Adele’s Oprah Winfrey Interview Proved She’s in Control of Her Own Narrative
Image
It took almost the entirety of Oprah Winfrey’s interview for her to inspire a tear in Adele’s eye, but Adele still refused to let it drop. “Oh, no!” the singer cried, wagging a finger at the legendary host with the kind of fond chiding you throw a friend’s way after they lure you into deeper emotional waters than expected. “You’re not going to make me cry!” Winfrey, an expert at steering conversations in and out of catharsis, threw up her hands in mock “who, me?” innocence. Soon enough, she was wrapping the interview with her fondest wishes, having never truly cracked her subject’s self-aware composure.

This isn’t to say that Adele, reemerging with a new album after spending years out of the public eye, didn’t open up at all during this “One Night Only” special. In both the interview, conducted in a lush...

Muriel Wimmer in Little Thirteen (2012)
Rumor has it Adele was dressed to the nines at the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks game on Saturday, July 17. Scratch that, it's simply a fact.  In a photo obtained by E! News, the "When We Were Young" singer showed up to the NBA Finals game in a chic outfit, wearing a black top, black leggings, an oversized patterned coat and black heels. She wore her blonde hair straight down and accessorized with gold jewelry and a black face mask. Adele topped her look off with a French manicure. As for the game, which took place in the Suns' city? Well, it didn't go too hot in the home team's favor. The Bucks won, scoring 123, versus the Suns' 119. Currently, the Bucks are...

Will Casey Bishop win ‘American Idol’ after shocking elimination of Arthur Gunn?
Image
“American Idol” is down to the Top 5 after Sunday’s night show ended with the shocking elimination of Arthur Gunn and Hunter Metts. Gunn, who was the season 18 runner-up last year, had been a last-minute addition to the show. He won the Comeback Special on April 19 and then sailed through the Top 10 on May 2.

Heading into the Top 7 show on May 9, Gunn was in the top three of our “American Idol” winner predictions. But his reworked cover of the Coldplay classic “In My Place” and his Mother’s Day tribute, “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, just didn’t resonate with viewers. Also ousted was Hunter Metts, who sang the Coldplay tune “Everglow” as well as his original song “The River.”

With Gunn gone, the season 19 competition is now wide-open according to our poll of “American Idol” viewers. Coming off her red-hot performances on Sunday,...
