Nothing else, but hats off to the Major, a legend #Mukund Varadarajan. A magnificent portrayal of love, bravery and sacrifice towards the peacefulness of our nation. I couldn't help myself, but to shed tears of both spectrum of human emotions at several instances. Masterclass filmmaking which made us forget that we are sitting in our seats and rather, witnessing the tale on live. Shiva's and Pallavi's role was simply the reflections of Mukund and Indhu. Thanks to the maker Rajkumar Periyaswamy and the producers for choosing and making an incident which instills on all of us about the hardships and the bravery of our Indian Army. JAI HIND!

Amaran is a really well-made emotional-action drama without turning it into massy flick.
The performer in Sivakarthikeyan, who played Major Mukund, comes out all guns blazing. Hats off to that.
Sai Pallavi, who played Indu, is a master of invoking emotions. Pure outburst of childlike happiness on seeing Mukund and his success. She is the lifeline of this film. The character is so well portrayed that it makes you yearn for a partner with such love, kindness, and emotions towards you.
The film succeeds in being as authentic and realistic as possible. Wish the film used subtitles instead of language translation for non Tamil dialogues at all places instead of just few.

An inspiring true story with you - the bravery of Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Indian Army officer who showed incredible valor during a counterterrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his heroism. And guess what? His story was brought to life in a movie that's a must-watch! "Hey Film Squads! This movie is perfect for Diwali, to both family audiences and SK fans. It's Sivakarthikeyan's 'Thuppakki' version, blending love and action. Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi shine as Mukund Varadarajan and Indu, with lovely and cute chemistry. The first half offers a mix of love and action, while the second half transforms into a full-on action-emotional ride. G. V. Prakash's music and OST were outstanding, and the sound FX team done well , immersing us in a war-like atmosphere. Although the climax may not acceptable to everyone, this movie holds a special place in our hearts. Watch it with your family and friends - highly recommended!"

"Amaran" is a poignant tribute to the unsung heroes of our country's armed forces. When a real-life hero's story is told, it's often more unbelievable and awe-inspiring than fictional ones. This film is a memoir of Maj. Mukund Varadarajan, a martyr whose love story with his fiancée, beautifully portrayed by Sai Pallavi, is heart-wrenching. Her emotional depth and sincerity are phenomenal, making the audience feel the pain and guilt from the start. Sivakarthikeyan shines as the charismatic Maj. Mukund, bringing his story to life with relatable patriotism, love, and revenge. The film humanizes the heroes of our forces, making it a must-watch for kids and a fantastic tribute to the brave men and women who serve our country. Jai Hind🇮🇳
A visually stunning and engaging movie that revives the patriotism and love for the nation.
The story reflects the life of the martyred soldier Major Mukund Varadarajan. Rajkumar Periasamy has brought in to light the reel life of the hero exceptionally well.
Rajkumar has penned the script fruitfully incorporating umpteen family moments onto the story unlike other military movies that can be well related by families with defense personnels.
The film brilliantly portrays the true selfless spirit of a soldier and humanitarian values that Major Mukund upholded throughout his life. The soulful and refreshing BGM's by G V Prakash has uplifted the movie giving a delectable experience to the viewers.
Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi has given an unmatched performance as the power couples. Impressive performances by Shyamaprasad,Rahul Bose,Geetha Kailasam,Bhuvan Arora,Mir Salman,Shyam Mohan & Paul T Baby.
Kudos to R Kalaivanan for giving an engaging movie onto screen with splendid shots on and off the battlefield by Sai and perfect art works of the battlefield & regiment by Rajeevan & team.

Growing up in Chennai, South India, I was naturally surrounded by a dedicated movie culture and a passionate fan base. As I got older, I found myself preferring series over movies, as they often capture deeper emotions through multiple seasons. I have watched several North Indian films, such as "Shershaah," "Sita Ramam," and "Mission Majnu." While these films tell the stories of different warriors, they often share similar endings. I still struggle to understand how Indian soldiers are willing to risk their lives to protect us, the citizens of India.
When I learned about a movie being made as a tribute to Indian soldier Major Mukund, I found myself eagerly anticipating its release. The star-studded cast, featuring renowned actor Sivakarthikeyan and actress Sai Pallavi, heightened my excitement. Their performances made me reflect on the brevity of life and the unfairness that some people face. I was moved by the story of Major Mukund and his inspiration to become a soldier. Despite having a family, he never once considered backing down.
As a nation, we should be incredibly thankful for those soldiers who work tirelessly to protect us. I believe school textbooks should focus more on stories like this, as not every soldier gets the chance to have their life depicted in a film.
Now, regarding another warrior, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, played by Sai Pallavi, I found the narration of her character, enhanced by a touch of Malayalam and her beautiful voice, to be incredibly impactful. She's such a sweetheart. Whenever I saw her crying helplessly, I felt an urge to reach out and give her a hug. She consistently supported her partner's career and ambitions and portrayed roles as a loving daughter, supportive partner, dutiful daughter-in-law, and brave mother.
I'm grateful that this story was made into a movie, and I hope she holds it close to her heart. The scene where Indhu learns about Mukund's demise shattered my heart. The way she controlled her emotions and didn't shed a single tear during his funeral was so poignant, especially because he had always told her not to cry in front of others if anything ever happened to him on the battlefield. I got goosebumps seeing the original clips of Major Mukund with his sweet daughter and their loving family.
I'm glad to know that Indhu is living her life as a teacher in Australia. I truly hope that in their next life, they can be together for a longer time. The audience in the theater stayed until the very end, and when the film concluded, there was a thunderous applause that gave me goosebumps. My deepest respect goes to all the Indian soldiers out there. Major Mukund may not be with us, but will continue to live in all of our memories . All hail- Amaran- The Immortal.

The soul of the film, for me, is the relationship drama between Mukund and Indhu. That's where both Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi score bigtime, because the writing is sensitive and properly fleshed out. GV Prakash Kumar's songs and score also add immensely to these portions, making us care for these people and their families. The war-action bits, on the other hand, need to be seen through a different lens. Yes, I appreciate the staging and the execution overall, but it offers a very binary outlook at the situation which has been the case with most Indian war films. It barely humanizes people in the state of Kashmir, and most of them serve as plot-forwarding devices. Ultimately, I don't think the film will be remembered for its action; it stands for 3 things: a) As a tribute to the real Major Mukund, b) Sivakarthikeyan's ascent to the big leagues, c) Sai Pallavi's candid, moving performance.

With all due respect to the real-life individual portrayed, the climax of the movie was truly remarkable and effectively conveyed its emotions, with Sai Pallavi delivering an outstanding performance in that segment. However, aside from the climax, the rest of the movie fell short of expectations. While the mother's character was well-defined from the very first scene, Sai Pallavi's character-despite being portrayed as coming from a well-reputed family-seemed unrealistically naive, as if she had no understanding of the world. Her acting and dialogue delivery were subpar, making it difficult to connect with the character. Additionally, Shyama prasad's portrayal felt overly childish, which is disappointing considering his reputation as a great filmmaker. The movie, unfortunately, failed to live up to its potential overall, except for the well-executed climax.

This movie is the best illustration of why we are able to enjoy our life's to any extend because of people like Mukund and all his family members. A true tribute to a real life national hero and our army.
Movie was well made. Realistic and emotional. Great music. Not many movies makes you want to continue to think about the experience after the film is over. This movie will live in our thoguhts long after you watch it. This will be one of my top 5 ever until now of all the movies I have watched.
Pros: acting, action, true to the life events, emotional connect, bravado depiction, realism, music, direction, camera work and the beautiful Jammu and Kashmir.
Con's: sometimes I felt Siva and Sai Palani looked a yard old during the romantic scenes during the intial few minutes of the movie. But yiu quickly forget this and get imersed into the experience.

I just decided to watch this now. I didn't have much expectations but since it was a Biopic and the true story about Major Mukund V. Decided to go check it out. But my god what a emotional roller coaster this was. Such a awesome performance by Sivakarthikeyen and Sai Pallavi. I feel a bit in shock about life and death after watching this movie thinking about soldiers personal life and sacrifices they fave in the battlefield and during war. This has been one awesome depiction and tribute to what happen 10 years ago to Major Mukund V. And leading to that period, about of love and sacrifice about life and death... Those we leave behind. Such a emotional family drama war movie. Love it.

The direction, the acting, the music... its like everything thats perfect fell into a single work of a film. The story was so touching... the officer's story was one of a kind and it left me speechless. More than an army film, this is such a slice of life film...!

After years of countless films, "Amaran" stands out as a deeply emotional masterpiece. Siva Karthikeyan and Sai Pallavi's chemistry is extraordinary, bringing raw authenticity to their roles. This love story is enchanting yet genuine, capturing every emotion with skill. The climax, where Sai Pallavi controls her tears after Major Mukund's death, struck a deep chord. The film honors the sacrifices of army families, with a powerful scene where she calls him, unaware of the unfolding attack. This is a must-watch story of love, army life, ambitious soul, sacrifice, and patriotism that leaves a lasting impact.

This movie, about the life and sacrifice of Major Mukund Varadarajan, is one of the most inspiring stories I have ever seen. It's not just a film; it's a tribute to all brave Jawans who fight to protect their country. Watching it makes you feel deeply grateful for these heroes and their families, who give up so much for all of us to live in peace.
The story sends a powerful message: we all have a limited time on this earth, so why spend it in hate and violence? If those who cause war could see this, they might choose peace over conflict, understanding that life is meant to be lived, not taken from others. This movie is a call for everyone to choose harmony over war and to realize that the real bravery lies in protecting peace, not in creating violence.
The casting is perfect, and each character feels real and true to life. The screenplay is moving and filled with emotion-patriotism, love, and sacrifice shine through in every scene. You can feel the devotion of Major Mukund's family, especially his brave wife and parents, who supported his calling. Their strength and love stay with you, reminding us of the incredible people behind every soldier.
This story isn't just about one hero; it's about all the Jawans who serve quietly and courageously. Major Mukund's story is one of many, and this film beautifully honors his legacy while giving a voice to countless unsung heroes.
To the entire movie crew and to Major Mukund Varadarajan, I offer my deepest respect. This movie is a must-watch, not just for its powerful story but for the emotional message it leaves: let's live in peace and cherish life, not destroy it.

* Amaran Tamil Movie Review *
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy starring Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi in the lead role. Also starring Bhuvan Arora & Rahul Bose.
ONE LINE REVIEW: Another Inspiring Story of a Real Hero.
The story is being narrated by Mrs. Indu Mukund wife of Martyr Major Mukund Varadarajan. A story of a courageous man whose story will always a motivation to face the problems in our life without fear.
Writer Director Rajkumar, able to get into the emotions of the audience. A proper blend of emotion plus the insight of a military officer life had been able to witness. As it is the life history of Major Mukund, the film maker might have taken some liberty for cinematic experience but while watching, there was no such kind of feel being sensed as especially the romantic angle of Mukund & Indu had been beautifully portrayed. The chemistry between them had been worked out very well.
Coming towards the performance, Sivakarthikeyan had taken a deep breathe of the character that we could not think of a better choice. The transition of Mukund's journey thereby change in his character, am not able to see Sivakarthikeyan enacting, it's the Mukund who is portraying himself his role at the big screen.
Sai Pallavi as Indu Mukund, fantastic performance from her. A particular scene when she is mid of talk with Mukund & suddenly, she hears the blast and then call is broken. She could able to hear the sound, she could sense the danger of her life & the pain she carries till she hears back the sound of her life & then the burst of her emotion, that sequence was touched thereby seeing the magic in her performance.
Coming to the technical aspect, cinematography was good. Even the terrains of Kashmir had been beautifully captured. Action sequences were well choreographed. GV Prakash music perfectly blend with the storyline. BGM during interval & the farewell song at the climax brought tears.
Overall a Amaran a watchable flick at the big screen thereby giving a reminder to Salute the Real Heros of our Nation.

- 'Amaran' directed by Rajkumar Periaswamy starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi is a well - made biopic in honour of Major Mukund Varadarajan. The performances from the cast is the main highlight of the film especially Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. Sivakarthikeyan was just brillaint as Major Mukund and it is his career best performance till date. Sai Pallavi was also great in her role as Indu Rebecca Varghese , even though her performance in the beginning during the college years was kind of average and her malayalam accent didn't really help at all but after that she was superb. Really great performance by her. Also all members of the cast has done a great job , Rahul Bose , Bhuvan Arora , Geetha Kailasam , Shyamaprasad etc. Another thing that I loved about the film is the action scenes especially during the pre - interval block and the climax , they were executed really well. Loved the camera work during those scenes. Overall, I really liked the film and watching it in a packed theatre was a good experience because it does have some patriotic mass elements to it. It's a good watch.

"Amaran," the Tamil biographical action-war film, is an awe-inspiring depiction of Major Mukund Varadarajan's story-a courageous officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment. This film captures his valiant service and ultimate sacrifice in a way that brings honor to his memory and allows viewers to experience a slice of the reality faced by the Indian armed forces. Major Mukund, who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra, India's highest peacetime military award for valor, played a vital role during a counterterrorism operation while on deputation to the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Jammu and Kashmir. The film vividly brings to life his bravery and the strength required to defend our nation in one of the most challenging landscapes in the world.
The storytelling is a standout feature of "Amaran," with the narration seamlessly weaving real incidents into a powerful, cohesive storyline. There's a palpable sense of authenticity throughout the film, from the tense moments of confrontation with terrorists to the quieter, emotional scenes that bring depth to Major Mukund's character. The screenplay stays true to the events, creating an atmosphere that feels as if you're right beside him, sharing in both his triumphs and sacrifices. This approach to storytelling makes the film resonate deeply, reminding us of the unyielding commitment of our soldiers.
Sai Pallavi's performance in the role of Major Mukund's wife is absolutely stellar. Known for her natural, expressive acting style, she brings immense emotion and realism to her character. Her portrayal of a woman caught between personal fear and pride for her husband's service is deeply moving. Sai Pallavi's minimal makeup and understated look only enhance her performance, allowing her expressions to communicate her character's depth and struggle. In the climax, her portrayal reaches new heights, capturing the audience's emotions with raw intensity. This performance is a testament to her acting prowess, proving her ability to completely embody a role and bring it to life with authenticity.
Shivakarthikeyan, cast as Major Mukund, also does a fantastic job. He successfully portrays the grit and determination of a soldier, as well as the vulnerability of a man devoted to his family. His performance is both convincing and poignant, depicting the inner strength of a soldier who faces life-threatening situations with courage and resilience. Shivakarthikeyan's ability to portray the emotional side of Major Mukund, especially in scenes showing his connection with his family, adds another layer to his character, making him relatable and human. His portrayal inspires viewers to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who serve in the armed forces.
One of the most touching aspects of "Amaran" is how it honors the sacrifices of army families. Major Mukund's story is not just about his heroism but also about the struggles and resilience of his family, who stood by him and continued to support his calling. This perspective adds emotional depth to the film, making it a well-rounded story that celebrates not just an individual but also the collective sacrifice of military families.
The film's cinematography deserves special mention. The battle scenes are intense, with camera angles that capture the chaos of conflict while maintaining a sense of realism. The scenic yet treacherous terrain of Jammu and Kashmir is brought to life, underscoring the challenges faced by soldiers operating in such hostile conditions. The visual storytelling enhances the film's emotional impact, making it an immersive experience.
Another important aspect of "Amaran" is its ability to inspire audiences, including younger viewers. Watching the film with my two kids, I could see how deeply they were moved by Major Mukund's bravery. The film sparked a desire in them to join the armed forces, highlighting the power of cinema to influence and motivate the next generation. It was heartening to see them express a sense of admiration for the Indian Army and a wish to serve their country.
"Amaran" is not just a war film; it's a family-friendly movie that holds universal appeal. Its message is clear and profound, serving as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our soldiers and their families. Watching it with loved ones only enhances the experience, as it provides an opportunity to discuss themes of courage, duty, and patriotism. In an era when films are often designed for entertainment, "Amaran" stands out as a meaningful and respectful portrayal of true heroism.
In summary, "Amaran" is a film that everyone should watch at least once. It's an emotional, powerful tribute to a national hero and an educational experience for those unaware of the risks taken by our soldiers daily. Sai Pallavi and Shivakarthikeyan's performances elevate the film, and the storyline remains faithful to Major Mukund's journey. For those seeking inspiration and a deeper understanding of a soldier's life, this film is a must-see. Watch it with family and friends to appreciate the story of a man whose courage and sacrifice serve as a reminder of the values that define true heroism.

First half was very good in all aspects. Especially romance scenes felt fresh.
The problem with the movie is second half. I thought the second half will be action oriented and show more of military life and sacrifice. I was disappointed. Love scenes in second half felt unnecessary. After the movie I felt sad for Indu mam more than Mukund sir.
The sacrifice made by Mukund sir wasn't given priority when making the movie. It was overshadowed by romance scenes. Mukund sir's love life was well written and portrayed. The same has not been given for military life.
We felt nothing when he kills terrorists. Twists were easy to predict when catching terrorists.
