I never really understood why Norm isn't big as he should be. Every major comedians find him as one of the funniest man alive, yet most networks executives and some public don't "get him". He has a unique sense of humour, which is lost on many people. Personally I think he is one of the funniest comedians around and this show just proves it.
"Conan O'Brien wrote in an e-mail: "I've been interviewing Norm for 18 years and he has consistently broken every talk-show rule. When Norm steps out from behind the curtain I honestly don't know what is going to happen and that electrical charge comes through the television.""
Hope this show is start of something big of Norm and goes on for many seasons. Its hard to believe he hasn't been on television for nearly seven years, TV is better whenNorm Macdonald is on it.
A+

Norm Macdonald. We loved him on SNL. We loved him in Dirty Work. He was fired from SNL for some silly reason, and now he is focusing his awesome talent on a sports related show airing on Comedy Central. Should I care? Should anyone care? ABSOLUTELY! Norm brings his supreme talents to a sports show called "Sports Show WithNorm Macdonald". Being a Norm fan and not necessarily a sports fan, I watched his first show with one thumb on the channel changer, but sports fan or not this show is pure Norm in all his magnificence. Honestly it could have been called "Norm Sorts His Laundry" and he still would have knocked it out of the park. I highly recommend this show - Norm is in fine form, and I so miss his SNL era and his few films, this show totally satisfies on all levels.
This show was hilarious but the idiots at Comedy Central decided to have two sports shows at once(there was also an Onion sports show). How could anyone think two sports shows on a "comedy" channel would work? How could anyone think the Onion needed a tv show? But I do miss the days when CC wasn't anti-white.

Wow - I used to love Norm Macdonald. When he was on SNL he was in my top 10 all time cast members, so I was quite happy to find this show. Now that I have watched the first 6 episodes, I wish i could erase it from my memory. It is bad...It is really really bad. In the first six shows I think I laughed one time. I was expecting a Daily Show type experience, except via sporting news. Wow, was I wrong. Ironically, the funniest part of the show is when Norm Macdonald isn't even on camera, but instead his 'nephew' is doing the roaming reporter bit.
It's not that the show is just a bit bad with some lame jokes - it is really bad with horrible jokes. I honestly believe that whomever wrote the other positive reviews and scored the show so highly must either a) work for the show, b) be a family member of someone affiliated with the show, or c) be Norm Macdonald himself.
Watch a few episodes and let me know what you think. I made myself watch the first 6 - trying to give him a chance to get his feet under him and get into the groove. Sadly it is now apparent that there is no groove, and that the writers on this show must be the cast off's from other shows like SNL, Daily Show, the Colbert Report etc.
If you currently are a fan of Norm then please do yourself a favour and skip this show. It will only make you feel sorry for the guy and start wondering if he was ever really funny to begin with.
