Everybody seemed to love it. I think everyone could reference it with an action adventure story they may have grown up with. The film was slightly longer than expected, but it payed off in the end.
Well, I needn't have worried, because Mission From Outer Space 2037 still hits the mark. Yes, it's homegrown and rather odd, but I think that's all part of the fun. This is a classic feeling film out of the 1980s but in the future. It's the young kids who have to band together to save the world, and a story that works very well here.
Every aspect of this movie is spot on, which I can only put down to actors and directors obsessive attention to detail. The characters are distinct, memorable and believable. The plot builds slowly into the most tense, suspenseful roller-coaster ride we are hopeful to experience in the cinema world.

I am just going to add my voice to the chorus of praise for this indie jewel of a movie. It is as near to being perfect as any I have ever seen. I will say that it is much better than other smaller budget alien films. This looks very big budget. The aliens were clean and thankfully not CGI, or at least did not look like they were. But I do love all the characters in this movie. I have rarely seen a movie where all the characters were so well developed. Even most serious dramas seldom develop each character so completely. None of these characters are stereotypes once you got into their story. A very special film and very refreshing.

There's honestly nothing bad I can say about this movie. I loved Mission From Outer Space 2037. It's very entertaining, sweet and cool. It is an absolute must if you are a Lee Majors fan - he really shines here. If you watch this film you, will love it! I always enjoy seeing a very emotional and raw indie space film, in this case peppered with a Mission Impossible feeling of a very unique nature. There are also some very funny scenes, so you are sure to laugh! I also loved the cinematography! All the different lighting and camera angles made this film even more interesting. There were also some wild special effects!

It stars a multi-generational cast that works well and frankly I have not seen anything like this.
Sure we have children in cinema, but this one hits a mark watching children completely talk and act like adults and pull it off to be believable.
Warning this film is not for children. There is plenty of blood and guts to make the young viewer run for cover. However, Mission From Outer Space 2037 is a grower, a film that pays better dividends on the opening and closing of the film but makes up for the rather slow center with lots of strong, well thought out comedy.
Viewers once armed with the knowledge of what sort of theme drives it on will find themselves rooting for both the bad guy and the good guy. Yet it still frustrates greatly and you can see why it proved so divisive, It has a strong Judeo-Christian message. The message is fantastic but for the anti religious zealots it may be a turn off. Respectfully for the faith based crowd this is a winner.

I loved Mission From Outer Space 2037. It's very entertaining sweet and cool. It is an absolute must if you are a Lee Majors fan - he really shines here. I am super excited to see a very powerful and cool film like this come out of Houston.
As for Aliens, it is a perfect sci-fi action movie. Great casting, great music, effects, great use of technology and a well written script are all present. Lee Majors performance is outstanding; fantastic as a leader and tremendous as a comedian. If you have a chance to watch this film get ready, I suggest you take it in. It expands on a spiritual level which makes all the characters performance all the better.

It's easy to figure out what a Sheriff & Alien film is going to be about. I'm not familiar with many alien films but what the title has promised us and the poster is interesting. There is a Sheriff, then there are aliens, young secret agents and in fact Russian robot like humanoids.
If you are fond to Western movies then you'll be entertained but if you are expecting too much aliens then you might get disappointed. You won't be seeing anything mind blowing effects in this film, however you won't see any cheap CGI. If you want to see Sci-Fi action plus Western violence mixed with very believable child and teen acting then this film is just for you.
Mission from Outer Space 2037 is nothing but to entertain you. The only thing that is unique here is the outstanding across the board of a wide age demographics, all done with top notch acting. The film is not just your typical indie space film movie but instead more of a coming of age film with very handsome Russian bad guys turned good with a wit of some sadistic bandit. The aliens are the antagonist of the film, yet we never get much into that outside of just being a spooky shadows that are realistic but we don't get enough of them.
The aliens are pretty intriguing but we don't see them that much until the third act. It's disappointing if you are expecting a lot of aliens. The only things we see them do are walk in and grab kids & jump scare the audiences. We do get a really nice showdown with the Sheriff and aliens, but not nearly enough of that.
At least the action is full of great characters. The action scenes are exciting no matter how flawed they are, because we are rooting for the characters. The magic is we are rooting for the good guys and then for the bad guys but never both at the same time. The performances saved most of the film. Lee Majors looks and sounds young and carries the film perfectly and Sizemore, for a more brief appearance, is worthy of the film watch alone. I don't know what to say about the Russians, they are just hot and authentically Russian.
Hands down a very well shot film, maybe too much film and not enough wrap up..but this seems to be the trend with most films now.
While the mission may be to get the Aliens, save the earth, or defeat the Russians we find in the end the Mission From Outer Space is a mission to find the meaning of life after death.

I see no way possible of giving this movie under a 7. I read other people talking about the actors dialog being too long and I don't see that at all. I guess the story was kinda random but a lot of it made sense.
The cast was great and the acting was great. If you are looking for a Tom Cruise action film with a small home grown feel mixed with a lot of dark comedy - this is the film.
If you enjoy movies involving a Texas Town, which have been popping up, and you like sci-fi this is good for either of you. The trailers didn't give a lot away so a lot of things are discovered in the movie that you were not expecting.
All in all, the story was probably a 7/10, the acting a 9/10, and the cast a 9/10. I give this movie an 8/10 and hope to see more movies like this.

For me, '"Mission From Outer Space"' doesn't come close to its hype in the trailer.
In short, the reason for this is the lack of atmosphere. The first part shone through the certainty of the unknown. Sure, you didn't know what you were dealing with, but the whole way the eerie setup from a foreign world was staged and introduced to the viewer was brilliant. Just not a brilliant as the trailer.
The problem with some knowledge about the alien, means that the story has to be approached "differently".
The first point that bothers me are the multiple characters brought into the game. There I was actually disappointed, because I had hoped the gloomy mood from the first part is continued. But then I knew the movie would probably be a completely different one.
In the second section, aliens drift into the scene delightfully and then drift out never to be seen again which consists to a large extent only of shooting interludes.
I had a revealing experience watching this. I heard "Aliens" without considering this is not an alien film, more of a coming of age. And the script is quite good. I mean so far as the use of language, with the authentic backwoods drawl of the table talk of the abduction, the natural gruff of the Sherriff to the Russian's apparent more than real agent and play on cross over. The sister's tweaky voice against the older rebellious sister's rasp created a nice pitch against a well resolved music score.
All acting a near perfect 10.
The events really boil down to a series of missteps, and even though this band of sisters is made of tough "secret agents" sure enough, they can't seem to get along with their idea of God, but can get things done. The missteps pan out wonderfully in a collaboration of multiple endings that tie together with a common theme. I am not sure what that theme is but I was so visually taken that I am willing to go back for a second watch, when possible, to discover more.
I find this film more about life lessons and relationships and not so much on end of world entanglement.
Worth a second watch to find more about something.

It had a lot of strong characters that all meet at the end of a journey.
Fantastic effects.
Great casting.
Great writing.
One of the most fantastic developments of faith in cinema.
Just an all around really good movie.
The first act is gripping, the second is funny, very funny.
The third act closes the show perfectly.
I will say, it does have a very dark vibe - being the back drop is everyone being sad because the parents have died. The subject of aliens plays second to the Russians, who both are fantastic actors and a very striking and authentic Sheriff.
Watching Lee Majors in this film was truly the best part and he for sure surrounded himself with a lot of amazing actors.
Risks were taken with giving children so much dialogue. A risk I have never seen before in a feature and a risk that payed off.

Having seen the trailer, I was really looking forward to this movie. And now that I have seen it, I can honestly say that I wasn't disappointed.
However, the concept of the old west and aliens thrown together into one spot is not new like this film's poster may suggest, you are in for something completely different.
This is a dystopia future trapped in dysfunctional dark 80's world which while visually very appealing still does seem a bit odd to me, and takes some getting used to.
The story in "Mission from Outer Space 2037" is pretty easy to follow; two sisters find themselves without parents after a pretty realistic car wreck.
Thrown into a desperate fight against a far superior species of aliens is the sub plot to Russian cyborgs and the struggle against one's faith in God.
Absolution in the end of the protagonist Russian debacle in a showdown for supremacy, is a wonderful sub plot to the return to faith in the film's closure.

It's been a long while since I've watched an original movie. My experience tells me that the creators of this film did a pretty decent job of telling a wacky, unique story for a modern audience, while at the same time keeping the essential elements of old school action in tact. This movie features reports of strange, electromagnetic disturbances in a traditional futuristic dystopia world. In another bow to the modern context, we are placed in the future, but not to far removed from the beloved dial up phone set.
If you get a little confused trying to follow the plot, don't feel stupid. This isn't an easy story to follow but it gets high marks for keeping it interesting despite that problem.
The interesting characters, good cinematography, fun James Bond-like moments, just the right amount of action scenes keeps you interested. And one very memorable scene with Tom Sizemore is a tear jerker for sure. That scene with Sizemore will fill any Sizemore fan's heart with happiness.
Get this film a look see and you won't be let down.

There's a lot to commend Mission From Outer Space 2037. It's not often we see such a moody atmospheric thriller about an alien invasion and I will praise this movie later. However there is a lot of things happening in different directions, so if not for the comedy, I would have disengaged.
The aliens are coming. And sure enough just like everyone has predicted, lights appear over a small urban farm home in cloud formation which heralds the start of little green men coming to wipe us out. While a bit on the nose of close encounters, stormy clouds for the aliens mode of intergalactic travel, but then again how many times have we seen the flying saucer bit throughout cinema. So with that in mind we can only see this as a homage to an 80's classic instead of a repeat once again to the flying saucer bit which we don't have in this film....thankfully.
Unlike close encounters, we do get to see aliens up close and they are tall and slender, however not enough of them to satisfy my pallet.
At no point does anyone question a possible invasion which starts to become ridiculous when the film talks about it more than it is actually happening.
Let's be honest here, jet liners crashing and a very realistic car wreck was a great start and we have a slow draw in the middle sprinkled with some great dialogue and good acting. In the end, we get robbed of the alien invasion, only getting teased, but feel satisfied with plenty of strong characters making amends to fallen and broken lives.
There's one other thing: two sisters seem to be channeling the minds of Newton , Darwin and Einstein. Listen to this kid's dialogue, you won't find typical "home alone" chatter but a pendulum of very slick tongue and cheek to surprising life lessons. It's not too in your face, but far enough for one to discover and enjoy.
Make that one more point: Why would aliens invade this planet?
I guess we just assume aliens are bad.
Better make that two things, because if the subtext is about rediscovering one's faith, then did we ever get that answer?
I certainly can't fault the good bits and I will recommend this movie even to those who don't like SF/Horror very much .
Warning: If you are a person of faith you will love this film. If not, then just get over it, there is enough in the film to go around for everyone accept for the "gore and kill film lovers" those patrons best to turn towards a repeat of classic horror.

Mission From Outer Space is a classic indie attempt to be something big budget. So when I saw Mission From Outer Space I was expecting great things, which is exactly what I got. I have often seen only small bits via online clips and trailers. I have to heartily concur this film is every bit as good as the online presence - a brilliant film for a rag tag team of unknowns up against a couple legends .
The production design once again is immaculate with the spectacle surpassing expectations (to me), while the script is credible (above average), the story interesting and well-constructed, the humor is brilliant. As with spaceships don't expect much, there are also some very genuine shocks and scares, and if there was something I marginally preferred is acting over spooks. All the supporting cast do great working with the likes of Lee Majors and Sizemore. It is simply terrific and it helps expand upon what would be a wonderful story of children bantering with iconic actors into an actual interesting gritty storyline. Overall, worth a watch but don't expect more than an indie film on steroids.

"Mission from Outer Space 2037" is a film that reaches for the stars but gets caught in its own orbit. While the movie offers flashes of brilliance in its cinematography and performances, it ultimately struggles under the weight of its disjointed storytelling and overly ambitious runtime.
The biggest issue here is the storyline, which feels like it's juggling too many concepts without fully committing to any of them. Aliens, Russians, small-town drama, and a pair of young heroines all vie for attention, resulting in a narrative that's muddled and unfocused. Just when you think the plot is taking a solid direction, it veers off course. By the end, you're left wondering what the movie was truly trying to say.
Adding to the frustration is the lengthiness of the film. It overstays its welcome, with scenes that drag and subplots that could have been trimmed-or cut entirely. A tighter edit would not only improve the pacing but also help the story find its footing. At times, the movie feels like a rough draft rather than a finished product.
That said, the film isn't without its merits. The cinematography is sharp, the coloring is vibrant, and the production value is surprisingly high for an indie project. It doesn't look cheap, even if a few moments-particularly involving a very small actress-feel cheesy and disconnected from the otherwise polished visuals.
The acting also saves the film from completely falling apart. Lee Majors shines, delivering sharp and endearing moments, particularly in his interactions with the young lead actress. His gravitas brings a much-needed anchor to the chaos. Tom Sizemore's cameo is a pleasant surprise, adding a touch of nostalgia to the mix.
The Russians deserve a special mention. They are not only believable, but also compelling, bringing chemistry and intrigue to a film that often feels scattered and a subtle "eye candy" to the story. The two young protagonists also bring heart to the story, forming an emotional core that stands out amidst the chaos. When paired with the sheriff-a grounded and convincing performance-they provide some of the film's most memorable moments.
Still, these bright spots aren't enough to mask the missed beats. The film seems unsure of what it wants to be: a sci-fi thriller, a small-town drama, or a character study. By trying to be all of these at once, it dilutes the impact of each.
In conclusion, "Mission from Outer Space 2037" is a mixed experience. It has potential, but its missed beats, meandering storyline, and excessive runtime hold it back. That said, it's still leagues better than some of the duds you'd find on Netflix or Hulu. With its strong visuals and standout performances from Majors, Sizemore, and the Russians, it's worth a watch-just don't go in expecting a masterpiece...

A movie with this title that delivers zero amount of fun really has to be considered a failure. The concept starts out more than fine, but almost every scene that goes by peels away too fast. Uncomfortable layers of the film slowly degenerate into what would appear to be an unpleasant time at the cinema. However, we end up needing the uncomfortableness to find repair in the end.
How did they end up doing this concept with Lee Majors?
Because it's completely unlike anything out there, while at the same time, a lot like what's out there. However, it is completely a mash up of perfect nonsense that is both lovable and engaging.
Both leads start off as genuinely likable characters.
The young Russian couple soon turns dark once their child's something or other is in danger. As they move through the film, they slowly find redemption and win over the audience.
By that time, as mentioned, the movie itself fizzles in the middle it then ramps up at the end. Death and semi-horror in hopes that something sticks, it does. Overall, this is a mess of a movie that somehow glues together a story of three different lives all tied together in the end. Maybe an end too long, maybe not. Sisterhood prevails in the wake of a small town goateed Sheriff who finds love with a horse in hand and some flowers.
