This movie is like a roller coaster ride, you shout ,you scream but you enjoy the ride and similarly here you are frightened, you are scared still you continue to watch because you start enjoying the movie. Yes your heart starts racing fast right from the beginning of the movie. Based on real story or can say inspired from real story this movie tried to show all actual facts. Vikrant Massey is a talented actor and here I can say he did his best of his career. Deepak Dobriyal and Vikrant Massey both did an excellent job. As it's based on real story and most of the audience knows about it but still the impact of the movie is such that you watch with sincerety and of course wait for the next scene. It can give goosebumps to anyone who watches this movie. In the end it was like"dil mange more"
Loved it as I was both scared and enjoyed while watching the movie.
Movie is good but could be more detailed.
Nithari case is huge & unfortunate and could not be told in a 2 hours' movie.
A limited series shall be launched on this case.
Movie is dark and will make you stick to the screen.
Casting is perfect.
Both, Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal have done justice with their roles.
In real life, both the culprits of the crime have been released from the jail due to the lack of evidence.
Though, the movie is only inspired by the true events and is a work of fiction (that's what they say in their disclaimer).
Movie somewhat showcased the politics between judiciary and police.

Loosely taking references from the infamous nithari horror case , it was a DELIGHT to watch the film.
Nothing can engross you more than a set of good actors justifying their characters.
This film is a masterclass in Realism .
Dark underbelly of crimes against children / vulnerable immigrants who have little or no rights , frustration of not getting justice , power perplexities and the great divide in society ....no issue has been left out.
The film does leave you with more questions and a sense of despair .....but that's the whole point.
The viewer does get compelled to think
Vikrant messi's all blossomed and deepak dobriyal simply SHINE.

The movie was okay but I felt the ending was missing, they could have added more information in the end or could have had a better ending to the story.
In the first half of the movie around 15-20 mins, it was holding me there completely but after that, I felt it was stretching the story.
I liked the acting of Vikrant Massey and I admire him for all the hard work he puts into the movies to make them perfect but personally, I don't wanna see him doing this kind of movie after watching great role/acting in his in all movies like 12th fail, Forensic, Broken , Hasin Dilrubba, Love Hostel, and Chappak.
I had expected more from this movie but it was average for me.

Sector 36 is a compelling cinematic experience that excels in several key areas. The film's cinematography and overall filmmaking are notably impressive, creating a visually engaging and polished final product. The cast delivers strong performances, with Deepak Dobariyal standing out for his extraordinary portrayal, which many consider a career-defining role.
Vikrant Massey plays a cunning character who, while not embodying the traditional traits of a criminal, offers a satisfying performance that adds to the film's intrigue. The film's pacing and narrative structure are well-crafted, delivering key plot points and twists at just the right moments.
The film also benefits from Netflix's commitment to quality content, as evidenced by its effective use of budget and resources. Symbolic scenes, such as the cockroach being crushed and the reel Ravan chasing the real Ravan, are particularly noteworthy for their depth and creativity. Overall, Sector 36 is a strong entry in its genre, deserving of a high rating and recognition for its impressive execution.

Sector 36" delivers a chilling portrayal of the infamous Nithari serial murders, capturing the darkest aspects of human nature. Vikrant Massey's performance as the psychopathic killer is both unsettling and captivating, while Deepak Dobriyal shines as a dedicated cop battling corruption.
The film maintains a gripping, suspense-filled narrative, masterfully balancing horror and investigation. Its dark cinematography enhances the bleak themes, creating an intense viewing experience.
Not for the faint-hearted, but a must-watch for those who can handle its raw exploration of violence and corruption.
Rating: 4.5/5 Recommendation: Watch if you can stomach disturbing content.

Slow paced. Actually well paced and directed. Dob and massey carried with their extreme performances and diverse acting skills. Loved the fact that it never always has to end good although they gave hope. Great violent and gory scenes. Loved the relationships showed among characters and their inter relation apart from families as well. Inclusion of Theatre work was well placed here. Amazing soundtrack that really portrays mystery horror anxiety and gives certain tunes of hope as well. This movie also shows the dark and good side of our police department. All and all amazing experience which really makes you wanna sit back and think.

When I think about Indian cinema I immediately imagine some Bollywood production, expecting very colourful scenes and crazy but also annoying dance routines. I mean that's most of the time the case with movies from there but with Sector 36 they came with something different, something decent for once. It's about a serial killer, one who preys on victims from the lower classes. And although the castes system in India shouldn't be discriminatory anymore by now, at least by law, it's still very present over there and that they made very clear in this movie. Some reviewers wrote it was sometimes hard to watch but I thought it was pretty mild. Maybe the story is harsh but the graphics were just mild and not really shocking. Good story, decent acting, never boring, so in short certainly worth a watch.

Wow, I would never had thought I would watch an Indian movie and be so impressed. And to give it top marks too. On show here is truly one of those serial killer movies that comes along once in awhile and just sticks the landing perfectly. This stands alongside Seven, Zodiac, Silence of the lambs and Henry:portrait of a serial killer. The performances on show here are top notch. The script and direction on fire. We are introduced to not just the principal characters but are also immersed into the gritty culture and corruption that play in the backdrop of this movie. Aditya Nimbalkar has woven a brilliant fictional account of the truly heartbreaking true story of the children killed by this serial killer whilst being hunted by the determined once corrupt cop. Both Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal shine with brilliant performances. Trust me. This movie will hook you in, make you angry and leave you with many unanswered questions. But trust me when I say this, this movie is brilliant.

Tone, Script & Story: The story is about children going missing in sector 36 and nearby areas in Delhi.
As shown in the trailer, there is no search for the culprit. It is established since the beginning who it is.
What grabs ones attention is the way how culprit confesses? He has no shame. He is insane and fearless.
The crime involves killing, chopping, consuming, selling organs of innocent individuals. The crime against about 25 people is confessed most of them being children.
The movie is depressing. The culprit has his associate among some bigger name. Despite the confession the culprits are set loose. Further into the investigation an officer is killed additionally. It happens because of involvement of men in power. We can see his missing poster as well.
Acting: Acting from all of the cast is executed well. After 12th fail Vikrant Massey's performance is worth mentioning.
Final Verdict: I wanted a positive ending. The movie is inspired from true events. What are makers trying to convey? Is the horror still existing? I will say watch it if u can accept negative ending and for the captured confession.

I recently watched this film, expecting a gripping crime thriller, but instead found myself deeply unsettled. The portrayal of crime and child abuse felt gratuitous and lacking sensitivity. Rather than contributing to a meaningful narrative, it seemed designed solely to shock, leaving viewers feeling more disturbed than engaged. The characters were underdeveloped, and the storyline was predictable, relying on cliches rather than genuine storytelling. It's disappointing when a film with such serious themes fails to handle them with the care they deserve. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for an impactful cinematic experience.

In the context of today's Indian Movie or Web Series the term "based on a real-story" has been used repeatedly in recent years. There is nothing wrong in dramatizing a real story to make a film. If films are reflections of society in a given time, it means every film tries to delineate the same in some form or other. If there is only copy cut of a real story that means compromising with creativity. Obviously, projecting reality in a film needs craftsmanship. But that reality can never be just narrating an event with celluloid glittering. Another term that Indian cinema is using repeatedly is "psycho" or "psychopath". Shakespeare's contemporary Ben Johnson identified mental state as "Humour". In Elizabethan England meaning of "humour" was different. It means certain trait of characters that provides uniqueness to every individual. Ben Johnson's humour proves that psycho or psychopath does not specify a certain sector rather it is the reality with ever individual. Psycho is ever present in all. But as today's films use the term psycho and connect it with crime are wrong approaches. But it is natural that a film will try to project what people want to watch.
As crime thriller has attained larger popularity in India, several films have been made on this. Sector 36 released in 2024 is another one. However, Sector 36 falls in the category of "Serial Killing" a different dimension of crime. Serial killing or such mindless slaughtering of the innocents is done because of whim, revenge, superstition and such others happen because of a perverted mentality. But Serial killing can never be characterized as psycho. This will be defaming human emotions. If all are psychos, why only serial killers be attributed with this?
As was expected, Sector 36 has not disappointed the viewers. However, the story of Sector 36 is nothing new. This is bound to happen if a writer throws away creativity while writing film-script and narrates a story just to create sensation. Like other films, Sector 36 suffers from the same ailment. Only celluloid sensation of crime and killing can never be a film script. Naturally, the plot seems swimming with the tide.
Here in such film character building a virtual non-entity. But this is true that despite melodrama, the actors have really performed well. But Vickram Messey does not seem a right choice. Question is not Messey's potentiality. Rather the question is presenting character in a befitting manner.
On the whole, Sector 36 is another addition of Crime Thriller in Bollywood. But is it justified to use a theme repeatedly? The viewers will enjoy watching this. But my apprehension is losing relevance and acceptability of a theme in certain theme. Indian Cinema must see Crime Thriller in Larger Perspective.

What a remarkable story! The film dives deep into the dark side of society, exposing how the rich and powerful manipulate the world like their own little playground. Hats off to the main lead actors-what a casting! Vikrant Massey, in a chilling negative role, absolutely smashes it out of the park. His portrayal of 'Prem' left me shivering with the sheer intensity of his character's twisted mentality. And what can I say about Deepak Dobriyal? He matches Massey's brilliance, delivering an equally gripping performance. The chemistry between them is electric, making the tension throughout the movie palpable.
The story has a raw, compelling edge that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Its ending, which may surprise many Indian viewers, is a brave twist that elevates the film to a whole new level. A truly exceptional experience that lingers long after the credits roll. Soothing yet disturbing-this is a masterpiece of modern cinema!

The plot of the movie is strong, it started strong. It holds your attention.
But somehow loses its grip. I think they could have re-written the storyline and make it more thriller, there are many plot holes. They wanted to show how corrupted police officers are but missed out on few things. They easily captured the culprit, Culprit told the police easily of his crimes. Okay that is fine as if they were showing how pyscho he is but I haven't seen any particular reaction I mean he murdered children, you could have shown some anger towards him, Also the corrupt policemen were acting as if they are playing a game and everything is so easy, to ignore the crimes as if they know what is going on. You could have involve more police work, some compassion towards the people lost their Childrens. But it's just a movie. You see, you move on.

What an absolute masterpiece. I usually never write reviews but this movie is absolutely insane. The writing is outstanding. And what a brilliant performance by Vikrant massey and Deepak dobriyal. They shown their craft here.
For the first time while watching movie i never touched my phone. Usually it never happens. This is what you called a cinema.
Dont watch it if you cant take a psychopath serial killer thriller. But if you are fan of good thriller cinemas this movie is for you.
Honestly this is finest thriller movie ever made in india. Take a bow to the directors, producers and the actors. You all did it.

A very creepy n disturbing movie based on real incidents. Story revolves around true incidents of Nithari killings that took place between 2005 n 2006 wherein a servant along with his master kidnapped 25+ children, raped, cut in into pieces n organs sold. This movie had immense opportunity to make the execution very thrilling n frightening. However yet, it will keep one engaged throughout. Disturbing to know so many spooky people around n feels ashamed to know the real picture of our law n governance. Vikrant messy has done a decent job. Available in Netflix in all languages. My ratings 7/10!!

Sector 36 is a masterful thriller that delivers a tense, edge-of-your-seat experience. The film thrives on its intense storytelling, brilliant direction, and stellar performances. Right from the beginning, you're pulled into the world of crime, corruption, and investigation with an authenticity that's hard to shake off.
The story revolves around a high-stakes police investigation into a series of gruesome crimes. What sets this film apart is how it balances raw action with psychological depth, making you care about the characters while keeping you guessing till the very end. The twists are clever, never feeling forced or unnecessary, and the pacing is spot on, with hardly a dull moment.
The performances are another highlight. The lead actors deliver compelling portrayals, bringing complexity and humanity to their roles. Their chemistry and tension create a perfect dynamic for a film like this, where trust and betrayal are constantly at play. The supporting cast also adds depth to the story, with each character contributing something crucial to the plot.
Cinematography and sound design deserve special mention too, as both elevate the tension and mood of the film. The visuals capture the gritty atmosphere of the story, while the score intensifies the emotions at just the right moments.
The only reason this isn't a perfect 10/10 is because a few scenes feel slightly rushed or could have used more development to add to the emotional depth. However, this is a minor gripe in an otherwise outstanding film.
If you're a fan of crime thrillers with sharp storytelling and memorable performances, Sector 36 is an absolute must-watch!

Sector 36, available on Netflix, stars Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal in a gripping crime thriller directed by Aditya Nimbalkar. Based on true events, it follows a police officer unraveling the disturbing mystery of missing children in a slum, facing a ruthless serial killer.
While some fans might hesitate to see Vikrant in a negative role, he's on a mission to prove his versatility, delivering a natural performance. Deepak Dobriyal, famous for his comic role in Tanu Weds Manu, effectively transforms into an intense investigating officer. The film's dark theme will make you reflect on the corruption within the system, and it doesn't promise a happy ending.
From my side, this thriller earns a solid 6.5 stars.

Sector 36 is an absolutely brilliant film, masterfully crafted from start to finish. Even the smaller characters, like the deputy inspectors with minor roles, shine through with incredible performances. This is, without a doubt, one of the best movies to come out of India. I initially watched it because of the main actor's impressive performance in Mirzapur, and he does not disappoint here-he's exceptionally talented. Every aspect of the movie kept me engaged, and I'm usually not one to stay focused for an entire film unless it's truly excellent. I didn't want it to end! I'm so glad it was released on Netflix today, and I was able to watch it right away. While I expected it to be good, I never imagined it would reach the level of films like Korea's Memories of Murder. We need more movies like this-gritty, realistic, and utterly captivating.

"Sector 36" delivers a chilling and suspenseful experience, drawing inspiration from real-life events to create a narrative that is both shocking and captivating. The film's exploration of a dark and disturbing subject matter keeps you on the edge of your seat, while its fresh perspective on a familiar genre sets it apart from other crime thrillers.
Vikrant Massey's portrayal of a complex and sinister character is truly haunting, leaving a lasting impression long after the credits roll. Deepak Dobriyal's performance as the determined police officer adds another layer of intensity to the narrative.
The film's unflinching portrayal of the crimes and their impact on the community is both harrowing and thought-provoking. It forces viewers to confront the uncomfortable reality of evil lurking within society.
While the subject matter may be difficult to stomach for some, "Sector 36" is powerful and its ability to shock and thrill while shedding light on important social issues makes it a truly unique and impactful viewing movie experience.

I was disappointed with the movie. It had numerous loopholes. Vikrant Massey, as an actor, is talented, but he failed to justify his character. Typically, a character like that would evoke fear and unease, but Vikrant's portrayal lacked that impact.
Furthermore, I struggled to understand the director's message or point. It seemed like a typical, formulaic film designed to engage the audience without providing genuine substance. People might praise it, but I believe many won't genuinely appreciate it. Felt like a swallow attempt to engage the audience. Disappointing endinggg. I'd rate this movie 3/10.

- 'Sector 36' directed by Aditya Nimbalkar starring Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal is a decent psychopath investigation film with the performances of both being the main highlight of the film. Vikrant Massey was outstanding in the film , whenever he came on screen I was immediately engrossed. Deepak Dobriyal has also done a great job but it was Vikrant who absolutely stole the show and props to him for choosing to play such a character and with such ease. The film from a technical standpoint is great with Saurabh Goswami's cinematography being really great. The director Aditya Nimbalkar has done a great job with the detailing and overall look of the film. The frames were always moving and the film itself was engaging. Overall , it's a decent film with the stellar performances of Vikrant and Deepak Dobriyal being the standout. Decent.

"Sector 36" had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Loosely based on the horrifying Nithari killings, the film takes a deep dive into a world of dark crimes, corrupt systems, and unanswered questions. Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal deliver powerful performances that elevate this thriller to another level. The film does a fantastic job of maintaining suspense and building tension without losing its grip on realism.
The pacing is just right, allowing the intensity to build gradually, while the plot twists keep you hooked. I especially appreciated how the film doesn't shy away from showing the brutal reality of crime and corruption, making the viewer think long after the credits roll. Massey and Dobriyal shine in their roles, making their characters both relatable and terrifying at the same time.
The grim setting, solid direction, and haunting soundtrack all come together to create an unforgettable experience. "Sector 36" isn't just about thrills-it's about leaving the audience with questions and a sense of unease. For fans of gritty, realistic thrillers, this is a must-watch.

Netflix dropped a "true-crime" movie loosely based the 2006 Nithari Killings in Noida, starring Vikrant Massey as the bad guy. A very interesting choice by someone who's on an upward trajectory, not sure if anyone else would have chosen to play this role at this stage of their career; I suppose the idea was, "I can show some range!" and boy does he show range. Him and Deepak Dobriyal, who plays the cop, knock it out the park in the very disturbing story, portrayed in a dark manner.
The film isn't like your typical crime thriller but expect this film to keep you glued to the tv regardless. It also raises several questions about the criminal justice system and the role that the police force plays. Not sure if the lack of answers is a minus against the movie or for the viewers to answer, but in reading up about the case, I was like, "Whoa this...is crazy!"
Since the film is adapted, the story takes some liberties to explore paths that probably didn't happen in real life and I don't know if that was done to add cinematic value, especially towards the end of the film. Not sure if the film would felt extra dark and heavy if it weren't for these liberties. Regardless, I'd totally recommend this film. Don't watch it with kids around. Probably not for the faint hearted either.
