A particular family movie with great inputs of emotions from each and every artist depicting the perfect indian middle class. A different story with delucate treatment. Very down to earth and realistic treatment by the director which somehow connects the viewers on a personal wavelength. Sheeba chaddha is an icing on the cake. Her acting is aging like old wine and more you watch her the more you feel absorbed in the character. Other actors are fine and do not disappoint at all. Background music is in perfect sync with the situations and creates a mesmerizing harmony. Do watch this movie with full family for a relaxed moment in today's noisy world.

After a hiatus a wonderfully directed and acted movie showing the complexity and turbulence of generational gap and silent love in the old and gold generation
Good watch with roots in Kannauj - mice depiction of struggle between new vulnerable gen vs old gold - our parents (there routine fights but unfathomable silent love)
Pretty evident that director knew her canvas and shooting af the locales than set makes it different- my family roots are from kannauj ans i could connect with what o saw and felt real
Ashutosh Rana and Sheeba Chaddha portray their roles with full conviction, their characters rich with quirks and emotions. Their on-screen chemistry and natural banter feel authentic, akin to any real-life parental arguments. Pavail Gulati injects energy into the film, making Yug a relatable character for today's youth.

I stumbled upon this one randomly and was pleasantly surprised. Amidst the plethora of crime and thriller content, a lighthearted drama like this offers a sense of calm.
The movie revolves around two generations of the Kaushals. A young man, Yug, wants to enjoy city life and is fed up with his parents, who live in a small town. However, when his parents decide to separate mutually, it throws his life into chaos.
It's a simple tale told as realistically as possible. The depiction of both generations is quite relatable-the way small-town people aspire to be part of the big city and how parents in smaller towns often compromise their ambitions to stay together. However, Yug's love angle feels unnatural, as it happens rather randomly and fails to connect with the audience. It could have easily been omitted.
Pavail Gulati as Yug does a good job and fits the role effortlessly. Veteran actors Sheeba Chaddha and Ashutosh Rana, as his parents, are a treat to watch and portray their parts to perfection. Isha Talwar, as the love interest, is endearing but doesn't have much to offer, ultimately feeling like an extra character. That said, the chemistry between the leads is fresh and works well.
The movie's pacing is just right, so you won't feel bored. However, the songs are below average and don't really stick with you. The courtroom drama feels overly cinematic, which dilutes the movie's authenticity.
It's not extraordinary, but its simple portrayal of slice-of-life drama works. A decent watch for some light entertainment.

I can't say it's good act by actors . It's an emotions what you delivered . Outstanding story please made more films like this. Really appreciated. We really wants to watch such a realistic films nowadays nob6wants to make this type of films but in reality people have to created so our next generation also know about rishto ki taar hamesha Judi rahe. Loved that phase when a son pamper his dad and heartfelt scene. Partner understand each other feeling. Family aisi to honi chahiye jaha har ladki apna ghar basana chahe jaha khatti mithi nok jok ho or behen bhai ka pyar ho unki takrar ho bas or kya.

Wrong star cast... Director should watch TVF's gullak before making a movie on UP... None of the actors could follow the accent of Kannauj. None of the actors could justify thr roles... Its nowhere near the real UP accent. The style and accent killed the feel of movie... I dont know why directors and actors don't research on the character and city's vibe. Wrong star cast... Perfect movie having good script and dialogues have depth. Focusing the real issues of almost every family, and targeting the reason of gaps between parents and children and how the new generation should behave and how parents should handle the social issues. Best acting by Ashutosh and Sheeba and dialog delivery by Sheeba is perfect. A family movie with a small cast and decent script and no vulgarity in this era, is really a master piece. Direction and filmization is also good. New actor Pavail also acted well. Music could be more better. Writer Seema Desai written very well and she also directed this movie in a great manner.

Middle aged parents of grown up children living in a small town in UP find that they are quarreling and arguing most of the time. Both have not been able to pursue their individual passions after marriage. He ( Ashutosh Rana) wanted to be a quawwali singer while she ( Sheeba Chaddha) wanted to deal with manufacturing of Indian perfumes. During one of their bitter quarrels they decide to divorce much to the shock of their working son ( Pavail Gulati) who tries his best to persuade them to change their mind.
This then is the plot of a "grey divorce " in the making which is novel for Indian audiences no doubt but the final product doesn't come out so well. One gets the feeling that in better hands ( read writer/director) the movie could have turned out much better given that they have talented and versatile actors at their disposal.
Presently everything about the movie from script, direction to acting is average at best. The movie refuses to rise above that and connect with the audience despite a relatable premise. There is no intensity in the emotional scenes which remain superficial most of the time. The subplots are distracting too. Both Ashutosh and Sheeba have given many better performances earlier but here they do not impress. Pavail Gulati and his romantic interest Isha Talwar have done better comparitively.

A perfect blend of RELATIONSHIPS RESPECT and LOVE expressed in its most warm form so you can live every moment of this magnificent piece of work. The great message this film delivered is Respect every individual as all of us have that 1 hidden talent. Marriage is displayed as an institution and not as a mere activity and it displays what ingredients go in to make a family , A HAPPY FAMILY. Lastly even the neighbours friends etc blend in your ego trips and the only one who can tell you to do the RIGHT thing is your HEART. So listen to it. Watch this film as a lesson not entertainment. Thank you to the makers.
Kaushalji Vs Kaushal (2025) :
Movie Review -
Kaushalji Vs Kaushal explores the theme of two generations fighting over the meaning of love and relationships. The younger generation believes in moving on, while the older one follows the traditional definition of love; however, soon after, things turn in the reverse direction. The young generation is now submitting to the old traditions of "keeping together," while the older generation wants to "move on." Though predictable and unnecessarily dramatic, Kaushalji Vs Kaushal has enough warmth to make you feel cozy for half an hour or so, while the other one and a half hours remain cold enough to be skipped.
Yug (Pavail Gulati) belongs to the younger generation, who are more interested in Wi-Fi connections than family connections. He works as a copywriter for an ad agency and admires his boss's premium lifestyle. He falls in love with Kiara (Isha Talwar), who believes in "true love" and desires to marry into a happy family. A few days ago, Yug had that "happy family," but after his modern lecture on "we move on," his father and mother decided to get separated. Mr. Kaushal (Ashutosh Rana) and Mrs. Kaushal (Sheeba Chaddha) file for divorce after 27 years of marriage, restricting Yug's marriage to Kiara. How will this battle of relationships end?
The film tackles a dated subject, to be frank, and that's why it lacks much novelty. Recently, a Malayalam film "#Home" shed light on the same issue of the younger generation shaming the previous one, but in the end, it's the current generation that is humiliated. Kaushalji Vs Kaushal features some explosive moments between veterans like Ashutosh Sir and Sheeba Ma'am, and it was quite a surprise to me that the film actually put them front and center to lead the comedy. They both share some absolutely chaotic and funny conversations through situational moments that left me giggling, and I even fell on the floor for a moment or two. The film peaks with these two but then falters with some trivial problems of the younger generation. The narrative tries to force itself into the format of this younger generation when there was no need at all. The film looked so good with the husband and wife's issues; why must it circle around and then shift to the son's marriage? Like the judge said, "Usne exam hi nahi diya toh usse result kaise pata hoga?" It was such a basic thought, but the writers disregarded it and spoiled the natural flow with their useless urban issues.
Ashutosh Rana's Qawwali scenes are "over the top," but the rest of the show is a "blockbuster." I haven't seen this man enjoy his screen presence and his character's humor so much in recent times. The same applies to Sheeba Chadha, who was a riot. I could relate to them and every moment of the arguments they shared because I see my own parents fighting with each other like this daily. This is the film's biggest strength. I just wish that the film had continued with this strength because the young brigade, or that portion and their conflicts, appear so silly and lifeless. Pavail's character is so clueless, though he has done a decent job. Isha Talwar is another character who doesn't logically fit into the frame, but she looks absolutely beautiful. Brijendra Kala and Grusha Kapoor were like those two concrete pillars that you can't shake, and even Deeksha Joshi was fairly watchable in her role.
I may have many complaints about the screenplay, but I freely admit that the film had some moments that truly moved me and brought soft tears to my eyes. The cinematography and color grading made it look like an outdated product, as if it were created to be dumped on an OTT platform. The music doesn't support the narrative, even though there was so much scope for it, and the production design is pretty average too. Seema Desai's vision may be dated and old, but some things are best enjoyed in an "old format." "Old is Gold," they say, right? It's true. Kaushalji vs. Kaushal will make you feel that phrase again, but only for a while. I wish this sweet family dish weren't half-baked; it might have turned out to be so delicious.

KaushalJis vs Kaushal is a warm, heartfelt reminder that our parents are not just caretakers of our ambitions - they have dreams, desires, and inner lives of their own. It gently nudges the younger generation to pause and look at their parents not just as guardians, but as individuals who might still be chasing something meaningful.
The story is fresh and well-crafted, avoiding clichés while staying deeply relatable. Director Seema Desai brings a strong and visionary touch to the narrative, allowing the emotional contrasts within the central couple to unfold with grace and authenticity. The emotional distance between them is not forced - it's delicately portrayed through small gestures, silences, and emotional outbursts that feel real.
Performances are nuanced, the writing is honest, and the pacing gives room for reflection. It's not just a film about aging or domestic life - it's about respect, empathy, and rediscovery within relationships.
If you're looking for a movie that brings generations closer - with sincerity, simplicity, and soul - this one deserves your time.

Worst movie. . Evrything all over place not a minute is worth watching...
It's really worth skipping.
Neither the starting is to the point nor the midst You won't be engaged at any point of time.
Worst acting by every character in the movie. Sorry to say you won't be remembered.
Save some Time be happy in your life you will suffer waching the movie. It could not even engage for a minute actors are overacting at its peak.
Please do not give the movies like this. It's just feels like you wasted money.
Pretty bad experience.

Review Kaushaljis Vs Kaushal
Today, I watched Kaushaljis Vs Kaushal on Jio Hotstar.
A must watch Film by Seema Desai with brilliant performance by Ashutosh Rana & Shiba supported by Pavail Gulati & others. Every artist has given their best.
Director Seema Desai must be credited for handling such a sensitive subject with both humor and emotionally . She skillfully explores the differences between generations, highlighting the contrast between the modern sensibilities of the era and the traditional worldview of parents.
At the centre of the film are Sahil and Sangeeta, played by Ashutosh Rana and Sheeba Chaddha, whose performances as a long-married couple on the verge of separation offer an honest and refreshing look at the emotional realities of relationships as time passes.
Their nuanced portrayals bring out the unspoken grievances and growing isolation that many couples experience in their later years together.
This film is not a typical family drama, this is sensitive heartfelt storytelling of Indian middle class relatable of two generations. Enjoy a good movie.

Is a heartwarming family drama that beautifully weaves together themes of marriage, generational differences, and companionship. It is a film that not only celebrates love but also highlights the importance of traditions, cultural values, and the delicate balance between the old and the new. This is a movie that everyone in the family can enjoy-a true feel-good experience that leaves you smiling long after the credits roll.
Great performance by all the actors with stand out performance by Ashutosh Rana and Sheeba Chadha.
This film is a celebration of family bonds and the beauty of generational wisdom. It gently explores how traditions can be honored while allowing space for new perspectives making it relatable for both young and old alike.
Whether you're looking for laughs, heartwarming moments, or simply a film that brings the whole family together, this one is a winner.

Watched at home with family. Every dialogues have deep meaning of holding a family bonding. I liked the quote "Realtionship is all about acceptance of each other's imperfections". Perfect for the current generation boyz and girls. It's after a long time that we could watch such an amazing movie with all the family members. This may not hit the box offices but it will definitely hit on the minds of the new generation guys.

Honestly, I had no expectations when I decided to watch this movie - I just gave it a try. But now, I'm truly thankful to myself for making that decision. I've never written a movie review before, not because I don't have favorites, but because no movie ever made me feel this way. This one touched the bottom of my heart.
The entire storyline feels perfectly crafted, filled with raw emotions that stay with you long after the credits roll. Every actor seems tailor-made for their role - none could have played their characters better.
What struck me the most is the message hidden within the story - fights in relationships don't mean there's no love. In our generation, we often give up too soon. The movie reminds us that nibhana rishta is what truly matters - understanding that love doesn't always mean perfection, but staying through the imperfections.
This film is not just a story - it's an emotion, a gentle reminder of what relationships are meant to be.
Thank you, Kaushalji vs Kaushal, for making me feel something so rare.

Just saw movie with entire climax making eyes shed tears.
Pizza v/s paratha City v/s Village Hats off to writer, director and all the team, in today's time it is really important to boost stories on family bonding, this will reduce stress levels and make a wonderful life.
It's required by both the generation to change and adopt as per the time, but new generation has to play major role in being connected just as the mobile campaign in the movie.
This is my first ever review, but the movie compelled me to do the so, as from start to send it made to reach to the end and see the message and was worth it.

The film beautifully reflects the challenges in different relationships and focuses on the primary basis of them-love. The actors have done a brilliant job and the movie takes you through an emotional roller coaster while making you ponder upon your personal relationships, goals and ambitions. A heart-warming tale.reflecting upon the times we live in and the amendments required to keep our relationships thriving. Great one after a long time which can be watched along with family and reignites the love, care we share with our loved ones. Parents also loved it as they also got inspired by Mr. And Mrs. Kaushal:)
Much needed movie for the upcoming generations . As been a genz i always thought of building a different home starting a new life but this movie changed my perspective of living life. This movie made me realise it's not necessary to live alone to start a new life but it is very important to live together. Living together creates happiness . Just loved the movie. It showed the importance of family, love, togetherness. This movie should be released in theatres to create awareness. It can help genz to understand the real meaning of love with purity, honestly & it also tells us that goals are equally important to everyone.

Very rare piece of art , soul touching emotions loved the way the director n writter SEEMAA DESAI has been successful in capturing the deepest emotions. Couldnt stop crying as the scenes wr like from our real life incidents .the dialogues the taking the performances all wr 10 out of 10 .very difficult gerne but the way the director was able to convert the script to scenes n capture the true emotions is commendable. Cudos n congratulations to SEEMAA n her team for giving us such a beautiful cinema to be cherished life long .the story telling is simple but the relationship are very complex but the director has a edge to explore n expose the true feelings n emotions with gr8 ease .

Who says heroes have to be young? Kaushaljis vs Kaushal proves that age is just a number when it comes to delivering a fun, heartwarming family entertainer!
Ashutosh Rana and Sheeba Chaddha light up the screen as a delightfully quirky yet endearing couple, stealing scenes with their effortless chemistry. Pavail Gulati and Isha Talwar bring a refreshing charm, adding just the right dose of youthful energy.
Under Seemaa Desai's breezy direction, the film feels fresh, fun, and oh-so-relatable. From laugh-out-loud moments to situations that hit close to home, every scene makes you nod and say, "Been there, done that!"
Whether you're 9 or 90, this is a film best enjoyed with the whole family. So grab your popcorn, gather your loved ones, and get ready for a wholesome, feel-good ride!

Kaushaljis vs Kaushal is an emotional yet entertaining exploration of the often-overlooked struggles faced by aging parents when their adult children move on with their lives. Watching this film with my wife, as both a parent and grandparent, made it an even more touching experience.
The movie beautifully captures the bittersweet reality of parents who, after dedicating their lives to their children-often at the cost of their own passions-find themselves struggle once their kids grow up. It highlights a theme that resonates deeply with many families, portraying a truth that is both heartfelt and thought-provoking.
What makes this film truly stand out is its perfect balance of humor, emotion, and relatability. It doesn't rely on melodrama but instead presents its story with warmth, wit, and moments that make you both laugh and tear up. The performances are stellar, making the characters feel authentic and their struggles painfully familiar.
Kaushaljis vs Kaushal is a must-watch, not just for parents but for adult children as well. It serves as a poignant reminder to cherish and respect our parents and family-not just in moments of celebration but in everyday life. If you've ever experienced the evolving dynamics of family relationships, this film will touch your heart in the most profound way.

Power packed performances and impeccable dialogues by the lead pair Ashutosh and Sheeba. Dialogues that resonates thoughts and feelings, we must have had at some point in our life . Definitely one of Ashutosh Rana's best performance.
The Director has very subtly brought out the simplicity of a town, the neighborhood and its people . Every character is well crafted and holds her/his own.
The songs are in sync with the flow of the movie, however , the Qawalli towards the end of the movie deserves a special mention .
It's been quite some time that you get to watch a movie that pulls a chord close to your heart, a movie the entire family can watch together.

We are living a lie.
We Watched our grand parents live a life of discipline, chain of command, minimal conversation on critical family issues, ladies working home as house champions while males leading external exchanges. We Thought how ridiculous !
But now when we look back- respect for joint families, strict discipline, mannerisms, culture etc are truly revered.
This film is a must watch. Excellent time pass for all.
Lead Actors are excellent Story is ok Locations and setup is also nice.
Music and choreography is just at par.
But The when everything comes in together it makes magic.
Truly recommended.
Away from LGTTQ, away from drugs and cartels and guns and nonsense this is a a recommended light watch.
