First I have to say that this series was great and can't wait for season 2.
I know there are truths, fiction and fabrications in this series.
But we see how people can judge a daughter or son for their parent's or grandparent's misfortunes is not right. Neither when Crown Prince Wilhelm-Alexander (Now King Wilhelm-Alexander) was to get engaged to Máxima Zorreguieta (Now Queen Máxima), nor or in the history of ordinary people and royalty.
We get an insight into how things can turn out for people who may have problems with public opinion.
Delfina Chaves did a great role in this series as Máxima Zorreguieta, and look forward to seeing her portrayal of Máxima Zorreguieta in season 2. There I hope we will see the wedding, and where she became Crown Princess.
Martijn Lakemeier also played a good role as Crown Prince Wilhelm-Alexander, he brought out the thoughtful Wilhelm-Alexander, which we so often see in public.
Elsie de Brauw performed the role of Queen Beatrix (Now Princess Beatrix after she abdicated the throne to Wilhelm-Alexander in 2013). She also brought out the Queen Beatrix that we know in public (although it came out in a private context in this series), caring and loving towards her people (the public) as in private.
Thank you for making a story/serie about the King and Queen of the Netherlands.

Firstly, I am really proud to see so many argentinian actors taking part of this. As an argentine, I wanted to know a bit more about her backgrounds, how she grew up and how she got to know Alex.
I feel like during the show the portrayal of Maxima wasnt as exact as I expected it. She was more of a party animal and not as responsible as Maxima was. So that was a bit of a let down for me. The prince was pretty okay, so nothing else to add about it.
I really loved the locations. Some episode were fun to watch, and some a bit dull. So if there is a slight chance of a second season they need to fix that in order to make it more enjoyable and being a bit more loyal to the real story behind it.

... putting a very pretty face in-on a rom-com-drama about this exceptionally dark time in this South American country dubious for sure... making-nice-nice about their love affair and early history together is lots of the series storyline... what her family was during this period are just well-off individuals ignoring the harsh reality at the core of their privileged lives
... for Delfina Chavez it's a star-turn, and she makes entirely most of it... something really special, there are many very attractive women having many-different-'looks'... she's one of 'em, and she's got a thousand... just do a search and you'll see, and they're all-very-attractive.. only twenty-eight years old, already she's had numerous TV series appearances-movies
... this year alone, she's been in two highly popular productions.. Maxima, and the Happy-6 ... more-most interesting scenes in both productions are those including her, she's a true, star-power-find... productions made better when she's part (even when dopey, like the latter)... wither or not either-both these series go on to additional seasons irrelevant... now being discovered, there's gonna be lots other works to watch-enjoy her talent-charms for many years.

The story is there, An argentine with a fantastic curriculum, a nice family with many connections in Argentina and on top of it she is very good looking. The production is there, quality actors, great setting and filmmaking but the writing is just awful its naive and child like jokes, the dialogues are very dumb. It has a certain charm to it all. If only for the players But nothing clicks a real compelling interest in their lives. Let's hope it gets more entertaining but maybe their story is just that boring. It has very little thrill. It's politics are very safe, it truly is a fairytale for the ordinary.
Just watched the first two epiodes and I am impressed with the cinematography and acting. The palpable love story really translates well on screen, mainly due to the chemistry between the two lead actors. Sebastian Koch also stands out to me, he's charming without drawing a caricature of the late Prince Claus.
One thing that does bug me is how we see Máxima horse riding in the Pampas and getting shooting lessons from her dad back in 1976. The real Máxima was only five years old at the time so I doubt these were her regular weekend activitites at that age. I also think she was much more shielded from politics in 1978, when she was only seven. The idea of the dual timeline (childhood vis a vis late twenties) is interesting but its sloppy excecution is distracting from the storytelling.

- WissenswertesThe palace used in the first and fifth episode, looks like "Huis ten Bosch" where the royals lived in that era. The building is actually "Slot Zeist" that building used to house members of the dynasty Nassau as well. The building today is an event location for rent.
