in the form of "Cinderella's Curse" lands on a four out of ten stars.

I wasn't prepared for that! I expected gritty, but this was beyond! It's a wonderful horror take on Cinderella. The practical effects were a little wonky. The writing was a little messy. The CGI was decent. The acting was really good. The cinematography was on point. The music was perfect. It was a top notch B movie horror. Almost an A. I loved it! It seemed like this movie ended up being better quality than it ought to have been. I loved the original take on a story that's been done to death. Very gratifying. Very fun. I recommend it. I hope to see more fairy tales gone insane like this one!!

Cinderella's Curse is a bold reimagining of the classic fairy tale, taking a darker and more twisted approach than Disney's 1950 version. Directed by Louisa Warren, this film dives into the horror genre, offering a fresh yet chilling perspective on the beloved story.
The plot follows Cinderella, played by Kelly Rian Sanson, who discovers an ancient book that summons a vengeful fairy godmother. This twist transforms the tale from a simple rags-to-riches story into a gripping narrative of revenge and dark magic. The film's atmosphere is eerie and intense, with stunning visuals that bring the sinister elements to life. While the movie excels in creating a haunting ambiance and delivering unexpected plot twists, it falls short in character development and pacing. Some scenes feel rushed because it is a 78 minute runtime so that js probably why, and the characters, especially the evil (karen) stepmother and stepsisters, lack depth
However, the performances, particularly by Chrissie Wunna as the fairy godmother, are commendable and add a layer of intrigue to the film. Cinderella's Curse is a decent watch for those who enjoy horror and fantasy genres. It may not reach the timeless charm of Disney's 1950 classic, but it certainly offers a unique and thrilling experience that stands out in its own right. If you're in the mood for a dark twist on a familiar story, this film is worth a watch.

This was nothing but a low rent Carrie remake with a hint of the Cinderella fairy tale thrown in. There really isn't anything good I can say about this. I only gave it a two because it killed an hour on a Saturday night. Not bad if you want to make a drinking game out of finding all the continuity errors.
Every one of the characters and the actors were annoying. The "effects," what there were of them, couldn't have been worse if they were hand drawn and animated by a three year old with a crayon. The flashbacks were annoying and made no sense whatsoever. The opening sequence had zero bearing on the rest of the movie at all.
Oh good.... Minimum character limit met. Thank God, because I could not talk about this trainwreck any longer.

A few people are complaining about the blood and gore in the movie, but honestly, I do not mind that. I love blood and gore. My problem was that they stitched Hellraiser, Carrie, and Cinderella all in a big mess of a movie. The special effects were bad, but I have seen much worse, and the script was cheesy and very cliché. It's not even a good bad movie like Hob Goblins or any kind of Neal Breen movie, it's just bad bad. I am sure the creator of this movie had great intentions and I think a horror/fairy tale is awesome, but this was not it at all, it could have been better, it had the potential to be great.

Oh for the love of god this is the worst movie of 2024 i have ever seen not only the idea of Cinderella getting a horror movie is terrible but this movie is just like Winnie The Pooh Blood and Honey and The Mean One all over again the twisted childhood universe feels like knock off to the Avengers but done worse whatever you do stick with the original movie and the 2015 live action remake over that piece of donkey garbage that nobody asked for Cinderella's Curse more like Cinderella's useless horror garbage movie never watched that movie and i'll never will or else it would be a waste of time.

I have no idea of what I have been watching. Was it a remake of 'Carrie', 'Winnie the Pooh' and 'Cinderella' that were put in the blender and they went with whatever came out of it? While this could have been so much more. The concept has potential but nobody knew how to use it. Despite of "all the violence" and blood shedding there is no suspence. The story is slow, I never had that creepy feeling when watching a horror movie, on the contrary at times I was just bored.
They didn't shy away of copy paste when the script was written. The only thing that was somewhat not predictable and that I liked, was the ending.

I stopped watching this movie just after 25 or 30 min. Such a terrible movie.
This movie describes that living human beings are more evil than ghost. How bad those two evil sister harm their servant.
I stopped movie after that scene. Such a awful and terrible baddest of bad & worst movie ever.
Whoever is the writer and director, you guys have no mind and feelings. Of you can't think anything good then atleast do not promote evil behavior and personality.
Conjuring & the nun is way better than this. Government should banned movies like Cinderella's curse and other. They should suspend this movie immediately. 🚫

Starring a bunch of nobodies really and a lead actress (Kelly Rian Sanson) who can't act for the life of her, Cinderella's Curse is nothing but utter trash, and belongs in the gutter. The movie really has no story here, from the moment the movie started I had a lot of questions that were never answered. The movie primarily focuses on how Cinderella is viciously tormented by her stepsisters and her stepmother and then wants very violent and gory revenge after being humiliated and embarrassed at the ball after the prince invites her to go to earlier. In this horror movie Cinderella is surrounded by demons the whole time and it seems like she has major PTSD, and once again just like other Disney or family movies that independent British filmmakers turn into horror movies they don't bother explaining anything, they just slap together a quick movie script and rush into production very fast to get everything shot and over with so they can capitalize on the title and screw the majority of the everyday moviegoers over. There's a lot of gore that does nothing but is in the movie for pure shock value reasons, and the dialogue is so terrible that everyone might as well turn on the subtitles for this movie at home, no one wants to hear these nobodies delivering their cringeworthy lines and Kelly Rian Sanson is no exception either, she delivers a line at the very end of the movie that literally made me think about writing into the streaming service platforms that have this movie on their platforms and tell them to remove it. I'm definitely not kidding here. The special effects do nothing, because they're super weak and since there's no story the special effects serve no purpose. Also the movie's director is Louisa Warren. Since I have yet to see her other films I can't talk about them in this review. Either she is very untalented as a film directed or she really sucked when she did this movie. Because this is not how a horror movie is supposed to be directed at all. Her directing for this film is off the charts terrible. Lastly the cinematography bothered me a lot it seemed like they tried to copy off of Rob Zombie's gritty filmmaking technique. Anyone who knows who Rob Zombie is knows who I'm talking about. His horror movies are way more bare able than this crock of crap right here. I'm begging everyone to stop supporting this trash. The more you support this kind of trash the more British filmmakers will make horror movies just like Cinderella's Curse. America is already being bombarded with garbage, so I'm begging to all of the regular movie fans out there, please, stop supporting trashy horror movies and support the good.

Really enjoyed watching this. Cinderella summons her fairy godmother from an ancient flesh-bound book, seeking revenge on her evil stepmother and stepsisters who abuse and torment her daily... & boy does she take revenge... In a Carrie style bloodbath!!!
The kills are varied & bloody, the effects, cgi & prosthetics are really good, and the characters are nasty, backstabbing & fun.
The cast are all excellent, particularly Kelly Rian Sanson who plays the lead. She really is the star of the show here... what a screamer!
There's a brilliant toe cutting scene (no spoiler, it's in the trailer) that really made me cringe.
Great movie. Def worth a watch. 👍

Honestly, for a B-movie this isn't that bad.
I love the take of the story. It's a dark and twisted Cinderella story.
The actrice playing Cinderella did a pretty good job. So did the stepsisters and stepmother.
De rest of the acting was pretty bad. More like watching a bad theatre.
It was so bad. It was good. I found this movie more of a cultfilm. So bad. You are laughing but also want to watch it. I am a sucker for revenge movies.
It's a weird mix between Disney-carrie and evil death.
With a decent budget, I really think this concept could be succesful. Maybe more then modern remake of a yet another Disney movie.
I do wish they hired a better make-up artist. I myself love Halloween and I had better costume and makeup skills then the makeup in this movie. And I'm not a professional. Some of the wounds where so horrible and unrealistic. Some scenes with a lot of blood where good.
I know there are better makeup artists that can do a pretty good job with a low budget. CGI is what you could expect from a B movie.
Decent B movie. Enjoyed it for what it is.

... it's just so poorly executed. I.e, the storytelling is s**t. It doesn't unfold in any good way. We're thrown into an action scene to start. It's a teaser. It shows us the kind of thing to expect in the rest of the movie. "This is what we're selling" the filmmakers are saying. All right. But then following that, instead of going into a proper beginning where everything is clearly set up, we meet the protagonist, we are given a reason to like them and root for them, etc, etc, we're just thrown into the middle of another bit of action, but it's just meaningless dramatics at this point because nothing has been set up. We're feeling nothing, nor could we be expected to because we know nothing yet about what's going on. The director's storytelling instincts just aren't there. Unfortunately this is a movie that starts off on the wrong foot and pretty much just hobbles along from there.
