Another Hansal Mehta series! The story revolves around Pirates of Somalia hijacking a navy ship. It starts with an evil plan of an ambitious man to succeed leading to the hijack of the ship and eventually his own greediness ruins him off with everything. Does have about 8 series with an average time of 40 mins each. Series doesn't bore for sure but it's quite messed up though with too many sub plots. But showcases the intricacies of crew men, pirates of Somalia, inter continental politics etc making plot look realistic. However, ending was so bad that it ruined the entire series. Had a real potential of being an impactful hijack drama but misses out due to lengthier dragged execution. Available in all South Indian languages including Hindi in Disney Hotstar. My ratings 6/10!

First frame ....first background score and you are HOOKED !
Marvel the vision and the execution of the series , little or none has been showcased about the commerce and complex web of the ocean businesses.
Refreshing , edgy and extremely entertaining. One also gets to learn the tough jobs of the men at sea and the exhausting , unnerving negotiations in every vertical of the industry
And let's not forget to talk about the acting prowess exuded by all actors ; simply realistic and relatable ,in your face characters !
Splendid , power packed performances , tight narrative .
It's GOLD which shows !

This show is a refreshing change to the Indian web series landscape due to its originality and solid filmmaking. Only three episodes have been released and I am loving the show so far. The show has great direction, production, and acting. An impressive debut by Jai Mehta. Glad to see Vivek Gomber getting his due. Rajat Kapoor is fantastic as always. Glad to see Varin Roopani after school of lies (kid has talent!). The other supporting actors have done a great job and the writing helps prevent them from feeling like caricatures. Definitely watch this show if you are looking for a gripping and entertaining show that will have you at the edge of your seat.

As a veteran Mariner myself who has sailed in Somalian waters multiple times, I can vouch for the authenticity of the story...
Kudos to the Director & Producers who amassed the courage to put up a show of such a high calibre & especially in Hindi...
Hindi Entertainment Industry is indeed maturing for the better & Hindi audience need to shown stories like this...
I am overlooking some parts of over dramatisation but overall the cinematography captures the essence of the story...
Highly recommended to everyone but try not to watch this Webseries with your Kids...
Superb performance by whole team...

Lootere embarks with a flourish of excitement and promise, capturing your interest right from the start. However, the charm quickly diminishes as the series progresses beyond episode three. This decline in appeal is courtesy an overabundance of story elements and a poorly strategized release schedule of one episode per week.
The show's pacing becomes erratic, leaving the narrative feeling disjointed and hard to follow. Instead of focusing on a cohesive plot, the series loses itself in a maze of too many characters and superfluous subplots. One particularly uninteresting storyline involves Vivek Gomber's character's wife and the annoying son as she searches for a boy who is friends with her son. This subplot not only feels unnecessary but also lacks believability, further detracted by the characters' irritating portrayals.
Despite these narrative missteps, the series does boast some strong performances. The acting prowess of the cast, particularly the ever-reliable Rajat Kapoor, shines through, albeit they are let down by a lackluster script that fails to support their talents and is wasted. Vivek Gomber, however, does not seem to fit well in his role, which may be more a reflection of the script's shortcomings than his acting abilities.
By the time episode six rolls around, any initial enthusiasm has turned into exhaustion and annoyance. The momentum necessary to sustain interest in a weekly episodic release just isn't there. The series had the potential to be a gripping heist drama but instead feels like a hijack gone wrong-too many elements pulling in different directions without arriving anywhere satisfying.

Lootere is an action crime series directed by jai mehta.
One of the strongest points of the serues is its steady hold on its narrative. The events take its time, the politics come into light and the writing keeps a track of the events.
The actors have done a splendid job. Starting from rajat kapoor and chandan roy sanyal to the african actors. Martial batchamen tchana as barkhad will interest you with his demeanor. He did a fabulous job. The other actors too were superb. Vivek gomber, though looked a fish out of water to me. His bursts of frustration seemed artificial. However, he got better as the series went on. But there was a layer of rust in his portrayal.
The film explores the political landscape of somalia pretty well, the dealings of terrorist organizations and its linkage with politics is also dealt with subtlety. The background music is terrific, of course when done by achint thakkar, the man behind the riveting score of scam 1992. There are some subplots which take time and test your patience, but once invested it keeps you engaged.

This is one of the best Indian webseries in the recent year to come out so far.
The story revolves around a ship being hijacked by Pirates and the story unfolds from there. Being set in Africa, the acting and depiction and coverage of Africa is superb. Each episode has a lot of drama, action and masala!
The direction, visualizaton and production is top notch.
The whole series is filled with twists and turns and you will be hooked on from the first episode.
The acting of Vikrant Gandhi played by Vivek Gomber, and all the Somalian actors is too good.
This is a must watch series! Can't wait for Season 2.

Wow .. what a series it was. It engaged me from start to end. I just give rating in IMDb and don't write review but this show really surprised me. Specially acting of each and every actor is good. I thought it is a first show of Jay Mehta as a director, so he will not be like his father. It will take time for him to learn slowly slowly but his direction is like Hollywood level. He has a different view than his father in direction. I will expect more shows like this from him. I will expect 2nd season of this show should come. Just waiting for it. Character development is also good. You will feel for most of the character. Just one thing you can not watch this show with kids due to some brutal moments.

Boring movie .. slow screen play..I don't want to watch this movie...This film did not go well..Pls don't waste your time & Mp ...The character in this film does not stick in anyone's mind. I also downloaded this movie after watching all the videos on YouTube..but I didn't expect this movie to be of this level...Imd has rated this movie 7 but this movie is not that good...the dubbing of this movie is not good at all...this movie is not as good as everyone says..Please, I humbly request anyone not to waste your time and MB by downloading this movie after watching it on youtube...The day I was told that I wanted 600 words, I had to make such a big comment.
The direction matches hollywood movies. It is very much superior to bollywood movies and other web serieses. Acting is very good from all the characters. Background music is awesome and make the scenes impactful. So called bollywood directors shoukd learn on how to direct a movie from this series. Videography and strory plot is very good. Story could have been better but still very good. Waiting for next season. It requires lots of efforts and money to make such series. I recommed this one for watch. Indian cinema industry should make more of such series and movies instead of so called brainless romantic and feminist movies.
Good things first- The opening title and the background music is top notch and pleasure to the eyes as well as ears. The film set was authentic and good. Rajat kapoor outshines the season.
Thats all for the good, rest everything is bad, no depth in the story, anyone killing anyone for no reason with no background to it.
This story could have easily be told in 3 episode. Why the hell is Mudit hanging on the rope? Why? Everyone in the story is a turncoat, wtf.
Maha overacting by the protagonist, angry for no reason at all. Story does not feel a smooth flow at all, you will keep hitting these block as in 'now why is this happening' , n then 'what, why, how?'. Pathetic storytelling. I watched it because of that Samay Raina podcast and Hansal sir's stamp .
Jai really need to learn a lot from his dad.

I am blown away after watching Lootere. What a gripping story right from the first episode. Now I am in love with Somalian music and the Somalian English ascent . The title track no doubt is now my ringtone.
Watched it over the weekend . All characters are choosen so wisely. They perfectly fit into their respective roles.
Rajat Kapoor no doubt is a great actor but Vivek Gomber as Vikrant Gandhi , man that guy is a gem of an actor. He should get more series. Just in love with him.
Amrita Khanvilkar and Chandan Sanyal have done their part well. Though they have a short screen presence but have lot of impact on the story.
Waiting for the next season and many more. Seems Somalian is a very different world with its own set of issue and this series raises your curiosity to know more about the Somalian Civil war.

I don't know why rating is low but this show is ten on ten for me, from the very first episode story grabs you into there world, very good acting too.mover all a action packed survival and adventure webseries. I have kept this webseries in my watch list but didn't ever watch it because of its low rating but after watching it I found it too good for a person who likes adventure and pirate type webseries. It has 8 episode and none of them is boring. Also to mention the title track is also very catchy. The survival game is too intense and it will feel you as you are there. So watch it and give it rating according your will.
