Aaron Taylor-Johnson has found his next role in David Mackenzie’s heist thriller “Fuze,” which Anton will launch at the European Film Market in Berlin this month.
The film reunites Taylor-Johnson and “Hell or High Water” helmer Mackenzie, who last worked together on 2018’s “Outlaw King.” With a script from Ben Hopkins, “Fuze” “opens on the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb in a London construction site, sparking a mass evacuation – the perfect cover for a heist,” according to the film’s synopsis.
Taylor-Johnson’s stacked project lineup currently includes the headlining role in Marvel’s “Kraven and the Hunter,” due out in August; “The Fall Guy” alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt; and Robert Eggers’ highly anticipated “Nosferatu.” Mackenzie’s 2016 neo-Western “Hell or High Water” scored four Oscar noms, including best picture, and he’s also set to direct “Relay” starring Lily James, Riz Ahmed and Sam Worthington.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen starred in the Netflix anthology series The Haunting of Hill House in 2018, which gave him a global platform.
The actor is now reflecting how fame can be so ephemeral in the streaming era of television.
“[Being] Netflix famous…It’s quite an interesting thing,” Jackson-Cohen told The Independent in a recent interview. “You’re the most famous person in the world for a while and then the next show comes along and that completely takes over.”
Jackson-Cohen would star in a second season of the Mike Flanagan anthology series titled The Haunting of Bly Manor in 2020. The actor said that following the success of the shows, he started receiving scripts that were “all the same thing, just watered-down, less good versions” of the series he had starred in.

Jamie Childs, known for his work on popular genre shows like Doctor Who and The Sandman, makes an impressive feature film directorial debut with the well-executed thriller Jackdaw. The film follows Jack Dawson, played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen, a struggling veteran who must confront his past demons to find his missing brother. The storytelling is straightforward yet engaging. Childs explains that the inspiration for making Jackdaw came from his desire to transition from TV to film and his realization that he needed to write and direct a movie himself to make that happen.
One would never expect that Jackdaw was filmmaker Jamie Childs' feature film directorial debut, given how well-executed the thriller is, but he's got his long and storied history in television to thank for that. Childs has worked on several beloved genre shows, including Doctor Who, Netflix's recent adaptation of The Sandman, and HBO's highly-regarded His Dark Materials.

Director Jamie Childs expresses confidence in the upcoming second season of The Sandman and believes they have learned from their strengths and weaknesses in the first season. Childs acknowledges the challenge of adapting Neil Gaiman's graphic novel, but after a successful first season, they have a better understanding of what works and what doesn't. The diverse range of genres explored in the upcoming season, including Greek tragedy, cyberpunk, contemporary drama, and chess, makes working on The Sandman a fun and exciting experience for the team.
Jamie Childs, the director of The Sandman, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming second season of the show. In an interview with Screen Rant, he emphasized that they've learned a great deal from the first season and are confident about what works. Childs recalled the challenge of being the first to bring Neil Gaiman's graphic novel to the screen, knowing that previous attempts had fallen short.

Jackdaw is a simple yet intense thriller with gritty cinematography and well-developed characters, making it a riveting watch. A hybrid gangster film and deep rooted family drama played out across the course of two days, Jamie Childs’ Jackdaw opens with the full force of the North Sea and, at its conclusion, finds the same power in an actor’s face. The sea – specifically, a buoy near a wind farm, whose thunderous noise provides an eerie backdrop – is where we first see Jack Dawson (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) in a yellow canoe, forcing his way through angry waves. When he reaches the appointed spot he dives, retrieves a package, but on getting back to the surface he find himself being pursued by two figures on jetskis. A dangerous chase follows which doesn’t let up when he’s back on the mainland and on the motocross bike.
