This showed up on my Netflix feed randomly and started playing part of a scene and then jumped into the first episode...next thing I knew I was 30 min in and suddenly captivated by the show.
It portrays the life of young women and how they are subject to sexual assaults and degraded by men and looked as an object. Many scenes make you feel uncomfortable and feel the fear they felt in certain moments/situations.
As a women I can totally relate to walking home alone or standing at a bus stop with only one other person, or having someone walking to close to you of the opposite sex. That constant fear of never feeling 100% safe is something that women will always fear. Always needing to be always alert of our surroundings and avoiding putting ourselves in dangerous situations.
I have never watched international shows until recently because I cant stand reading subtitles and dubbed always felt weird. But I did watch it dubbed and although some of the chosen voices for the parents were maybe not the greatest match I think that the main actresses were a got fit for the dubbed voices and they did an amazing job acting. You really felt everything they were feeling!
I am surprised there are hardly any reviews, this was a good watch. You will route for these girls.

I don't like the way you normalize minors smoking cigarette. Completely useless for the narrative
Great show but it bother me a lot! Parents aren't intervening like it's not a issue. Wtf
Portraying smoking, drinking and taking drugs like it is the way to go, like it is the way to have fun for teens, it's a major problem in movies and tv shows.
I wish we could ban seeing minor smoking cigarettes in tv and that we could see the real effect of alcohol on our body and minds. (Not only hungover, but dark thought, depression, anger)....
Like the main character and wish dubbing in English was better.

No pun intended here - we do watch and experience things as ourselves ... we are supposed to have empathy. Which distinguishes us from animals ... but there is more that makes us different. Humans can be quite evil and menacing ... in a very planned way.
That all said, the show is really well crafted. It may be or feel a bit long, especially with the first twist of the show (which I think almost can be called a red herring - it does play a role later on, but not to the degree we may think when we first watch it).
Acting is top notch and the show really challenges you. What to believe? Who to believe? What are your values and what do you think happened? Even heroes are not without flaws ... without making mistakes ... some are quite costly ... but you can't blame them (her) ... if there is doubt, you do want to question, especially demeanor wise ... this really depicts greatly what teenage girls and boys go through. More the former than the latter - and it is important to see that.

This was a suggestion from Netflix to watch. Generally I don t like dubbed shows but still gave it a go as the subject intrigued me.
Story is about a young girl being raped - or wasn t she? And by who? And were there others? How thin is the line if you don t say clearly no? And what if you are so drunk / druged that you can t say no anymore?
The story line turns around the main character Alma and her friends and things they go through in high school life with social media and sexual experimentation. It has a lot of good twists and turns snd keeps you interested and guessing until the very end!
I fully enjoyed this show as a grown up snd can only recommend!

I loved the series and watched it in two evenings
The cast is great, I liked Alma, Greta, Nata and Berta and rooted for all of them
The issues they raise in this show are really important and I loved the nuanced portrayal of the story
I am also glad that parents of Alma behaved the way they did in the series, being a parent of a brave feminist teenage daughter can be a challenge!
I cried a bit here and there and I will miss these girls, I would love to spend more time with them The ending makes you feel warm (and cry again:) I will recommend this series to all my friends who have daughters to watch it together with them for sure.

Every scene in this series is based on a cliché. The characters are caricatures, and they also present a caricature of society. The social and political commitment of the production is more important than the seriousness of the script. It is more of the same, reiterating the approach of Spanish series from the last decade, which no longer have much to offer. If the situation the series aims to denounce is common (hence the relevance of the denunciation), it would have been better to base it on a real event rather than the mediocre invention of a writer. Miguel Sáez Carral once again offers something as mediocre as 'Sin tetas no hay paraíso.' On the other hand, while trying to raise awareness about sexual abuse, it trivializes the consumption of all kinds of substances.

Raising Voices is a great series that covers various tough and incredibly important subjects in a gracious way. The eight-part series covers consent, various types of sexual assault/violence, grooming, mental health, suicide, bullying, women's rights, and more.
The storylines and acting are excellent, but what really caught my attention is the cinematography. The camera movements and the way this series is shot are fantastic. I especially love the end of every episode; after the characters walk out of frame, and there's seemingly nothing happening, the scene and the sounds evoke deep emotions. I suppose that's what art is supposed to do.
Sea feminista.

I was pleasantly surprised by the flawless performances of the actors and actresses in this series. It felt as if they were all close friends in real life, as I don't believe such natural chemistry could be achieved otherwise. Each character has a unique personality, and these are portrayed in a very believable and nuanced way. The story is realistic, without any clichés, pretense, or forced toughness. The atmosphere feels so authentic that it almost stands apart from anything else I've ever seen. Rarely do I come across a series that feels this genuine, where every element works seamlessly together to create a truly engaging experience. It's a refreshing piece of television that captures both the depth of its characters and the authenticity of its story, making it a standout among other series.

Had this in my watchlist for months, but was never motivated to watch, due to the ordinary cover. (didn't seem exciting) A friend came across it and showed me her new crush in the series and I got intrigued. (She became my crush too, she is perfect, literally can't say anything bad about Greta) I enjoyed every second of the series, starting with Billie Eilish's song in the very start. Everytime I finish an episode, it feels like I've seen so much, but there are still episodes left, which makes me glad because I love the story. It has some connections and twists that I really enjoyed as the audience.
Everything is so well done. Amazing shots, fascinating storyline/storytelling, and I loved the character (Greta and Alma) development. I was also very impressed by the acting.
My favorite part of this was the girls' friendship, they are so sweet and loyal and goals. Also, it has queerness in it, which we all love.

Initially, the series presents a captivating premise that promises to engage viewers in an exhilarating marathon. Unfortunately, after the third of its eight episodes, it devolves into a repetitive cycle of events and character clichés that undermine the entire plot.
The depiction of sexual assault (SA) and male mistreatment is heavy-handed, with every male character portrayed negatively. This leads to a sense of monotony by the fourth episode, making it easy for viewers to lose interest.
Furthermore, the notion that 'sorority' alone can conquer all malevolent intentions creates an unrealistic and implausible scenario, making it difficult for viewers to become fully immersed in the story.
One of the series' strong points is the chemistry between the female protagonist and her two or three co-protagonists. However, this strength is overshadowed by the simplistic notion that a noble cause can mend a broken friendship.
Finally, it's worth noting that, despite the potential to develop a richer plot and atmosphere, no male character is given the opportunity to showcase strong acting from beginning to end. This imbalance detracts from the overall quality of the series.
