It's fascinating to witness how the unexpected lockdown, forcing people to maintain distance, creates hurdles for Jaan and Tora, hindering their aspirations and even straining their relationship.

Proud to be a part of screening the Assamese movie "Tora's husband" in the San Francisco bay area. It is beautifully directed by oscar nominated film director Rima Das. Throughout the film you can see the uniqueness and the beauty of her direction. She was able to put together so many messages in a very natural and subtle way using common scenes from rural and urban Assam.

You can feel the mental struggle of Jan, a middle aged father of two, who in spite of being a compassionate man and trying to help everyone around him has to live with the fact that his wife thinks "he is a good man but a bad husband". I like how Rima Das was portraying that the husband has to live in separate worlds and the difficulty faced by him in balancing his attention among all these worlds - The world of the community, the world with his kids, the world with his workers, The world with his friends, the world with his mother and sister and the world with his wife . And his addiction to alcoholism, which by the way is a real problem not only in Assam but in entire India, is not helping him either. I like the part where he being a champion athlete and a mentally strong person helping everyone in need was telling his mother, his sister and wife that he too needs help and support from the women in his life .

Tora's Husband, a film which welcomes you into the world of Tora, a few minutes into the film you become part of their family, you understand the feeling of a father who has been trying hard to provide for his family and a businessman who cares for his employees. On other hand, Tora tirelessly tries to keep the family together. It's interesting to see how the the unexpected lockdown, where people had to keep a distance from each other distances Jaan and Tora from their goals and from each other.

Tora's husband film is like a flowing river, every wave brings you drama, togetherness, love and happiness.

Guys must watch the movie, you are not going to disappoint.

This marvel created by Rima Das is an excellent work of cinema! The film accurately depicts a tiny family's real-life experiences during the pandemic crisis. Jaan, the main character, is a sensitive and expressive individual. He is concerned about his mother, wife, children, employees, beloved dog, and needy. The director shows all of the hardships and problems encountered throughout the pandemic in a thoughtful manner. The entrepreneur devastated by the lockdown is a character whom Abhijit Das brilliantly brings to life and it takes a strong shock to snap back to reality.

I just had the pleasure of seeing this incredible film directed by Rima Das that captures the struggles of a family trying to cope with the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The protagonist, Jaan, is truly heartfelt and caring, and the director skillfully portrays the family's hardships in a profound and sensitive way. Abhijit Das delivers an outstanding performance as the COVID-affected entrepreneur, leaving a lasting impact on the viewer. The film completely immerses you and serves as a powerful reminder of the reality we all face. Hats off to the entire team!
