Doc of the Dead will be making its world premiere at SXSW in March and we have a brand new clip “Zombie Survival” clip that features Greg Nicotero, Robert Kirkman, and Simon Pegg:

Others planned for the film include author Max Brooks (World War Z, soon to be a major motion picture starring Brad Pitt), Greg Nicotero (Executive Producer and make-up FX “The Walking Dead”), Charlie Adlard (Artist, “The Walking Dead”), Mick Garris (Stephen King’s “The Shining,” and “The Stand”), Steve Barton (Dread Central), Alan Jones (Frightfest), and many more!

It's been a long time coming, but the definitive living dead documentary which You helped to make happen is getting ready to make its premiere at the upcoming SXSW Film Festival, and right now we have a new clip for you courtesy of AICN.

Doc of the Dead, an Epix Original Documentary from director Alexandre O. Philippe, will have its world premiere at the Austin festival, which this year holds its film program from March 7-15.

Synopsis:

They’Re You. They’Re Us. They’Re Everywhere…They’Re All Messed Up…They’Re Dead. Doc Of The Dead is the definitive zombie culture documentary and speculative chronicle of the Zombie Apocalypse. Doc of the Dead to Make its World Premiere at SXSW
It has been announced that Doc of the Dead will be making its world premiere at South By South West 2014. SXSW 2014 will take place from March 7 – 16 in Austin, Texas and they started announcing details on the upcoming festival this week. We don’t have screening details yet, but we’ll be providing readers with more SXSW coverage over the coming months.

Doc of the Dead is a zombie culture documentary that has been directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (The People vs. George Lucas) and features George A. Romero, Simon Pegg, Max Brooks, and a number of other special guests. We’ve included the previously released release details, clips, and the trailer below, but expect to have updated information and content soon.

Status Update on Doc of the Dead
Doc of the Dead is a zombie culture documentary that is being directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (The People vs. George Lucas). The documentary is expected to be wrapped up later this year and we have an update on some of the horror icons that have filmed segments.

We previously told you that Simon Pegg and George A. Romero have filmed segments. On top of that, we’ve been told that you can expect interviews with Max Brooks, Stuart Gordon, and Sid Haig. Other horror-related actors and filmmakers are expected to take part and we’ll have another update when they are officially confirmed.

Additionally, we’ve been told that they’re planning a trip to Haiti to cover the voodoo zombie origins with an expert on the topic. A release date has not been announced, but it’s been revealed that the film will be wrapped up by the end of the year.
