The little prince was in every household, therefore the story of the author was expected with excitement. The story is about the period with his childhood friend Gillaumet and them working for the postal service between Argentina and Chile. So far so good. They are childhood friends and same age. Now here is the problem, when they got older the age difference is nearly 20 years.

So here is my criticism. Why do they take Cassal Age 57 to play a 29 year old? Saint Ex should be 30, played by a 41 year old still ok. Diane Krueger chosen to fit Cassal's Age.

Does the french movie industry not have young actors? So the choice of actors, although good actors was bad.

The images were great, but the scenes on the plane not realistic!

Although it's called a historical drama, it is still a story, a drama, and it revolves around several days of Exupéry life... But there is no way that I can call this only as a dry narrative of some important events.

The point is that this movie seems to have been written by Exupéry. You are watching it, and it seems like his book, with his style of presentation, riddles and light, with barely noticeable double meanings.

I could say, here Ex shown as man that has soul of child, smartness as a PhD person, cunning enough, but in a good way, with a drop of fabulousness and fantastic meanings in his promises

And it is a good movie. I think Antoine de Saint-Exupéry might have liked it.

I love the movie. I have been a fan of Saint Exupery since I was around 9 years old. He gets back to me every 7 to 8 years. This is the third stage of my life when he "visited", I feel is when I mostly needed him in a grown way. Visually this film looked very pleasing, I find it beautiful how sounds of certain objects like a train for an example, fits into music that is playing at that moment. The beauty of Exupery's story, his courage and ability to see life through a different angle is truly inspiring. Great actors. I think this wasn't supposed to be 100% accurate so I feel like it depicted his story well enough.

Does it follow the letter of the book? - No. This movie is only "loosely based" on Saint-Exupery's autobiography. But does it follow the spirit of the book? Definitely! Yes!

While the book itself lacks a big story, the director has somehow managed to shoot a remarkably good plot development. Some viewers may watch it to see "what happens" in the story and there is something for them.

Others, who have read the book, will see the movie mainly for the wonderful breathtaking views, that strange feeling of fear intertwined with awe when flying over unknown territories and the brilliant surprising creativity surrounding the man, who is famous for the line "draw me a sheep".
