Sattam En Kaiyil

I didn't expect Sathish to do a solo movie, heard some really good things about this film. Technically it's very well made. Well shot. Good sound design that adds to the intensity of a thrilling storyline. Well written, but...there are 2-3 twists that the film heavily relies on and I sadly was able to see them coming from a long way away, but I was still curious to see how things played out. Unfortunately, despite the engaging first 80mins, the climax felt a little too convenient.

Would I recommend it...? Maaaaaybe. If you love crime thrillers but haven't really watched a lot of them, especially international thrillers, you'll be pleasantly surprised by this one, especially for a Kollywood movie. If you are a regular consumer of international content, you'll find this to be a predictable film but it'll still end up being a decent one-time watch.

I must say it is a very satisfying crime thriller movie with comedian Satish in a completely a different role with no bit of comedy and not heroism also... With no hype for this movie i had very least expectation and i thought of it so in its initial scenes.. But the screenplay further into movie made us sit upright and the final cliamx scenes made us uncover the initial scenes pretty decent... The story is nothing new with some revenge etc... But the screenplay of this movie is very decently written and the tier 2 and 3 actors not so established actors made the movie interesting....... No unnecesaary songs or no heroic fights but Satish displays his not comic best role and he should do more of such roles as well which suits him... All actors have done their role especially well and the scenis beauty of yercaud has been exploited beautifully... The entire movie was set in a overnight making it interesting... There are hardly any boring moment and definitely worth a watch.

The movie starts slow and towards the end unwinds all the connections. I honestly had low expectations as it started very slow but it picks up pace and diverts us towards a different direction while the actual truth is revealed only in the end which made the story gripping. They did a good job with the screenplay and music. The screenplay is the backbone of the movie, I did not feel any loose ends or unwanted scenes. The only thing I felt was they could have shortened the movie to make you feel tied to the screen and edgy. There are some drags between the parts which if avoided would have made a good thriller. A worth OTT watch.

When Raghu recommended watching 'Sattam En Kaiyil', going by it's title on justice, I didn't expect it to be a mind-blowing thriller. The Tamil thriller with a seemingly simple plot hooks us from the start with its gripping narrative and nail-biting moments.

The film steadily builds tension with unpredictable twists that keep us guessing. The climax is the highlight of the plot, seamlessly tying together all loose ends. It delivers an emotionally resonant conclusion, leaving us with a sense of justice served and making the title apt for the storyline. Watch out for the last scene that is emotionally moving - revealing anything more will be a spoiler.

Actor Sathish as the main character deserves a mention for his natural portrayal ability conveying the tension, vulnerability and determination with ease.

It's a must-watch for fans of thrillers, those who appreciate intelligent plots.
