The series ultimately led sound pioneer and composer Delia Derbyshire to leave the BBC and The Radiophonic Workshop, when this series' episodes running order was switched at short notice, thereby making nonsense (and a lot of wasted effort) of some carefully-planned musical progressions she'd laid down on the score. The horn used in the theme tune was found in Tutankhamun's tomb, and is thought to be the King's own.
