Roschdy Zem is obviously inspired by Claude Sautet's cinema in the atmosphere of this drama. An accurate character study among a family. And he was also inspired by his own family, personal experience, with a brother of his who suffered from a major skull trauma. That's not the first time that Samy Bouajila and Roschdy Zem play together in a film: remember HORS LA LOI, from Rachid Bouchareb. The most impressive thing here is the Bouajila's role, where this character changes in a so shocking, spectacular way. This remains the main interest in this very personal film from director Roschdy Zem. A must see.
