What a great story of 2 hearts. They hide their feelings so deeply made me myself feel affected. All assumptions went south.
All hope seems to have been destroyed. Then brought back before being destroyed again. This feeling is like being hit many times on a stone plain. Until the end, it is left up to one's own imagination.
The performance of the characters is very good with facial expressions and body language that make a very strong impression.
Only in the final episodes, the pace slows down a bit and makes the soul struggle to know what's next.
I hope for more great stories like this in the future.

This was way, way TOO slow for me. I liked the idea of a bank themed workplace so watched it but it was so slow and boring it just put me to sleep. I am reluctant to give out 5 stars however there were 2 saving elements - There was really only 2 things good about this series: 1. Episode 13 when Ga-ram Jung stepped up to be a man and finally put some excitement into the series when he found out about the so-called "incident". But the excitement was a one scene wonder due to the rest of the series that got boring again. 2. Yoo Yeon-seok gave out a very few kisses, but the ones he did were really good - you could see he has lots of experience in that department.
The ending was the worse unsatisfying ending I ever saw in a series.

If a romantic drama series is going to conclude with an unresolved ending that leaves it up to the viewer to decide whether the couple end up together or not, then the journey toward that ending has to be sufficiently rewarding. I don't think that it is in this case.
The series is very well acted, and has a good ensemble cast, however i found the scriptwriting very disappointing.
This series would have us believe that nearly every Korean lives with their head in the sand, and is unable to carry on a frank conversation, even when they are in private.
I found the main relationship to be unrealistic, with the primary couple failing at every opportunity to behave in a normal human manner.
They appear to prefer talking in riddles, than hashing out their situation like regular people would.
In fact the only main character that seemed to behave in a rational manner was So Kyung Pil, who was too often portrayed as the villain for only being honest to himself and others.
When i compare the writing here to two of my favourite Korean romantic dramas - One Spring Night (Bombam), and Something In The Rain - i find that it pales in comparison.
It is at least better than My Liberation Diary, which meandered along and went nowhere, but not by much.
Despite my frustration with the actions and decisions of the characters, I watched it all the way through in the hope that I would at least be rewarded with a satisfactory ending. Alas i was again disappointed. It is possible to conclude a romantic story successfully with an open ending - watch My Mister for a prime example - however The Interest Of Love fails in that department too, due to the inferior writing.
In the end I felt that my time could have been better invested elsewhere, and am still craving to find another Korean romantic drama of the standard of the aforementioned three series.

Today finished k-drama
'The Interest of Love'
Based on book, This romantic drama is understated.
It's not the typical cliché romantic genre kdrama with hyper energetic characters doing random things in the name of love.
It's a portrayal of love, inexpressive love n longing, yearning, heartbreaks n melancholy.
This actual slice of drama shows, how social status, wrong decisions, past events, affects future n makes you regret.
All characters are flawed which makes them human. Leads specially female has complex character. Leads unable to do things directly. They are emotionally, socially fearful ( like most of US),
All lead actors performed well with subtle emotions, neither overdramatic nor poker face. Leads has intense chemistry which is undeniable.
Drama's trailer was misleading, made viewers think that it's about adultery n cheating but nothing sort of happen. It's a very unpredictable drama.
Drama has slow pacing, I'm OK with it but someone might find it watching paint dry. Might be frustrating at times. Drama has melodious OSTs, good production design, cinematography n overall good direction. Supporting actors also performed well.

"The Interest of Love" is not for everyone, definitely not for the ones who believe in fast forward love stories.
It is for us... the hopeless romantics, we don't love simple fun loving love life, it has to be complex, confusing, intriguing where you introspect yourself.
I could totally relate with each and every character.....the beauty of this drama is the pace. It is slow, there is no hurry to jump on to any conclusion, there is entry & exit of emotions, the feeling of disappearing and destroying...these are real notions, this is life!!
Patiently waited each week to upload the new episodes, was excited to see what unfolds!!
And yes, the main lead Yoo Yeon Seok he never disappoints. His suttleness is the key to his success.
So if you have patience and the understanding of difficult love....then don't miss this drama.

This kinda woman might be exist somewhere in this universe, but please we don't need this toxic human character to lead The story. I though this would be great series because i love Yoo Yeon Seok in Dr. Romantic. But I dissapoint each eps over and over again.
And the finale eps is The worst, i think the whole production team are problematic individuals. How dare you guys spent a lot of Production's budget just to make problems with no conclusions? You worked so hard days and nights for months just to Show us this?? Is It enough for you because you have Moon Ga Young in It? I really feel sorry for The investors. Please evaluation!

I want to be very clear: this is a superb series for whomever is looking for a westerner, social + romantic, full of very very interesting ideas type one. However, the problem is that k-drama watchers are mostly the ones watching it, so the rating is low because of this: they expect a nice bubbly story, with all kind of hidden relations that are going to be revealed in the end, full of romantic, unexpected turns, so of course, for them this is going to be boring. Again, the series is superb, depicting perfectly the social segregation, power abuse, difficult to reach relations, but the final idea that a relation should be stopped after an amazing climax has been reached is stunning (and it's so very difficult to stop...) despite there are counterexamples when two people live happily ever after (yes, you can count them on the fingers of a single hand, but... there are!!). An excellent director, who used picturesque effects to show a large variety of feelings on the screen. It's absolutely everything else but boring!
I took a chance on this kdrama and i ended up watching all 16 episodes. It was overall enjoyable, albeit slow, because it felt like it didnt rely too much on typical over-the-top style.
It felt more grounded, and the ending (not the best) solidfies that among other things. The actors were good for their roles so that made it easy to come back to see what happens.
But because of the slowness at times, especially even the last episode, I felt it was a series I would not want to watch again. On the initial watch, I feel like it could've been done in 12 episodes at the most.
And though I applaud it for being more grounded for a drama, my opinion on re-watchability would probably change if it WAS a comedy instead.

I thought the actors were all pretty good. I just can't stand these depressing stories. Ironically the second leading man was also in Love Alarm, another K-Drama I couldn't stand. Currently on episode 15 and it's heading towards a sad ending, or perhaps another ending similar to Love Alarm, where the writer keeps you in the dark regarding the true emotions of the female lead. Also, others have mentioned how they disliked the normalization of cheating, and I agree regarding that sentiment, however, I don't believe any of the characters actually cheated...I think they made others believe that they cheated... hopefully I will find this out tomorrow.
Ugh, I'll be watching finale tomorrow, but if you haven't started, and you prefer happy endings, go watch something else, like It's Okay to Not Be Okay (my absolute favorite K-Drama).

This is a very well-written show with excellently-developed characters. None of the characters are shown to be particularly good or particularly bad - but as human beings, which is something I greatly appreciate as a writer. The realistic themes covered here will definitely get the viewer to think long and hard about our societal framework and how that can either help or hinder our way to happiness.
Another thing I like is the acting of the main four. Though all of them are subtle with their emotions, they still form distinct personalities which make for great performances overall. Understated acting is perhaps one of the hardest types of acting to accomplish, so I believe the lead actors did a superb job with their characters, being neither overdramatic nor wooden.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys rich character development and unpredictable, yet realistic outcomes. The best part of this show is how incredibly human the characters are, which is something I believe needs to be shown more in movies and TV.

This was very slow paced, but I managed to get to the end. The writing & direction were questionable. The interaction between the ML & FL was very strained & unnatural. I don't know whose fault that was, but I just did not get the romance.
Her relationship with the young security guard was also a mystery. She was more like a mother than a girlfriend. Every time he spoke he was apologizing. It was agonizing. Why she had to create the scenario for the break-up was beyond my comprehension. Hadn't she heard of just telling your partner you are not happy. It seemed like she overheard partial conversations upon which she reacted in a strange way.
The office environment was toxic for the females. After accepting everything that was thrown at the FL, the best thing she did was to stand up to the boss & go to HQ to complain. But it took a lot for her to do that & the others just stood by while their co-workers were treated poorly. The 3 'idiot' clerks were just so immature at times. The ML was depicted as this top recruit but then he floundered. The drinking culture was very concerning.
The 2 that I thought seemed the most 'human' was Mr So & Ms Park. They showed the most natural reactions & she was brave enough to really show her feelings. I felt sorry for her.
There was the usual separation followed by the reconnection. The ending was ambiguous.

Such a disappointment! Yoo played the role as a Pediatric Surgeon in the popular show " Hospital Playlist " He's likable & gave an excellent performance.
But in this show, his role was pathetic, obsessed and uninteresting.
The character Samg Su was boring, annoying, unsympathetic with robot like face.
Female role-Su Yeong was just as bad. Throughout the series, her facial expressions were the same-emotionless, takes forever to complete a sentence, often with clueless stares.
The script writer failed. Storyline was boring, slow, often the actors hesitated so much just to finish one sentence, then they often just standing still facing each other, looking at each other, way too pretentious.
Then there're these annoying music with songs appeared way too long & too much, especially a whistling sound, most irritating to the ears.
In summary, this was the one of the worst K-Drama I've seen. It was dragging out to 16 episodes, while 12 episodes would have been more than enough.

On my opinion actors showed all kinds of emotions very well. The kdrama shows struggle to find the love in this life and I think a lot of us can empathize with tot.
Feels like a real human story. Also describes well the specific Korean complexity in society.
I like this non standard story, and there are much less cliche than in other kdramas.
After it a lot of thoughts and questions appeared in my mind. And the feelings are good and calm. Appreciate the love in my life)) The actors were pretty good too. The scenes of Korea are beautiful as usual with all the seasons.
Not for everyone, because it is all about relationships and emotions.
I think it is underrated, the kdrama is really interesting.

The series deals with the love lives of a group of bank employees and the complications that ensue when one of them switches her interest to another. I have awarded it six as some of the interactions and emotions capture what it feels like to be in love but sadly the writer as the story goes on just shows a warped sense of what love is. The actors do a sterling job but the characters they are playing you just want to pick up and shake some sense into, no person would put up with the dull emotion shown in this series. The series also spends a lot of time showing shots of people deep in thought but they still act in the stupid monotonous way they always do thus making those shots pointless.

This might be the worst K-drama I can't stop watching, desperately hoping the story will make sense or the characters will start thinking and behaving rationally. The female lead has one blank expression, acts irrationally and frankly treats the male lead (who seems like a decent, sensitive guy) like utter garbage. This is basically as asinine as Gossip Girl except with GG you expect a level of craziness. On top of all the nonsense, there's also the "clingy girl who desperately latches onto the guy" trope...can we please move on from this poor representation of women? I'm hopeful the last few episodes will redeem this dumpster fire of a story and characters.

I have 3 episodes left and am really enjoying this show. The actors have a lot of depth and the story is engaging. Having watched Yoo Yeon-Seok in Mr. Sunshine (a must watch!), he is not disappointing in this show and I mainly watched it to see him at first. He conveys the implied emotion on his face without even saying a word, he is a very good actor!
This is a show about love and discrimination based on upbringing and the amount of money you have. It also shows us how important timing can be to a relationship and how the choices we make affect not only ourselves, but can have a profound impact on others.
I am puzzled by the low ratings given by other viewers. Perhaps they like action or crazy storylines, or perhaps they like popcorn shows where they dont have to think much and where there isn't much character development?
In any case, go into it with an open mind and don't let the other reviews prevent you from watching. At least give it a chance.

Started ok, then quickly spiralled to a pit. I congratulate myself for lasting up to episode 15, and maybe half of episode 16. Whyyyy?
Glaring reasons why this will be a waste of your time: 1. Nonsense storyline. Actually... absence of a storyline is more like it. In a nutshell: a non-story story of 2 couples who have zero chemistry trying to convince us that they are attracted to each other.
2. Horrible acting. I liked the FL in other shows but she was so one-dimensional here. Was she trying to portray a demure character? Naive? Sweet? She had one expression throughout 16 episodes. She appeared spaced out most of the time. Forever trying to project someone pensive and full of thoughts but only ended up looking dumb and ... dumber.
2. ML had a perennially pained expression like someone kept stepping on his toes. Like his FL, that was the only expression he wore.
3. 2nd ML - same!!! Two facial expressions throughout. In near tears, and in tears. Sure he was an underdog security guard, but he was a pathetic wimp at best.
4. 2nd FL was more likable but by the 2nd half of the series fell into the same monochromatic acting.
5. Everything, every episode, every movement, was sloooooow. Trying to create a deep, brooding vibe - unsuccessfully. Slow smile that isn't exactly a smile. Slow shift of gaze from left to right, right to left, down to eye level, from eye level to downwards. Slooow conversation. Long, meaningless pauses in conversations.
I can go on. Watch this when you have insomnia.

This is a very subtle love story told in a way like no other. It is a slow burn but worth the watch. The leading actors were spectacular, a lot of this story is not simply told through their words but unfolds beautifully solely through their gaze and expressions. These characters are far from being perfect people, their struggles and background are realistic and heartbreaking. You feel the weight of their emotions, their fears and imperfections. The cinematography and soundtrack were great. Filming locations were beautiful. I enjoyed every episode but I can see why viewers looking for a quick paced, light-hearted drama were disappointed. This show is one to be savoured slowly.
The story would've been justified if the writer gave the characters a happy ending. All the effort and sacrifice were all for nothing. It is not realistic to just meet the person you love the most after several years and just be cool about everything. You don't usually discuss your regrets and show your feelings if you don't have the intention to have a proper relationship with that person. The actors were amazing but it's sad because even though they did a good job the series got a low rating because of a poorly written story line. I still commend the actors for doing a great job! I still like the main characters!

I really tried. The first episode took FOREVER to watch because it was so painfully dull. Ive never written a negative comment on any KDramas. 7 was the worst rating id given. Most of them are bangers. The not so great ones are still watchable!! My goodness, this was terrible. Even the acting seemed off. Who's directing them to act so bad?? And what in the world is the storyline??? I cant with characters that are supposed to have no expressions. And where are the laughs? This was a brutal hour. Save yourselves. Go check out the other 1000 kdrama series on Netflix. Was Yoo Yeon-seok blackmailed into doing this i wonder.

I liked this in general because it was not your typical K Drama storyline , although they didn't break the mould , I found it less predictable than usual and thought the sultry lead characters portrayal was excellent. At times it was slow but I didn't mind as it was not confusing as some K Drama's tend to do . My only complaint would be the final episode . I myself wasn't expecting a happy ending which it wasn't , so why not make it tragic . I was half expecting the policeman to kill his unfaithful lover .Despite some less than favorable reviews here I think this mini series will be well received as time goes by as Moon Ga young star shines brighter .

God only knows whats the female lead characters Su Yeongs confusion about
They are just dragging the show as there is no story line
Its not justified for her to ignore Sang su just for a moment of hestitation.. i wonder what he likes in her... she is so boring all the time.
All episodes are the same , static expression of Su yeong and constipated expression of Sang su.. i watch this Kdrama to sleep well... Right from episode 1 its the same stuff happening, Su Yeong keeps running from one to another and Sang su always follows suit Suddenly the parents are shown ,with whom again she is so cold, whats her issue with her mom ,if she is angry with her dad its fine.
