When the Director would visit family in the woods of central Louisiana, while the crickets were chirping on moonless nights the older men would tell stories of the legendary Elp. These cautionary tales would horrify young children who were used to sleeping in the city.
Writer/director Chris Veade described the film as "a Scooby-Doo for adults."
Director Chris Veade is a retired history teacher from Louisiana. He loved to teach and watch history shows on cable. But each time he tuned in to one of the channels, all he saw were shows on Bigfoot and aliens. So, that became the concept for this film.
The film premiere was held at the Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville, LA.
