From my first impression of the movie's cover alone, I figured that this was another movie from Maverick Entertainment. And true enough, that assumption came true when I saw that ethereal horse galloping across the screen as the movie started. And given Maverick Entertainment's track record, then I wasn't harboring an ounce of expectation to the movie. And on the off-chance that writers Kendra Rainey-King and A. D. Scott actually concocted a great storyline, then I opted to watch it, well that and the fact that it was a movie that I hadn't already seen.

The movie was not off to a great start, with that atrocious music playing during the intro sequence. Yeah, I absolutely loathe and abhor rap and hip hop music, no secret there. In fact, the entire movie was just crammed with lousy music, which definitely didn't help to lift up the movie in any way.

The dialogue and grammar in the movie was amazingly cringeworthy to bear witness to.

The acting performances in "Knee Deep" were pretty amateurish, and most of the performances were wooden and rigid and the dialogue sounded half-hearted. Of course I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, and I can't claim to be particularly impressed with what I saw on the screen.

This was in fact another dumpster fire of a movie from Maverick Entertainment.

My rating of director A. D. Scott's 2023 movie "Knee Deep" lands on a most generous two out of ten stars.
