The CGI in this would have been great...circa 1990!

To say that the animation of "Kiara the Brave" is bad is a HUGE understatement. It's absolutely abysmal. In fact, if a student in an art college produced this, the school would probably dismiss them and disavow all knowledge of them! While it might have looked pretty good about 1990 (before "Toy Story"), for 2011 it looks like crap. Really bright, garish and poorly rendered crap! If the animation isn't bad enough, the story itself looks like something you'd come up with during an acid trip. None of it makes the least bit of sense and would be of interest only to the dumbest and least demanding children.

Now this brings me to the interesting part. Although the cover art APPEARS to be a rip-off of Pixar's new film, "Brave", the film actually has NOTHING to do with this...NOTHING! All in all, there is not one thing to recommend this film. It is bad, amateurish and painful to watch. I really wish I could give this one a zero!

Hello, Windows Paint Graphics And Blender Rendering

OK, remind me again what film school(if any) this crew graduated from, because I'd like to add it to my Do-Not-Attend list. I'd be akin to forgiving them for the terrible graphics, but not for the boring, confusing, drawn out, strange, and extremely uninteresting storyline. If you're going to make your mark in the filming world, at least try to be a little ambitious, regardless of your budget. And calling this title 'Kiara The Brave' during the same year that 'Brave' came out is a great way to get yourself listed as a ripoff artist. You shouldn't have to fool people into watching your film because they've mistaken it for the real thing. That's a sure sign of poor creativity. I thought I'd give this a chance, because I could certainly do without the fancy graphics had the movie at least held my attention. It did not, and now I'll be placing this film to the back of my memory, hopefully to be forgotten forever. Do not watch this movie unless you're a Prof. at a film school using it as an example of how NOT to make an animated flick.

Horrid

The animation is sub par, but I could overlook that. The voice acting is not bad, I have heard far worse. It can be almost funny at times with the naming of enemies, CFC warriors Destroy Cloud warriors.

But the story... is... so... bad...

There are elements of Hercules, Incredibles, Teen Titans, Harry Potter, Brave, pretty much all of them. It is like the writer(s) watched all the kids movies and T.V. shows from the last fifteen years, got drunk and or high, and wrote a story with various characters, scenes and lines from all the stories rewritten into this new one. Some of the characters are just blatantly stolen like the incarnation of "The Future" as Jack and looks like a certain pirate we all know and love.

The universe in which the story takes place is bizarre and haphazardly explained. The Solar system exists as a sort of re conceptualizing of the Greek Pantheon. There are also some casual mentions of the God and some elements of other mythologies thrown into the mix.

My niece only continued watching after the halfway mark because she had to go to bed after it was over. I would mark this as a negative star or three if I could.

Kiara the Brave is not about bravery of any kind.

I've always felt that "Plan 9 from Outer Space" was the hands down winner of the worst movie of all time contest, until I saw Kiara. Bad voice work, bad script, animation that would have been state of the art in 1939, and I couldn't make any kind of sense of the story. I've rated over 4,000 movies here at IMDb and all I could think while watching this trash was, "is there any way to give a movie a negative rating?" I know there isn't but if one could this would surely rate a negative 10.

I actually grabbed it on NetFlix thinking it was the Pixar movie "Brave" and really felt stupid for being duped by the title. Than a couple of days later our adult daughter came home with it from RedBox to watch with our granddaughter and I pointed out that it wasn't "That Brave" she was a bit sheepish, but I felt a bit better learning that it wasn't just me being taken in by the title and cover art.

Use your time more productively, do anything but watch this dross.

A complete and utter joke of an animated movie, one where the misleading title is the least of its problems

As a massive animation fan, Kiara the Brave really is as execrable as the reviewers on IMDb and Amazon say. Don't look for redeeming merits, there are not an awful lot of movies, animated or otherwise, that are completely irredeemable but Kiara the Brave certainly is, managing to do the seemingly impossible and be even worse than Life's a Jungle: Africa's Most Wanted. First and foremost the title, not in a long time has there been a more misleading title for a movie, Super K would have been much more fitting because Super Kloud is the main character, Kiara is literally barely in it. That's the least of Kiara the Brave's problems though. The animation is some of the worst there's ever been for any style, ugly colours, blocky backgrounds, blocky character movements and traumatising character designs(especially the hideous one for Super Kloud, which contributed to my 10-year old friend's night terror after he watched it) that make those of Video Brinquedo's and Spark Plug Entertainment's outputs seem tame in comparison. The music is plodding, forgettable at best and often out of place, some of it and the sound effects were just bizarre(if not quite as bad as Life's a Jungle). The dialogue is enough to give you the urge to pull your ear-drums out, it was juvenile, intelligence-insulting(for kids and adults alike) and just sounded like it was made up on the spot. Not just the writing quality but the way it was delivered too. The story is a colossal bore and makes an even bigger mistake of being incoherent, my friend actually asked what was going on in the story and I couldn't tell him. Slow pacing has never been a problem and understanding what's going on in a movie rarely has, but both were a major problem in Kiara the Brave. The characters are not engaging in the slightest, the supposed title character has a dull as dishwater personality, the actual lead character is obnoxious and the villains are creepy even for villains. The voice acting sounded like nobody put any effort in or forgot their acting lessons providing that they had any in the first place. In conclusion, dreadful in every way imaginable, a must-avoid, and this is coming from a person who is a vast majority of the time very subjective apart from in special cases like this. 0/10 Bethany Cox

I Don't Like This Superhero Movie at All!

How did Phase 4 Films Think Kiara is the Main Character? Kloud IS!!! The Animation looks like a Shovelware Wii Game. There's a Vacuum Cleaner and a Computer that the Wizard Uses in the Medieval Kingdom, What time period does this Movie take place in? 2000, 2025, 1996? Action scenes look Bad. I remembered watching with my Brother in my Parents Room. Just stay away from this and Go watch the Simpsons Movie, That Movie is way better than this Movie.

Hmmm... I'd Like To See What An Indian Thinks About This Movie. Maybe They'd Like It

Based on what I know of, when it comes to ratings and reviews, Indians love this movie. To them, it's a great film for kids. But to us, it's an ugly, poorly animated, poorly told story of some boy superhero who learns to control his powers, and they referenced Einstein in it. For some reason.

So to get it right off the bat, this movie was never about the girl. She's essentially a side character. And speaking of characters, the designs are bad, but they don't really reuse models. Everyone looks distinctive enough to where I think they could be identified through silhouette. And some of them actually look kind of acceptable, like said girl. And that boy with the big nose and bangs.i

The story is confusing. We go from some lab, thing to a tree home, to the palace to what they call, the netherworld, and this movie is insane. There's one scene that's just ripped from one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. There's no point to it, it's just there.

There's two English dubs. One was the American release that went under the Brave rip off disguise, and the other was recorded in India and released alongside the Hindi version on Yahoo India's Movieplex service. And for the Hindi version, it honestly sounds like they tried at least. Again, going back to the girl, it sounds like she's actively engaged in the role. When she's supposed to be happy, she sounds happy. When she's supposed to be distressed and sad, she sounds distressed and sad. Now for the English dub from India, it sounds like they cared less. And the American English dub sounds better because, well, they're not brought down by the Indian accents and stuff.

The music is actually kind of well composed. Some of it doesn't fit the scenes they're in, but some of the compositions actually kind of got stuck in my head. Eh.

Now the animation. It's jerky, the lip syncing doesn't match the voices, it's stilted, weird, ugly, but it appears that they put more effort into the clothing physics. Maybe too much effort into the clothing physics.

I don't know where this is going, I'll just end it. Overall, it's a bad movie, but it's a great movie because of how bad it is. And again, I bet an Indian kid, or even the whole family if you're crazy enough would love this movie. It has their "right" amount of action, comedy, uh, good characters, good character designs, maybe a good story, if you'd like to call it that, and personally, I'd think they'd like this movie. I give it a 10/10. I don't know.

Embarrassingly bad

My kids got sucked in by the title but even at their age they knew how bad this was. Avoid at all costs; you're better off watching Santa With Muscles

Super K (2011): A Misfire in Animated Storytelling

Super K, the 2011 Indian animated feature directed by Kushal Ruia, aspires to deliver a vibrant superhero tale for children but ultimately falls short on nearly every front. Despite its noble intent to create homegrown animation content, the film struggles with execution, earning a disappointing 1/10 for its lack of narrative cohesion, technical polish, and emotional engagement.

The premise-a mischievous boy created by superpowers who must learn responsibility to save his kingdom-has potential. However, the plot is riddled with clichés, abrupt tonal shifts, and underdeveloped character arcs. The storytelling feels rushed and disjointed, making it difficult for viewers to invest in the journey or care about the stakes.

Visually, Super K suffers from outdated CGI and inconsistent design choices. Character models lack fluidity, and the environments feel flat and uninspired. For a film that hinges on fantasy and action, the animation fails to deliver the dynamism or aesthetic appeal needed to captivate its target audience.

The voice performances range from passable to awkward, with little emotional nuance. Dialogue often feels stilted, and the sound mixing does little to enhance the experience. The musical score, while energetic, cannot compensate for the lack of narrative and visual depth.

While the film attempts to convey messages about teamwork, courage, and growth, these themes are buried beneath chaotic pacing and superficial storytelling. The result is a film that feels more like a missed opportunity than a meaningful contribution to children's media.

Super K is a well-intentioned but poorly executed animated feature that fails to meet the basic standards of engaging children's entertainment. Its lack of polish and coherence makes it difficult to recommend, even as a curiosity. For viewers seeking quality animated storytelling, this one is best left in the archives.

Amazing movie.

Amazing animation, likeable characters, cool action sequences and highly detailed character designs. Also an epic story.
