Ritchie appears to have had to step down from this film as he has other projects on the go (including pre-production for Aladdin 2). There may well be a bottle neck that has occurred thanks to the 2020 lockdown shutting down most filmed projects for the best part of a year. Ritchie may still have some kind of 'executive producer' credit on this film but he will have little hands-on involvement (especially as this film looks like it will be shot in the US now), leaving it in the more than capable hands of Dexter Fletcher to produce a successful third instalment.
Mostly because of Robert Downey Jr.'s involvement with MCU movies.
