Unable to process it even after 1 hour of watching.
What just i saw.
How can someone makes you laugh like hell and next minute you are crying watching same person.
Felt like i was there at funeral of your Abbaji because the way zakir express was so real.
I never written any review earlier i just watch and leave even if liked or not.
I couldn't resist myself.
Forwarded to my kattar hindu friend to watch this. We are just human with same emotions, kindness. Stay happy. Spread love.
One of the best thing watched so far . So overwhelmed , unable to express, out of word literally.
Thanks zakir.

The thing about Zakir Khan is he is a wordsmith first and a comic second. The choice of words, the delivery, the life lessons are so masterful that many parts of his set is quotable. He is India's George Carlin.
There are very few stand-up comics who you genuinely love. The way Indian audience love Arijit Singh and how an Indian city would come to standstill when Arijit performs, traffics rerouted, areas cordoned off, entire football ground converted to parkings, Zakir Khan is in that league of comics, Indian audience genuinely loves him.
Talking about the set, this set is extremely experiential. You need to sit down and watch the set, laugh, chuckle, smirk, hide a few laughs and dry your eyes from time to time. This set can be but need not be summarized in a few lines. Just like most of Carlin's sets.
All I want to say about the set is, you can wear this set as a winter coat when things feel cold around you, and it will keep you warm. And if you need a non-Carlin reference to gauge how good it is, think of Panchayat Season 1 or Kota Factory Season 1.
Zakir, if you are reading this, you kept the magic intact through out. Spellbound!

Zakir and his specials, the guy is a wonderful story teller and this time around he narrates the story of his Abba ji (Grandfather). The 1:30 hour special is so beautifully performed by Zakir recollecting all his memories with his Abba. Zakir takes you through his life from when he was a kid to where he is today. Special thanks to Tanmay and AIB who gave him the chance. AIB has created so many ripples and we as the audience are reaping the benefits. Also I remembered on air with AIB, what an amazing concept that was, so ahead of its time (like all the things that AIB has done). Absolutely loved the special. 10/10 would recommend.

Zakir Khan is way above Standup Comedy. He is an unmatched & brilliant Storyteller. "Tathastu" is HIS story and I as an audience could visualize & feel his every word.
I've watched numerous performers of storytelling, poetry, comedy, music etc. Online, but what Zakir made of himself and the grab he has over storytelling is out of this world and "Tathastu" is an example of this Out of The World storytelling.
The story revolves around him growing up in a joint family where 3 generations live alongside and how the 3rd (latest) generation feels of the prior generations. The plot is full of observations, comedy, painful emotions and very effective life lessons.
One such lesson is "Professional Goals are less than Personal Loss". For the context of this, Watch the Show & I guarantee you won't regret.

How many colours can a man have?
Tathasthu is a roller coaster ride of emotions, drama, laughter and beats of realness in the story.
If there was a ship sailing in the sea, Zakir could have escaped it from the waves. How can someone in a real sense describe the journey so well.?
Every emotion, Every vocal that has come out from your heart has reached your audience. It made me cry to the core that I started missing my Grandparents.
Sometimes the loss you have gives power to you but it keeps you so grounded that you started acting like the person you hated once.
Love you to the core Zakir bhai !!!
Once you said in a program, Itne qabil bano sahab k kisi din bethakr biryaani khaaye saath !!
I am so overwhelmed and so proud of you.
Love you Always bhai.

We keep trying no matter what situation it was and whatever anyone things. People will put question ultimately family is the most important to us. TATHASTU is an absolute Roller Coaster ride of emotions. I've seen Tathastu Live as well & still couldn't stop myself from watching it again. There are so many things you miss upon first viewing. Everytime you watch it you will catch & relate to something new. Comedy comes from Tragedy & Zakir uses that in the best possible way. The legacy of the Khans is Beautiful & You realize that artistry runs in the family & Zakir has a legacy of his own. An impossible feat to achieve legendary status for an Artist blooming post Short Form Content Era. The purity of this special & Zakir Khan is incomparable.

It has funny stories from his childhood, family relationships and the journey of Zakir's Life throughout.
This show specially focuses of his relationship with his Grandfather and how the presence of a person is important in life.
The way he got transformed to the character of his grandfather with time, it's about that and how our thinking changes with time.
One thing really important at a certain point of time is not even relevant after sometime and that's how it is actually.
"Professional Success is temporary, But Personal Loss is Permanent"
That sums it up all. A must watch for all. Thanks for reading this.

The specials works best for you when you know the guy to some extent, his sense of humor, his narration style and some major achievements in his life such as his Delhi Girl stand-up video. This standup special is unlike something you've ever seen, Instead of 25 different bits, Zakir tells different stories about his life, both hilarious and heartbreaking. To be able to take an audience from side-splitting laughter to tears with just a turn of phrase is astounding and Zakir does so with aplomb. He very casually shares words of wisdom that it is so beautiful to watch. I had a smile on my face throughout the show because that is how well Zakir connects with his audience.
The special makes you feel bad for not getting to watch it live.
It is beautiful. Even if you're not that big a fan of standup comedy, you should just watch the show for the experience.

Dont have words to define it. This one was beautiful. Simply beautiful. Any standup special can make you laugh. This one will make you cry your heart out as well. By the end you will feel so pure and fresh that the experience will stay in your mind for days.
Zakir is the GOAT for a reason. His storytelling abilities are beyond any other comedian.
The whole show is a tribute to his grandfather. His relationship with him, and his grandfather's legacy that he has left behind.
He has a knack to make you so familiar with the person that by the end you will feel emotional attachement to him. Absolutely worth watching.

Starting 1 hour was amazing, laughter at it's best but the last part was spine chilling and made me cry like a baby because i lost someone few months ago and i was highly and heavily relating to it, Everybody knows that zakir khan is India's biggest standup comedian, but for me he is the greatest story teller who pearces hearts of his audience everytime when he performs.
Every punch was on the spot, every joke was highly relatable to everybody's lives especially people who lives or lived in joint families. I love for the fact that he is basically us but more famous because of the sheer effort and struggles he faced.

From scene 1 it seemed a bit fake. Jokes were NOT funny, story is very ordinary. Any small town boy would have a story like this to tell...why would you want to listen to these nonsensical stories which has literally ZERO punches. These might be funny to his own friends and families in their private gatherings but not for a universal audience.
There are much better HINDI 'comedians' out there who are better story teller without so much unnecessary hype around their act.
Had expected so much better from him in this act but unfortunately this is neither a great standup act nor a great story in any sense.

There is magic. And there's this man naming Zakir Khan. Just no words you'll laugh, cry and live the emotion in this 90 minutes.
I don't think I'm the one even to say you to watch it. If you haven't watched then stop reading right now and go watch it. Still reading just go.
Anything I'll say is a spoiler. It's my dream to work with Zakir Bhai and to have a talk.
Tathastu starts off with a recap of moments from Zakir's life. Starting from his early school days, the performance is a ride where the audience gets a peek at the family he was born in, the characters he grew closest to and his young years bloated with aspirations of becoming an RJ. He goes onto share a few personal learnings on stage as he tries to make sense of his journey thus far.

I loved this special stand up. I regret not watching this live in Ahmedabad.
I laughed and I cried and I was in awe at the end of it.
Though every act done by zakir khan is always relatable, this one just touched me at another level.
I remember an old zakir khan video which i LOVED about his father and his relation with him. I think this one goes beyond that video as well.
Its really true that the one who does not appreciate/acknowledge and feel debt towards the hard work and love passed on to them by their earlier generations will not pass anything valuable or meaningful to their future generation.
Zakir khan gives this message in such a lovely way.
I hope whoever sees this carry this values from this amazing and emotional piece of art created by zakir khan.
I loved this !!!

This guy very humorously curtails the truth of everyone's life with a shuttle touch of humour.
If you've followed this man's journey , you would know how far he has come with his pure honesty.
Tathastu - is a stand up by Zaakir Khan and his journey which he has narrated several times in different formats and flavours.
He very intelligently takes your through his childhood, his journey to standup comedy, his relationships with his family members and the places he comes from. He takes you on a laughter ride and emotional rollercoaster very smoothly.and you wouldn't be able to stop choking at the end of the show.
A must watch .

If only there was any as good as him! Zakir you are a true human and your craft shines brighter than any gem. Your take on humanity is something that I have always loved and admired but this, this was beyond an ideology, beyond an art! I am sure Abbaji is talking about you always wherever he is. You are more than just an inspiration to our generation. You are blessed with gift of storytelling and I am sure this is just a beginning for a mammoth of a journey of a legend! I have had the fortune of watching you perform live once and I urge all to go see you live. I Keep doing your good work! Love always - just a huge fan!

One of the best shows written and performed by heart
I think this is the best way to give a tribute to your loved ones
The story, the words, delivery outstanding
I laughed, smiled and cried my heart out in this performance
Zakir you are amazing God bless your family
It basically started on a normal Zakir tone that you would expect and I started it with hopes that it will be a typical Zakir khan performance like light comedy, ishq, poetry, few sattires but a good performance
But my mind was blown as the performance progressed and took the turns I couldn't have imagined His life story, his inspirations, his struggles and thoughts in between are too good
Being from a middle class joint family things were too relevant
I suggest this to everybody who speaks and understand hindi This is a rare masterpiece. 100 out of 100 performance.

Jugalbandi, emotion & Love.
As usual zakir sharef his wonderful story, u will never know how he has taken ur 1 & a half hour of time, you will never know when will u start crying & when will you start laughing on random situations. It was like a movie, where you don't need characters, they just come & go randomly. You will relate withthe situations, specially if you have that bonding with someone in your life, if you have a teacher, a student jugalbandi, you will definitely relate than. I will never forget this beautiful standup comedy by my favourite zakir khan. May god bless him with more life & let him live the dream he had ever imagined in his life.

Every comedian's career starts with 'Just For Laughs' phase. Which is usually, content with perspectives/observations on relatable topics. Zakir Khan has transcended that and moved to the 'personal insight' phase. This is where the gold is. This is where the art in artist begins.
The next phase would being the mic for social issues. Mind you social issues, not political.
Take any of the greats. George Carlin, Dave Chappelle, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy even Vir Das. They have all gone through that phase. True artistry transcends the art form.
Good stand-up comedians make you laugh continuously. Great ones keep your attention captured throughout and get the apex laughs.

One can't stop watching this show again and again with same level or excitement. If you can't watch it at once then you'll not be like that I've to resume from here and need to continue from here. You'll get connectivity automatically. It's a complete autobiography in a stand up that no one can even imagine. You can't find a single second of your time got wasted. And will surely dir to watch again and again. Tathastu rocks!!!

Even though there was a shaky start and a not so great call back ending, the way it grips you in the climax like a movie and you feel so many things in those 20 minutes, nothing short of a masterpiece. Amazing Zakir, take a bow.
You are a great storyteller but the way you understand human psyche, accept all the flaws in the system , families , relationships and just play with it, speaks to his character. Rarely do you see such beautiful story telling combined with jokes hit the right notes again and again everytime he is on stage. What a brilliant tribute to your grandfather and all the people who helped you in the journey.

Zakir Khan has truely put his heart and soul into this. While watching this act I not only noticed this man's hilarious comedy performance but also witnessed a great story telling. Starting with a simple banter, he takes you all the way though steep emotional hike without forgetting to make you laugh histerically in between.
This man really knows his craft and he's constantly making himself untouchable at this. Hats off to this show and him as a performer. Very well written and even better performed. Full 10 stars without a doubt.
Don't compaint if tears start slowly rolling down your cheeks towards the end of this act.
